Dog walked on neutral button while truck was in motion, causing moving vehicle to unsafely go into neutral. Same thing can happen with a child or passenger who accidentally pushes the fully exposed button.

Experiencing numerous false error warnings from Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) when meeting oncoming vehicles on straight or slightly curving two lane roads. I have taken my vehicle three times to be serviced for this specific reason and a Blind Spot Information System error. The BSI appears to be repaired now but the false CMBS warnings still have not been repaired. The most recent incidents listed below occurred today after picking up the truck from the BSI repair.

I have taken my car to the dealership of three separate occasions with respect to the Automatic High Beam Option which at best works inconsistently on the back rural roads where I live. They adjusted this option on two occasions, and the service advisor took my vehicle home - driving it at night. In his words, he indicated, "Given the technology within this vehicle, we did the best we could." I know for a fact the automatic high beam option technology exists as I have another vehicle with the same option that works flawlessly and as intended; a 2024 Subaru Forester. In multiple correspondences with Honda's Customer Service Division, they stated, "At this time, the trained technicians at Middletown Honda have confirmed that your vehicle is operating as designed. We truly regret that the outcome does not meet your expectations, and we want to assure you that your dissatisfaction has been noted on our end." Clearly, and I understand, that for this issue to be resolved, a recall of this vehicle specific to this issue would have to take place. I have read on numerosu blogs and Honda Forums that this is and has been an issue with this current model dating back to the 2020 model, as owners of the models predating this year did not find this option as an issue. So, clearly something in the engineering of this option post 2020 changed. As I had indicated to both Honda's Customer Service and the dealership personnel I have spoken to, I will no longer utilize this option as it is dangerous and will, on the rural roads I drive on, cause a vehicular accident.

The contact stated that while at a stoplight, the Auto START/STOP feature malfunctioned, and after releasing the brake pedal, the engine failed to automatically restart as designed. After shifting back to park(P), the vehicle restarted and operated as normal. The cause of the failure was not yet been determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Action Number: EA25004 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the investigation. The failure mileage was 50,500. The VIN was not available.

This has something to do with circuit board for the seat sensor that activates air bag? I can’t get dealer to take care of recall. They keep saying we don’t have the parts. This is going on since at least September of last year. Why have recall if they aren’t going to do anything about it? They make appointments and then cancel. I have called Honda Customer Service number(twice) listed on the recall paper twice. Always get told to call dealer and talk to them. Dealer makes appointment and then cancels a few days before the date to bring it in. I have contacted dealer many times about this. Why issue a recall and then don’t fix anything?

- #11659511May 7, 2025TIRES
I am filing this complaint regarding the OEM General Grabber A/T tires (date code 1424) that came with my brand new 2024 Honda Ridgeline, purchased in June 2024. At approximately 16,000 miles, I noticed significant dry rotting and cracking between the treads on all four tires. This was observed right before a planned long-distance trip, raising serious safety concerns. I maintain proper tire pressure and take excellent care of my vehicle, and I live in Vermont where the climate is harsh but not extreme enough to justify this kind of premature deterioration. The dealer referred me to Honda’s 1-800 number, who then directed me to Continental, the parent company of General. Continental opened a case and instructed me to visit a Continental dealer, who confirmed the dry rot but said they need to pull the tires to send them back to Continental for inspection before they decide whether to approve the warranty claim. Meanwhile, I am expected to purchase a new set of tires upfront. This process is not only burdensome but also concerning given the potential safety risk of these tires. Tires with only 16k miles should not be deteriorating like this, and I believe other owners should be aware of the issue. Please investigate the integrity and safety of these tires, as the premature dry rot could pose a serious hazard to drivers.

I have a 2023 Honda Ridgeline RTE excellent condition! Driver side headlight has moisture in it. There is a bulletin from Honda TSB23–024 titled moisture in headlight with a date of 3/3/2023. It involves the ridgeline 2017–2023. The summary says “moisture in the headlights. The headlight seal may become damaged from a miss adjusted Hood. Damage to the headlight seal may lead to moisture condensation building up in the headlight. Replace the headlight(s) with moisture condensation buildup and readjust the hood stoppers.” I called Honda Eastgate at 513-528-8000. They stated it was not a recall and that it would be an out-of-pocket cost. They want to charge a diagnostic fee of $250.00 and then charge to replace the headlight. I asked them if having moisture in the headlight would be a safety problem and they said yes if the light went out. Why in the world is this not a recall. I feel Honda is responsible for this and there should be no charge to the customer. I want to know who else I need to report this to, to have this become a recall, please help me with this problem. I can be reached at [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Thank you for your help. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Automatic headlights malfunction causing the high beams to activate when cars are ahead or deactivate when lights reflect off of street signs. This causes road rage by other Drivers who think the Owner is deliberately blinding them with the high beams. Also with the constant changing between low and high it causes hazards when driving due to inconsistent lighting on the roadway ahead. This condition has been present since purchase in Dec 2022.

