STEERING
When you start the car and take off.... the power steering goes away. Very difficult to steer car. Its happened a few times now in a short period of time. When you turn off the engine...and restart, The steering comes back. I see there are many people on the internet that have the same problem. Someone is going to get in an accident and get killed if this is not address immediately. I see down below in the form to fill out it has a date. The last one was on

ENGINE
Engine has been leaking oil for awhile. After close inspection i discovered a tiny crack in oil pan. There is no damage whatsoever to the oil pan. After much research online it appears many other hyundai owners have the same leak from a crack in oil pan in exact same spot. If left unchecked it would result in engine damage from low oil level. There is a spot weld for drain plug backing and the crack develops at this spot weld. No damage or impact has caused this crack as other owners experience same issue. Oil pan had to be replaced as leak was getting worse at crack

Driver side bumper does not sit flush with driver side fender. It popped out between top edge of bumper and fender... Many compliments on social media..... Hyundai needs to fix these cars. The bumper retention

Car shutdown (stops) in the highway driving 3 times last couple of weeks. - It first shows Battery Warning Light first and car shutdown on highway driving, and slowly park the side. It restarts with jump (it is hybrid system and allows jump inside the car). - When visited Hyundai Kirkland WA dealership, they found that there was an error in the Hybrid system, (v12 battery), but didn't know what's problem. - I left my car there 2 days but can't find the root cause even if there is a code; they said they can't repro it on highway driving. - I might have to pick it up tomorrow without any fix from them.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
In February 2024, on a day with snow on the ground no less, my husband was driving over the Verrazano Bridge from Brooklyn, NY to Staten Island, NY, when the car suddenly started shaking and the speed dropped from 50 to 20 in about 10-30seconds. The car started smoking and filling up with fuel fumes. Cars were beeping at him, almost crashing into the back of the car. He was able to make it to safety and had the car towed to the nearest Hyundai Dealership/service. The issue was an injector. On Saturday, [XXX], I got into the car with my two children (age [XXX] and [XXX] old). The car started shaking, all of the check engine lights flew on, the car quickly filled up with fumes, the exhaust was smoking, and the RPM Dial was dancing. I have never been so terrified. The car was towed and again the issue was diagnosed as an injector. Not the same one, a different one. I have been told by my local Hyundai that this is an ongoing issue and that Hyundai only changes 1 at a time, knowing that the others may be faulty. This is unacceptable. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Riding down the road June 30, 2024 and heard a loud boom coming from the back of my car. I pulled to the side of the road and walked around but saw no damage to outside of car. When I was approximately 30 miles from home my gas started dropping tremendously. Once arriving at home it was a rumble coming from rear of car after inspecting outside car and seeing no damage again, I looked in my back seat and the rear seat was lifted. If my kids or any other occupants would have been back there it could have possibly caused injuries. Upon my mechanic looking my car over they told me it was something to do with my fuel tank. My appointment is July 16, 2024 Hyundai of Dothan in Dothan al for farther diagnosis. My safety was in danger as explosion from the fuel tank could have cause serious damage and/or injury to car and self. Check engine light came on once the fuel consumption started dropping tremendously.

