On the middle of July, we were driving and all of a sudden all these lights start coming up the Brake System Warning, Collision Mitigation ,Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) , Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation System, Auto High-Beam we took it to holler Honda. They said that it was code u3000–49 for forward camera and that it will need to be replaced. They are charging us almost $3000 to get it fixed.

I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, I stepped on the gas pedal to proceed forward. The vehicle suddenly stopped and shifted into Park on its own. The emergency brake light also came on, and the vehicle would not move. I attempted several times to shift the vehicle back into Drive, but it would not move. I continued shifting between Park and Drive and attempting to release the brake until the vehicle eventually allowed me to move. Because the vehicle would not move when the light turned green, another vehicle struck my vehicle. This created a serious safety risk because I was unable to move the vehicle when traffic began proceeding through the intersection, resulting in a collision. There were no warning lights, messages, or other symptoms before the incident. The vehicle unexpectedly did this without warning. The emergency brake light came on when the failure occurred. The vehicle has not been inspected by a dealership or independent service center, and the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center. The vehicle is currently available for inspection upon request.

At 10 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, I experienced an issue with my 2025 Odyssey Touring while stopped at a traffic light waiting to turn left. The auto start-stop feature failed after around 1-2 minutes when I was about to go forward. The car was automatically put in accessory mode and I had to power cycle the car (park, turn off, restart) in the middle of a green turn. Had hazards on. Thankfully, I got it restarted before the next green but this is not acceptable. Serious safety issue. I am concerned this will happen again, so this feature will stay disabled until addressed by Honda.

Was driving down road and passenger side mirror exploded. Did not hit anything just a boom. Mirror housing parts broke off, mirror fractured. Never had a problem with side mirrors. Came home and disengaged the two wire prongs that were hold the reflective parts to housing unit. The camera part also became disengaged.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while at a stoplight, the auto-start failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the engine shut off, but while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with starter failure. The contact was informed that the starter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the gas cap warning light was illuminated. The contact attempted to close the cap, but the gas cap was already closed. The contact stated that while attempting to unlatch the sliding door, the sliding door failed to unlatch. The contact's minor kids had to exit the vehicle through the door. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with an unknown sensor failure. The contact was informed that the sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

I purchased a brand-new 2025 Honda Odyssey in June 2024. The vehicle currently has approximately 18,000 miles. The Auto Idle Stop system has repeatedly shut the engine off at traffic lights and failed to restart it. When this occurs, the engine does not crank, the dashboard remains illuminated, the radio and other accessories shut down, and the display instructs the driver to press the brake to start the engine. Pressing the brake and attempting to restart the vehicle does not work. The vehicle may remain disabled for several minutes before eventually restarting normally. This has happened multiple times. The vehicle has been taken to Honda dealerships twice specifically for this problem, but the technicians have been unable to duplicate the failure. On a separate oil-change visit, the battery tested low and was replaced. The restart failures have continued. Approximately two months ago, my wife experienced this failure while stopped at a traffic light. While the Odyssey was immobilized and unable to restart, a motorcycle struck the rear of the vehicle and fled the scene. The vehicle sustained damage. No police report was filed at the time. I am extremely concerned that this intermittent failure creates a serious safety hazard for my family and other motorists. I request that NHTSA investigate this recurring failure, including its potential connection to previously reported Honda Auto Idle Stop restart problems.

2025 Honda Odyssey. The auto idle-stop shuts the engine off at red lights as designed, but the engine intermittently fails to restart when the brake is released. Some days it happens, some days it does not; on occasion twice in one day. Restarting requires pressing the start button repeatedly. No warning lights appear before or during the failure. The vehicle is left stalled in active intersections when the light turns green, creating a risk of rear-end collision. The issue occurs only with auto idle-stop enabled.

