SUSPENSION
I took the van into Honda and they said the back 2 rear springs were broken. But the parts (springs) were on back order. I called dealers all over Ontario, New York and Virginia(because I have family in those states) and discovered that none of them had the part or that if they did they were not allowed to sell them because they had a line up of customers that needed them. One dealer, before I even gave the part number, stopped me and said your calling about the rear springs because they had so many inquiries. To me this sounds like there is an issue with the rear springs for Honda odyssey from the year 2018-2020 and that this should be a recalled item. No way is it a coincidence that there no springs available because of a random part shortage. It’s more likely it’s a poorly manufactured part and they are all breaking 5-7 years in to their life span. I believe this should be investigated as Honda probably knows the part is defective. This should be a part that is recalled and the cost of repair covered by Honda. Currently my odyssey can’t e driven for safety reasons until the parts (spring) comes in which could be month. I can give you the dealers I contacted and part number.

1. While I was driving on the freeway, my radio turned off and my car put itself into NEUTRAL! I was able to safely pull over and put it back in drive. Note: This incident happened after 2 months of weird electrical things happening to the car, such as the radio turning on after the car had been turned off, car not starting, sliding doors losing power when they are halfway closed, coming to a stop and putting the car in park then the car completely loses all power/interior lights, the car turning off while stopped at a light and more... 2. Had there been more traffic I would have been in major danger. I could have easily been rear-ended or hit someone in the process of trying to get off of the freeway. It could have caused a multiple car collision. Grateful my children were not in the car at the time of the incident. 3. The car has been inspected by Spreen Honda multiple times and by an independent Honda mechanic. Spreen Honda has not been able to reproduce the problem. They won't do anything besides hook it up to the computer, and since there are no codes present "there is nothing they can do". The independent mechanic said they'd never seen anything like this. When I reported the incident to Honda America, they recommended I should continue taking the car to the dealership, which makes no sense as the dealership does not actually attempt to diagnose the problem if there is no code. 4. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle. When I reported this to Honda America they encouraged me to continue working with the dealership service department only. They don't take information from 3rd party service providers. This is completely unacceptable. 5. Right before the car shifted to neutral, the radio turned off and the dash lit up orange.

1. Incident: I was driving and stopped at a red light, took my foot off of the brake and the car completely died, leaving me stranded at the intersection. The car started back up after 4 minutes. Note: This incident happened after 2 months of weird electrical things happening to the car, such as the radio turning on after the car had been turned off, car not starting, sliding doors losing power when they are halfway closed, coming to a stop and putting the car in park then the car completely loses all power/interior lights, and more... 2. My safety was put at risk by having a non-functioning car in the middle of the road. Someone could have rear-ended me. Also, it was over 100 degrees outside which added to the panic I was feeling. 3. The car has been inspected by Spreen Honda multiple times and by an independent Honda mechanic. Spreen Honda has not been able to reproduce the problem. They won't do anything besides hook it up to the computer, and since there are no codes present "there is nothing they can do". The independent mechanic said they'd never seen anything like this. 4. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle. When I reported this to Honda America they encouraged me to continue working with the dealer. This is completely unacceptable. 5. Right before the power went out the dash lit up with every warning lamp for maybe 5 seconds.

Vehicle stalls when pulling out into traffic! Terrifying with my 6 kids and I'm immediately getting rid of this vehicle. Tried to have the fuel pump (current recall) replaced but Honda dealership has the vehicle for 6 DAYS! and still didn't have the part in. Upon dropping the vehicle off the tailgate lift would not work properly. This van is a load of garbage since they started using so many modules to control it! Extremely disappointed in Honda. They know all of these faulty parts and don't care enough to fix them for the safety of the consumer. Absolutely horrifying the direction of the automobile industry.

CLEARED ALL DTCS AND RECHECKED. DTC U3000-49 MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA UNIT/MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR INTERNAL ELECTRONIC FAILURE CAME BACK ON. PERFORMED TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE FOR DTC U3000-49 AND FOUND A FAULTY MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA. RECOMMEND TO REPLACE MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA FIRST AND RECHECK.

The front facing camera located at the top of the windshield goes bad and affects multiple systems. The manufacturer is aware of this issue. While the part only costs $150 - the dealerships want to charge upwards of $2000 to replace the camera - they say that owners are not allowed to replace it themselves. You cannot disable the advanced features. This issue is extremely common across all Honda models that use this camera.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated. The contact stated that the failure started several months ago and became a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the engine was hesitating. The contact was informed that the air filter needed to be replaced. In addition, the contact was informed that the Petra GDI fuel system needed to be serviced and the TCM software needed to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that parts were not yet available. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
1.5 weeks after servicing vehicle at the dealership (oil change and tire rotation) Warning lights come on beeping upon starting vehicle. The following systems are malfunctioning... -collision mitigation syatem problem -adaptive cruise Control problem -lane keep assistance problem -road departure mitigation system problem -auto high beam problem. This also removes any ability to use regular cruise control in any capacity (even without adaptive cruise control on) Honda certified mechanic diagnosed code : U3000-49 as a bad Multipurpose Camera Unit. Parts alone cost $1,200 then labor and cost to calibrate (which must be done at dealer). The cost of this repair to MAJOR safety features would be over $2,000. This is a safety related issue that should be recalled immediately. We do not currently feel safe in our 2018 Honda Odyssey, nor do we have $2,000 to complete this repair. Our research (a few screenshots attached) of this malfunction of the Multipurpose Camera Unit shows widespread issues on 2018 odysseys in particular. To me that warrants an investigation and recall. A dealer actually told me "you don't need those features to drive the vehicle". Well, we don't NEED a backup camera and it was recalled. Why? Because we don't want to run over small children. I would like to be able use ALL safety featured on my vehicle. This isn't an entertainment system. It is the major safety feature on our family vehicle, which we saved for years to purchase. We ask that Honda consider the safety ramifications of NOT recalling this malfunctioning camera unit and do the right thing in issuing a recall.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle stalled, and the brakes seized inadvertently. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that the failure recurred on another occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be replicated. Additionally, the contact stated that the Lane Departure and other Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights were illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while making a turn from a complete stop, the vehicle responded, but suddenly stalled. The contact continuously depressed the accelerator pedal until the vehicle responded. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact related the failure to the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair; however, the dealer informed the contact that a diagnostic test was needed prior to the recall repair. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provide no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

One day my car just turned on. Lights come on will not turn off. Dashboard lights up with every symbol blinking, relays under the hood turning off turning on non-stop. Took it to the Honda dealer, who said I needed a VSA module. Only catch here is the part will not be available until October 2024. 4 months from now. Was told they put me at the bottom of the list as my car is 7 years old. Newer vehicles get priority. Rich people first poor people last. When it would run car would randomly just turn off while driving. Car unsafe to operate.

My vehicle started to show warning: Collision MitigationSystem Problem/ Road Departure Mitigation System Problem/ Adaptive Cruise Control Problem / Lane Keeping Assist Problem/ Auto High-Beam Problem. I took it back to Honda dealership and was told the Multipurpose Camera is damaged and needed to be changed. They asked if I have a vehicle accident and I told them I HAVE NOT BEEN IN ONE. I don’t understand why this just starts up all of a sudden and have seen other people complaining of this same problem.
