- #11693659October 15, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
The car suddenly would not accelerate over 20 miles per hour when I was driving on a busy road. The car has made clunking noises whenever I accelerate since I bought it 6 months ago. There is a recall for other 2020 Jeep Compass Latitudes that would explain this problem (W48/NHTSA 20E-037) but my VIN is not included in the recall. I think that this is a mistake.

Headlights work intermittently. Driver side comes on but passenger side doesn’t or vise versa. Also sometimes neither come on. No warning messages or anything. Yes the jeep dealership saw the issue with the lights and so did an independent mechanic.

- #11693042October 13, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The forward crash detection detects objects on the side of the road that do not present a hazard. The vehicle then automatically, abruptly brakes causing temporary loss of control in the vehicle. In one instance the system detected the barriers in a construction zone causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle and crash into the barrier. The problem has been confirmed by both the dealership as well as Jeep. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacture, police, or insurance. There are no lights or indicators of the issue.

My vehicle information screen is not working. I cannot connect my phone; therefore cannot talk hands free. So this seems like a safety issue. I do not have access to my back up camera.

- #11692734October 11, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Active lane management jerked me off the road disabled my forward and rear crash detection sensor and my automatic high beams were disabled all simultaneously without warning or any sign scared me and my family since then my forward crash section is permanently on and will not go off I have no active lane management it disabled and said service and for the past 2 weeks has been nothing but electrical failure after electrical failure my dealership says there nothing they can do except clear the codes and reboot the system and see if that helps (we did that it didn't work either) so I feel like I'm paying for something that has only lasted me 17,000 miles and is about to quit because the computer in it or something is causing my jeep to be unsafe

Shifting assembly failed. When the service center went to order it, it was heavily backordered (meaning many people with this Make / Model experiencing the same failure at the same time). Service center showed me that a thin rubber gasket is all that failed … it is no more substantial than a rubber washer you put in a water hose). Why a $500 part for a $0.50 failure? (Perhaps that is the service center taking advantage.) But even still why would Jeep put such a cheap part in such a critical location where it can break and become dislodged and result in you losing control of your vehicle drive train? Something feels very wrong about this.

I BOUGHT MY JEEP COMPASS LATITUDE 2022 BRAND NEW FOR A DEALERSHIP IN NOVEMBER OF 2021. SINCE THEN MY RANDOM DASHBOARD LIGHTS HAVE COME ON AND OFF, THE CALL HAS STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES ALL RELATING SUPPOSELY TO THE BATTERIES GOING BAD. I HAD BOTH BATTERIES CHANGED LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I FEEL THERE IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED

the accident occurred on [XXX] in the city of Visalia, Ca. I’m not sure what time it was happened and any other details because I’m not the person involved in the accident but I bought the car from a dealership located in Corona, Ca on [XXX]. They never mentioned that the car was involved in a collision or if it had an accident reports. Even brought a Vehicle History report with the contact details. Then the first day when I bought it the engine light turns on and on the dashboard said “transmission service” so I tried to return it to them but they said “isn’t possible” so they took the car to supposedly fix it but after one day that they gave me the car back the engine light turns on again, so I had to investigate by myself and I found that the car was on a collision and it was registered as a rental vehicle in another state and after the accident it was put on sale by an auto auction. Subject: Complaint Against American Warranty – Tire & Rim Coverage To Whom It May Concern, I am filing this complaint against American Warranty (1-800-346-6469) regarding my tire and rim coverage for my 2020 Jeep Compass (VIN: [XXX] , Mileage: 49,000). The titled vehicle is in my name, [XXX] , [XXX] . On June 26, 2025, I dropped off my Jeep for warranty service. Since then, I have been without a vehicle, and my claim has been mishandled at every step. 1.Unprofessional and rude treatment – When I attempted to conference call with the Harr dealership manager and the warranty department, the representative hung up on both of us, saying they “already knew about the case” and that I had to wait. Their tone has been dismissive and rude throughout my calls. 2.Delays and lack of resolution – After more than three months, my claim is still unresolved. I purchased extended warranty coverage specifically to avoid these issues, yet I have been left without a vehicle all this time. 3.Rental car denied – Despite repeated requests, I was told I am not entitled to a rental while my Jeep is undriveable due to warranty issues. 4.Improper rim handling and poor repair coordination – The warranty company appointed Alloy Wheel Repair Specialist (Contact: Shaundolyn Whittle, [email protected], 877-743-2977) to attempt repairs. My rims were removed and remounted multiple times, leaving them scratched and further damaged. •Additionally, Elite Wheels (Contact: Nick, 518-579-9260, Claim #[XXX]) was also involved in the process. This created confusion and additional delays. 5.Additional out-of-pocket charges – Harr Jeep (114 Gold Star Blvd, Worcester, MA – Contact: Christian Aylward, 508-471-2625) has had to diagnose my vehicle several times to provide information to the warranty department. I am now being told I must pay these charges, as the warranty company refuses to cover them. This has caused me severe incon INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- #11690438September 29, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Component or System Involved: ABS module (Anti-lock Braking System), with apparent impact on transmission and engine performance. The component is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The vehicle will not drive over 45 mph or exceed 3,000 RPM, which presents a serious safety risk when attempting to merge, change lanes, or maintain safe speeds in traffic. The car has also shut off unexpectedly while in the driveway, raising concerns about stalling while driving. Service Confirmation: The issue was diagnosed and confirmed by Jeep Napleton in Kissimmee, FL as a failed ABS module. The replacement part has been on national backorder since March 2025. There was no ETA until September, when the estimated arrival date was September 17. That date has been pushed back several times, with the current ETA now October 8, 2025 — with no guarantee it won’t be delayed again. Inspection History: The vehicle was inspected and diagnosed by an authorized Jeep dealership (Jeep Napleton). The ABS module failure has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Warning Lamps and Symptoms: Dashboard warning lights for ABS, transmission, and check engine have been on consistently. Symptoms first appeared in March 2025. The car has about 100,000 miles on it.

The infotainment screen is delaminating, which seems to be an extremely common issue in this model year along with other models and years that use the same screen. The delaminating causes numerous issues including poor visibility and ghost touches on the screen which can easily distract the driver as their radio changes stations randomly, messes with the navigation, adjusts the fans, and many other functions that are controlled with the screen. As of right now, I have not brought the car into the dealership specifically for this issue as so many other individuals are reporting the same problem in numerous forums.
