While driving down the interstate going between 55-60 mph van began to downshift and rpm’s started rising but gas pedal didn’t accelerate. Then the next day I got stranded on a highway because the van locked into neutral before I could pull into a parking lot because of traffic, then it finally went into park(we were trying to get it back in drive obviously). I was stuck blocking traffic for almost an hour with 3 kids and an infant in the car. Finally, restarting it several times worked and i was able to pull in and wait for a tow truck. This almost happened on the interstate. Someone is going to be seriously injured or worse because we almost were. Honda I supposed to be known for safety but right now, I may just switch to Toyota because apparently this issue is known and they just don’t care enough about their customers to recall and fix it.

My car is having misfire since last one year. After diagnosis, my mechanic replaced the spark plugs when I received the engine light sign. Within couple of months I am having the same issues and the spark plugs keep burning due to the misfire. I’ve talked to my mechanic and he said there are multiple vehicles having same issue. Honda should open a recall and fix this ASAP.

At critical accelerating situations (turning, merging, passing...) the minivan will hesitate, and no power is delivered to the wheels. As a result, the car does not perform as intended and can cause an accident when turning, merging, or attempting to pass. The only resolution is to remove any pressure from the accelerator and allow the car 1-2 seconds to recover, then you can usually accelerate slowly. Sometimes this has happened multiple times in the same accelerating event. This happens on 2018-2019 Honda Odysseys with 3.5l V6 with ZF 9HP transmissions. This has happened multiple times and Honda has failed to correct this issue. This is a known issue and has been part of a class action lawsuit. The most recent incident occured yesterday and the vehicle automatically shifted into Neutral and would no long drive.

- #11606364August 4, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The multipurpose camera in the front windshield has failed, causing the adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and correction, forward collision to fail. Even the non-ACC cruise control is locked out due to the failed camera. Honda will charge ~ $1800 to replace, and I can’t afford that. Problem confirmed by Ian’s of Broken Arrow. They confirmed it was the camera and not the radar unit. The failure of the camera causes a host of persistent dashboard warnings, but none preceded the failure.

while driving in the through lane, we experienced (this has happened several times) a sudden sharp braking due to a car in a turn lane being stopped and sensed by the anticollision system. We believe this same system has caused hard braking when changing from a through lane to a right turn lane without putting on the turn signal. It also "gently" brakes at times when the lane markings on one side or the other are faint or missing, we think the system sees this as a lane departure. The most recent sharp sudden braking almost caused us to be rear-ended. Along with this there are various issues with proximity sensors around the vehicle. We believe all of these issues are related.

- #11606206August 2, 2024FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and sputtered, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.

2018 Honda Odyssey failed transmission systems. This vehicle had recalls in regard to TCM module and softwares in past. Normally transmission system should last well over 150,000 miles for this type of vehicle. My car failed at 74000 miles. That too without any advanced warning. Vehicle was maintained and serviced at same dealership regularly where it was purchased. Honda is claiming its outside their 60000 mile powertrain warranty. Honda expects me to pay over 10,000 dollars for repair. I believe my vehicle is having issues with transmission related to TCM module recall of 2019 and Recall 04v176 of 2023. Honda is refusing to look in to possibility of my vehicle's issue could possibly related to those recalls. I believe those recalls need to be looked at and my vehicle should have been involved in those recalls. I have documented proof for all services performed and current vehicle inspection report.

- #11605844August 1, 2024ENGINE, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
My 2019 Honda Odyssey has had issues with engine hesitation since purchase, but have worsened in the last year to the point that I am concerned I will be in an accident. When creeping forward at a lower speed (5-8mph) to make a turn, the engine hesitates for several seconds, delaying my ability to turn and causing me to then turn seconds before another car is approaching me. I am in a Honda facebook group and many people report similar issues without any fix. I have taken my car to the dealership and they do not see any issues. I recently had my fuel pump recall done (I basically had to beg the dealership to do it despite them telling me Honda is short on supplies), and the issue is still present. The issue is worse in colder weather. I drive with 3 kids in the backseat. This issue needs to be addressed.

On a number of occasions the automatic braking system has engaged when no vehicles or objects were present in the vicinity of the vehicle. This is incredibly dangerous. When I get in the car now I have to remember to disengage that feature before operating the vehicle.

My 2018 Honda Odyssey doesn't have any current vehicle recalls but it's is experiencing the engine stall while driving, the power sliding floors not locking properly and the power trunk making a grinding noise when it opens and closes. I had the vehicle inspected at the local Honda dealership and they told me there was nothing they could do about the vehicle stalling, the power doors not closing and the trunk grinding. From releasing the brake and pressing the gas, the vehicle will stall and then spin the tires as if I'm racing or burning rubber.

The vehicle stalled continuously after a slight noise and speed dropped to 20-30 mph while driving on a freeway in Arizona at around 9 pm in the night. We had to pull to the side of the road and once I parked and turned off the engine, the vehicle would not turn on again. All lights -check engine, were on. Once it was towed to the independent service center, it was diagnosed as engine failure with two pistons burnt out and had to get that replaced. After researching , I see a recall for certain 2013 honda odyssey for engine pistons issue , (Link - [XXX] .) where it may not have been properly hardened during a heat treatment process. This engine issue caused a great safety risk in the middle of freeway, thankfully the traffic was light since it was late-night. We were 6 members in the car including kids and we were stranded by the side of the road until 11 pm until tow truck or other ride arrangements could be made. We spent approx $5000 for repairs , $1000 for towing and $500 for rentals. I can provide the receipts on request. I was attempting to move the passenger side 2nd row seat forward so that my children could extricate themselves from the third row while we were stopped. The mechanism locked, and subsequently the seat back was unable to lock. This was a safety issue, and so I move my child to another seat. We took the vehicle to a dealership and we're informed that it was an issue with the lock for the recliner function and that it was damaged. Upon reviewing recall information, it was noted that there were recalls for 2016 Honda Odysseys with a reported similar issue of second row seats being unable to lock after releasing to allow access to the third row.(Recall Numbers 18V170000 and 16V933000). I was informed that my vehicle was not covered as the end of the recall ended with vehicles made two months prior to mine despite being the same year model. A seat not locking is a significant safety issue and I question if the above recalls need to extend to include more cars.

Windshield monocular camera seems to be failing. No way to stop the warnings from popping up everytime I crank my car, can’t even use cruise control. I paid extra for these features and it seems to be a safety issue.

- #11604811July 26, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
Started the car one morning and instantly a bunch of warning messages appear on the dashboard stating; 1) Collision Mitigation System Problem 2) Lane Keeping Assist Problem 3) Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 4) Auto High Beam Problem 5) Auto Emergency Braking Problem. There is also a brake system light on now (amber color) due to the above. Never had an issue before now. This is on a honda odyssey 2019 EX with just over 35k miles. Took car to local mechanic who ran diagnostic report and found the following issue; "Integrated driver support/monocular camera driver support system issue; multi-purpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure" Contacted the Honda dealership who want $1500 for a new device and programing; this is disgusting. This issue is so widespread its almost ready to be a full blown recall.