Engine "Stop/Start" turned off when trying to make a turn. When it did the steering would not move. Also when "Stop/Start" turns off it was dangerous when turning. I email Honda and they called me back. They could have it disabled but it would cost $80 and I would have to buy the part and they would install it. This is a new truck bought last month.

honda placed panels in the cargo area that are toxic and have a high voc. I have been unable to park the car in the garage because of the toxic odor. The other issue is the air in the brake lines, which makes stopping the truck difficult. the truck is heavy and it just keeps moving when the brakes are applied. I went to dealer and they refused to bleed the brakes.it is absurd!!! the panels are a health concern; can these panels cause cancer; this is a safety issue as well. I hope you take this matter seriously. I will be sending this information to the U.S. attorney general. we have to be certain that this panel is not harmful . it is like someone standing in front of you and blowing their cigarette smoke in your face.please look into this matter. the cargo area is under the bed.

I am not sure this is the correct area to raise this concern. I had a 2017 Honda Ridgeline and bought a Tonneau Cover for it. I was informed it had a recall but did not have a chance to repair it. Fast forward the Tonneau cover is now on my 2022 Ridgeline but I am being told that the recall does not cover a 2022 Ridgeline. I tried to argue that the Accessory was recalled not the model year of the truck. The vehicle has nothing to do with the recall and repair to the Accessory. I have not had any luck getting my Tonneau cover repaired so I am raising this to this organization since in my opinion the recall should not have been issued with the assumption that people buy the cover new when they buy a new truck. Open to your feedback if you agree or disagree with me.

On several occasions, while driving at night, the Auto dimming headlights would not dim. Last evening, on 2 different occasions , on a rural road, no road signs, mailboxs . nothing that would cause a issues, the headlights would not go from high beam to regular (or Low beam.) 2 different times , vehicles coming at us, the lights would not dim. Time was apx 9pm , not a cloud in the sky. I had all so noticed while driving on a interstate , the same thing would happen, the lights would not dim,, drive maybe 50' or 5-10 seconds later. they would dim. There seems to be no rime or reason of if or when they will dim. We had 18 and 22 Outback and they worked perfectly , where the Ridgeline has malfunctions. Asking the dealer they have not heard of anything wrong .. I have not had them to check , but have heard from other owners of the Ridgeline and they are complaining about the same thing. Uptill either the 22's or 23 models the auto dimming worked perfectly .. Then Honda changed either the location of the sensor or changed the software.

While trying to accelerate quickly from the start ,low 15 mph and moderate speeds when you feel you have to push the accelerator pedal all the way at once to the floor theirs a bad Hesitation where the vehicle is going nowhere. The accelerator cable by wire doesn't RESPOND when you want to accelerate . This can cause an ACCIDENT When you attempt to accelerate and the vehicle doesn't get out of its own way. This problem has the same symptoms of the older style carburetors when the accelerator pump goes bad. I asked the dealership about this problem and the reply is ,there's no Check engine light or CODES. Vehicle is working as it should . Problems happened soon after the purchase of vehicle.

Courtesy and safety lighting installed to enter and exit car has never worked properly since the day of installation. It has caused me to slip on ice I could have other wise seen. had it been working properly. It broke within 30 days of the install. I've had Honda work on it 2 times under warranty and they could never get it fixed right. I feel they should refund money or repair it with light's that don't fail. Our Nissan has the same system and has never failed in 8 years of ownership. Please look into this and warn others of this malfunction of parts Honda is selling. While sitting at a stop light at an extremely busy intersection, After pressing the Auto Idle Off button in trying to keep the air conditioner running, my vehicle just completely shut down like it had a completely dead battery. I couldn’t even turn on my hazard lights. The vehicle was completely dead. After pressing the on/off button several times, power to the vehicle was restored and I was able to restart the vehicle. It reminded me of when a computer glitches and reboots on its own. By happening at an extremely busy intersection, I felt like my safety and the safety of others may have been in jeopardy if other vehicles would have made aggressive maneuvers to get around my inoperable vehicle.

2021 Honda Ridgeline Sport with 60,000 miles and no other issues. Engine failed to restart after the "auto stop/start" kicked in, all the lights on the dashboard went off and then turned off. After 1 minute, I was able to get the car started again, this happened on 3 different occasions over a 4 week period. Got the car tested and the starter was bad. Contacted Honda, they said too bad, no issues with the starter. I got the starter replaced for $800 and now NHTSA is investigating the issue Honda said was not an issue.

- #11653024April 6, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Unsafe auto high beams. They do not come on over 45mph. They have a mind of their own and seem to always come on and off at the wrong time. Also is dangerous to the oncoming vehicles that become impaired due to the high beams coming on when another vehicle is approaching. Especially most dangerous when you are on a 2 lane highway. Also the adaptive cruise control is inconsistent and seems to be very laggy and brakes way too hard.

Manual driver’s seat height adjustment slowly reverts to a lower height position without touching the manual mechanism. This is a daily occurrence. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer or any other independent source. This problem began occurring shortly after purchasing the vehicle, or was unnoticed until then. An internet source that claimed to be a mechanic for my brand identified the problem requiring a new seat base, as the mechanism is built into that seat base.
