I have taken my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to the dealership twice for a known recall 12B/NHTSA 24V-130 and issue with the automatic high beam headlights not working properly. The dealership claimed it was fixed and ran a recall update, but the system still does not function as designed. I am now within 500 miles of my factory warranty expiring, and the dealership is no longer responding to my calls. The safety feature remains broken despite repeated attempts to have it repaired. This issue may be related to a known recall or software defect reported for failure to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 – Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment., and is a driver safety concern at night or in low-light conditions. I am also reporting this issue to Jeep/Chrysler customer care and opened a case. I believe this should be further investigated as either a widespread unresolved recall issue or a recall repair failure that is not being properly corrected by authorized service centers.

High Beam Headlights not working on Auto mode. Was inches away from Hitting a deer due to the high beam headlights not working. This would have been a very serious accident and I had my toddler in the car with me..... Same vehicle models have a recall for this, Recall is --- NHTSA Recall 21V-797, also known as Recall Y66, involves Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) vehicles due to a potential issue with difficulty activating high beams. The recall was issued because the high beam activation mechanism may not function as required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 S9, potentially reducing visibility for drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) notified owners about this recall on October 28, 2021... Part Number - 68374988AA... Vehicle is 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Laredo 4x4 3.6L V6..... Dealership service will not service this since there isn't a recall shown for my Jeep vin specifically. Even though there are identical models that have this recall. Jeep Dealership wants over $900 just to check and maybe service this issue..... This is a very serious issue. I have already scheduled an appointment on 7/18/2025 to have 3 other recalls fixed at this dealership and would like to ask for you to please have them service this issue as well since this is an oversight on the manufacturers end..... This high beam issue was caused by an oversight during vehicle programming, affecting "Body Controller Modules" with part number 68374988AA

Generally, for the entire time we've owned the car, it has ongoing and systemic electronics malfunctions. This ranges from the car slamming on its own brakes while driving to systems not working to the seat shifting on its own while driving to false positives in the NAV system, etc. A lot of the malfunctions are funny, some are dangerous, but the common thread is that in spite of months in repair and countless supposed repairs by dealerships, the problems continue. And, yes, some of these absolutely put safety at risk (slamming on the brakes for no reason, false positives on detecting objects in road, seat moving during vehicle operation, speedometer ceasing to work, etc). Chrysler has confirmed and acknowledged these problems in the form of various settlements in spite of our requests for a buyback, offering us money, but leaving us saddled with the lemon. What I'm complaining here about, however, is that for the second time the vehicle has apparently caught fire in the engine when started from being off. The first time, it was supposedly fixed by replacing a sensor, but it did it again today, stranding my wife and young son in a parking lot. This car is a death trap and will, sooner or later, hurt or kill someone.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact turned off the vehicle. The contact restarted the vehicle and shifted into reverse(R) and the steering wheel seized. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle three times and after the third time, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with steering failure, and that the steering rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. Upon investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V352000 (STEERING); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 35,168.

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. I have taken it to the dealer twice, and they say there is nothing they can do and to wait for a possible software update, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, even if one is able to wade through all the settings menus and change setting back, some items cannot be reset (like the FCA off lamp). According to various Jeep owner forums, some dealers have been able to reset something and temporarily correct the issue, but they charge for this service, and the issue returns randomly again. Here is an example forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: [XXX] Many people on the forum believe this issue did not start until a software update a year or so ago. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. I just discovered my IPC module is faulty and has been faulty. My vehicle has been putting itself into park while driving multiple times now in the little over 2 years I’ve had it. Along with many other electrical issues (power steering going out) engine not cutting off after putting it I to park and cutting the jeep off. Dash going out. Biggest issue is my vehicle causing me near miss traffic accidents. The dealership it was purchased from, certified. Hid service history reports at the sale. Also returned this vehicle multiple times without acknowledging the issue or even telling me they didn’t repair the issue. Last time it was picked up from Matt Bowers Jeep in Baton Rouge within 30 mins the issue was happening and more (rpms shooting up and Jeep taking off without giving it gas). I went public and another dealership reached out to help me. Within a few hours they noted that the vast majority of my modules weren’t updated, some bad and the IPC module keeps failing. They’re working with Stellantis trying to troubleshoot the issue. This has never been made known by Matt Bowers and matches the original service records hidden from day one. I cant get my vehicle back while the IPC module is faulty because it’s a serious safety hazard. Matt Bowers has put me back I to This vehicle multiple times knowing it was a hazard and I even Stated I felt unsafe in this Jeep. This is a serious safety hazard!!! Mopar was also made aware and has never returned any messages.

1) The 'Forward Collision Warning Off' light has continued to show on my dashboard, even though everything in the system indicates that it is on. 2) From time to time, usually when using the remote start, the system will change settings to Italian Language and also change temp to C rather than F. 3) On at least 3 occasions, when I start the car, all warning lights turn on, such as Service Power Steering, Lane Assist, Automatic emergency Braking, etc. I have to turn the car completely off, wait a few minutes, and turn back on to have thing behave as normal.

- #11668585June 23, 2025ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I was idling at a light, which means the engine had auto-shut off. The light turned green and I stepped on the accelerator. Car kicked back on like normal and I got back up to speed ~45 mph. So now I'm about 1/4 mile past the light and I hear the engine kick off and lost all acceleration (everything else was normal). Warning popped up on the dash that "vehicle is not in park". I put on my hazards, braked to a stop, put the vehicle in park (nothing happened), hit the push button to turn the vehicle off, waited 2 seconds, hit the button again to turn it back on. It restarted.

The rear coil spring fell off. I did not hear a thud or any noise. When I pulled out of my driveway I heard a scraping and when I got out, I saw it hanging down. In June 2023, I had a recall repair done for the rear coil springs, so this should not have occurred. I’m worried the recall was not done correctly.

My vehicle was experiencing the exact same HVAC/AC issues described in Customer Satisfaction Notification Z33 for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Although the campaign specifically lists my make, model, and year, Stellantis claims my VIN is not covered. I was forced to pay $175 for the same repair listed in the Z33 document (HVAC module flash, Labor Code 18-Z3-31-82), and this should have been covered. Stellantis is refusing reimbursement even though the issue and fix are identical.

My Jeep over the last year has automatically put itself into park while I’m driving down the highway! I’ve had near miss accidents due to this. No warning lights, no signs something is wrong. It just either slams itself into park and locks up, then won’t turn off. The last times without warning my engine shuts off, my screen pops up saying put into park to start engine and the vehicle puts itself into park automatically. It’s happens fast to! I was swerved by other drivers each time. Jeep will do NOTHING about this! My power steering goes out randomly also. This has happened more than once since the end of 2023! I’m now scared to drive it.

My vehicle randomly throws on the parking brake while driving. I have almost been rearended because of it. In order to get the parking brake to release i have to shut off the vehicle and wait 30 seconds then when I restart it, it releases. I get a message on my dashboard when this happens that says Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) limited functionality service required. This has happened multiple times and the dealership has no clue how to fix the issue. This is a safety hazard to not only me, my unborn baby and my family, but also to others on the road because there is no warning before it sets the parking brake. I will list the most recent time this has occurred.