ENGINE
Engine began making knocking sound then car while in the highway was not able to accelerate. This slowdown put driver at risk for highway accident. Took car to dealership. They said the engine needed replaced then the next day said no Hyundai said it needed a sensor. This was a bandaid fix as it continued to go through oil faster than it could be changed this led to engine shake and knocking several months after the band aid fix. The car was not able to accelerate again. Again took it to Hyundai dealership said it need an oil test required us to do and pay for an oil change when we had just done one. Drive the 1000 miles brought it back failed the oil test said they need to do some sort of engine clean. Hyundai refused as the car doesn’t have oil change records for the first three years. No record of oil change was recorded even though they were completed. It being five and six years ago we don’t have receipts but believe these were part of the lease and completed at the dealership at no cost. Now Hyundai not even doing the rest of the oil test but say engine needs replaced however they will not cover the repair. We have all records after the car was purchased off the lease other car we own has full oil change records but since we are not able to locate and no one recorded they have denied the repair of a known issue with their engine. This engine issue needs a full investigation as they are trying to get away with not fixing THEIR known problem. This is a driving hazard for the cars still on the road as the engine will suddenly lose the ability to accelerate and could cause a major accident.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that the failure was a known issue. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. SEAT BELTS
Drivers side seat belt strap does not retract back when removed and has faulty latch which sometimes pops out. Dealer told us that because the car had over 60,000 miles on it that we would be responsible for payment to replace the pretensions and other internal parts plus the latch. This car was bought new in 2019 and had only been involved in one accident which the seat belt was not used due to the fact that the car was parked when it was struck. Since this is a safety issue which could result in my death or serious injury in the event of a vehicle accident I am taking a chance evey time i drive this vehicle. The approximate cost according to hyundai would be around $1800.00 - $2000.00. I consider this a manufacturer defect that hyundai should replace and be responsible for the cost. They refuse to fix this issue unless I pay for the repair. I never heard of a seat belt having a mileage cut off at any amount of mileage. Please advise me if you can enforce safety defect repair to be paid for by hyundai. If you are not able to hold hyundai liable I would appreciate any entity that you may know of that can make them replace for free the defective belt and latch. I'm afraid to drive this car without a working seat belt on the drivers side nor do I have the outrageous money for it to be repaired at my expense.

My vehicle is still being paid on and is fully covered. I was told to get it towed somewhere else and I'm about to lose my job due to nor having transportation

AIR BAGS
While driving on expressway the red Air Bag light went on for no apparent reason and will not turn off. I tried to reset by disconnecting the car battery, but it's still on. This happened about 2 months ago. The car has never had a bag actuate I had heard that air bag malfunctions and some emission problems are covered regardless of age or mileage as long as they have not been tampered.

NHTSA recall 22V312000 Not implemented by Jerry's Hyundai My vehicle has been at Jerrys Hyundai since Feb 15th 2023 due to a failed engine. I verbally asked to have the recalls done once the engine was replaced and also asked if the recalls were complete before picking up the vehicle. I was told all the recalls would be done once the car was running and I was also told that the recalls have been done. I have scheduled the recall service twice now the first being the end of June 2024. The 2nd one being for July 1st 2024 and I am not getting any response to phone calls, emails etc.

The dashboard is cracking I have been online and I've seen other Hyundai owners experiencing the same thing. Multiple concerns 1. cracks in the dashboard effecting defroster for windshield and not being to see already having issues 2. airbags no deploying correctly for driver or passenger in the front seats. 3. I've owned several cars, including two (2) KIA's and NEVER had this happen (1989 Ford, Festiva aka KIA in other parts of the world, and a 2000 Kia Sephia, both vehicles had over 200k in mileage and dashboard NEVER cracked the split like this.

The contact owns a 2019 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of engine oil. The oil warning light was occasionally illuminated. The contact added a quart of oil, but the oil level failed to register on the dipstick. The contact stated that the vehicle was two quarts low in approximately 5,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who competed an oil change and informed the contact to bring the vehicle back within 1,000 miles. The mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was meeting the specifications for the oil requirements. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

The contact owned a 2018 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, a pedestrian alerted him that the vehicle was on fire. The contact noticed that the rear portion and driver side of the vehicle was on fire. While traveling around a curve the brakes became inoperable the contact jumped out of the vehicle. he contact sustained injuries to his left shoulder and leg and medical attention was provided. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle continued to roll as it was burning. The vehicle crashed into a dirt mound at the end of a hill. The fire department was on the scene to extinguish the fire. There were four gallons of fuel on the ground. The vehicle was towed to tow lot. There was no police report fire or air bag deployment. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total lost. The failure mileage was approximately 105, 000.