My 2023 Honda Odyssey, VIN [XXX], has developed an unusually loud noise from the engine compartment when I press the accelerator. The vehicle was purchased in XXX and currently has approximately 78,800 miles. An independent mechanic inspected the vehicle and did not identify an internal engine problem. The mechanic suspects that the high-pressure fuel pump may be the source of the abnormal noise, but this has not yet been confirmed by a Honda dealership. I am concerned that the noise could indicate a developing fuel-system defect and would like this issue documented and reviewed for any potential safety implications. I request that NHTSA investigate whether similar reports involving the 2023 Honda Odyssey indicate a defect that may warrant a safety recall. The power sliding driver-side (left rear) door latch assembly on my 2019 Honda Odyssey has experienced a complete mechanical and electrical failure. There were absolutely no warning signs, dashboard lamps, or messages prior to the door suddenly malfunctioning. The built-in closer motor now completely fails to cinch or suction the door shut, preventing it from securing safely into the vehicle frame and triggering a persistent error message on the dashboard after the failure occurred. This creates an immediate, severe safety hazard because this vehicle is routinely used to transport children passengers. An unlatched or unsecured sliding door places my children at direct risk of injury should the door open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion. An authorized Honda dealership service department was contacted regarding this issue and flatly refused to provide a safety remedy or repair assistance, claiming my specific VIN falls outside the narrow manufacturing window of NHTSA Safety Recall 18V-795 (Honda Campaign Z33/O36). Furthermore, I escalated this critical safety issue to American Honda corporate to request assistance, but they have failed to give me an answer within their standard 48-hour response window and I am now approaching 72 hours with no resolution. Despite their refusal and lack of response, my vehicle is exhibiting the exact same dangerous component failure and defective behavior that prompted the original federal recall. The scope of the original recall is clearly too narrow, and it needs to be expanded immediately to protect families facing this manufacturing defect.

The front camera that controls lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, collision warning, auto high beam, lane departure failed so none of these features work. The component has been replaced by a Honda service center. I don’t believe the failed component is available to inspect.

The middle row passenger side seat stopped functioning. The lever on the middle row seat that must be used to allow third row passengers to exit or enter the vehicle does not work. So the seat will not move forward to allow exit if necessary as intended. This is a safety issue in the event of accident or fire and if third row passengers need to exit the vehicle quickly, or to be able to access child in car seat. Honda has informed me that despite the vehicle being under the new bumper to bumper vehicle warranty that fixing this issue is "not covered" under the warrantly. There is no damage to the seat or lever mechanism that is visible or that has occurred. Rather the lever just stopped working. To the extent this presents a safety issue, and Honda will not address it (their corporate customer service folks have also not communicated with me regarding the complaint about this issue and the mention that this also represents a safety issue), I am reporting this problem to NHTSA. Thank you.

Discovered rear driver side spring fractured during oil change with routine use of the vehicle below 50k miles. Read that these are seen frequently in 2018-2022 models. Thought it should be reported.

While sitting at light, Idle stop engaged and engine stopped - then car lost all power. I was boxed in in heavy traffic and could not move. The car could not be shifted to neutral when I tried to consider how I could get off the road. After a minute or so power suddenly returned to the vehicle and I was able to proceed. The next day, lucklily at a less busy intersection the same issue occurred (again with Idle Stop engaged). After these events I scheduled to take to dealership. Over the next several days I made sure Idle stop was not engaged and had no further issues. Took to Honda dealership and they determined started needed to be replaced. This repair was completed at my expense.

Front Camera failure which disables the entire Honda sensing Suite, Shuts down Cruise control, lane keeping assist, front collision warning and Auto emergency braking. This has caused the loss of many safety features intended to prevent accidents and injury. There are numerous warning lights on the dash that are constantly displayed and can be a distraction to other safety or maintenance concerns. Dealer has diagnosed the problem to be an issue with a faulty front camera system. The repair for this is extremely expensive

The vehicle was stalled on highway local about seven times. My car got stranded and almost got into serious accidents. This happened multiple times and Honda couldn’t fix it. I spent $9000 and couldn’t find the problem. Honda changed fuel injectors, pump, regulator, high pressure. But the car is still stranded on highway which is very dangerous

I was driving on a parkway with my children aged [XXX] & [XXX]. No warning lamps or messages were present at any point before this incident: While driving straight ahead on the parkway my vehicle drove over a pothole causing the side airbags to deploy without warning. I immediately felt a burning sensation on my left arm & abdominal pain. My seatbelt had locked tightly, impairing mobility & making it difficult to view and judge the speed of other vehicles around me, thus making exiting the parkway difficult & dangerous. Upon stopping the vehicle I observed the left side curtain airbag & the driver's seat side airbag had deployed. My daughter and I, who are both asthmatic, had difficulty breathing as a result of the expelled airbag gas. My son, seated next to the airbag, suffered pain in his ears and tinnitus from the noise of the airbags. Upon inspecting the exterior of vehicle I observed no damage consequential to driving over the pothole. Inside the vehicle, a quick inspection revealed a damaged headliner from the side curtain airbag, a damaged driver seat from its airbag, & a driver's side seatbelt that would not retract or extend. I did not inspect other seatbelts. Front airbags did Not deploy. NYPD responded but did not take a report. The vehicle is now at a Honda Service department, Honda case#XXX. Presently, the case has been reviewed by a Honda case manager who refused repair for the damage resulting from this incident, in spite of an active recall addressing this issue. [MFR RECALL NO: UNW, NHTSA RECALL NO.:26V227- side & side curtain airbags INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY WHEN THE VEHICLE ENCOUNTERS STRONG ROAD IMPACTS SUCH AS POTHOLES]. I received no recall notice prior to this incident. I discovered the recall through my own research after this incident. I have no information on what if anything Honda has done to test or inspect any supplemental restraint system or airbag system components. Please see attached photos. After a heavy rain, the rear tailgate stopped working- apparently the roof seals have cracked and water leaked into the rear part of the car, and destroyed the tailgate latch and control unit. When I was driving the car for service, the rear sensor kept beeping indicating that the tailgate was not latched properly- I was afraid it would open it, so I had to drive carefully to the dealer. Now, the dealer says it a known problem on the 22 odysseys that the seals crack and leak water into the car, but its not covered by any warranty, even though when I bought the car last year, it was a honda certified warranty. Now its a $2,630.00 job to repair this. The dealer said there was significant rust due to the leaking of the seals around the latch and controller unit. here isa link that says this problem actually goes back to 2018-2024 odysseys. [XXX] And I know it goes back as far as the 2008 model year- I had the 2008 odyssey and had the same roof seal water leak problem but the water was going into the seat belt areas. Something has to be done to stop this. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

THE AUTO STOP- START HAS FAILED AT LEAST 4 TIMES SINCE PURCHASING IN APRIL. FIRST, I WAS WAITING FOR TRAFFIC ON A BUSY 4-LANE HIGHWAY. A SPOT OPENED; I WENT PEDAL TO METAL, ROLLED ACROSS THE WHITE LINE WITH A DEAD CAR, LOTS OF HORNS, BUT NO IMPACT; WAS ABLE TO RESTART AFTER ABOUT 1MINUTE. ANOTHER TIME I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT 4 LANE 55MPH NO RESTART. CARS FLYING PAST ME, BLOWING HORNS. BATTERY LIGHT WAS ON; WOULD NOT START. BRACING FOR IMPACT, I PUSHED BUTTONS, CONSIDERING RUNNING FROM CAR, FINALLY STARTED THAN WOULD NOT SHIFT FROM PARK. I WAS IN LIFE-THREATENING DANGER FOR A FULL LIGHT CHANGE UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO MOVE. DEALER COULD NOT REPRODUCE DID RELATE HE HAD MANY COMPLAINTS. 75 YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER DROVE SUCH A DANGEOUS CAR.

Camera/Radar behind the rearview mirror failed. This triggered the following alerts to populate. Forward collision alert, auto high beams, lane departure, active cruise control (active and passive both failed to work), brake system, transmission system, lane keep assist failure. The gear indicator would flash when the transmission system error came on. Van has ~76k miles on it. ~$119 for diagnosis, ~$1400 for the part, ~$300 for the calibration and several additional hundred in labor. This is a known issue with the 5th generation Honda Odysseys. Honda won't do anything about it. It was up to 8 error messages on the dash at one point.
