Back in mid January, there was a winter storm in our area that hit overnight. Mild snow, but predominantly ice. Heading into work the next morning, I needed to use my defroster (both front and rear) to allow visibility with my windshields. I was able the clear the ice off my window and arrived safely to work. 8 hours later I headed home and again there was still some ice on my rear-windshield which prompted the use of my rear defroster. On my way home (less than 15mins from work) I did not notice any changes in visibility. Once I arrived home, I discovered that my entire rear-windshield was uniformly shattered, still intact, but shattered. Seems as though my window shattered sometime during the work day. The next day I went to my dealership as my car is still under warranty and had only been purchased less than 15 months prior. The service advisor informed me there was nothing they could do for me. Informed them of my research, as I was not the only 2023 Honda HR-V with this issue and stated that this was something that needed to be addressed by them or American Honda. At the start of February I got a response from the service advisor that my case was approved at the district level, but there were no windows available. Unrelated to the window, I was in a separate accident which prompted removal of my broken window to fix the body. The repairs were completed within two weeks and was released with crash-wrap hoping I could immediately transfer it over to Honda, but there still was no window available. I reached out to American Honda hoping for some assistance and still have no results. While i now get weekly updates on status, there is no guarantee of product delivery. It is now end of April, I have been without a window since end of February (broken window since mid-January). While my case is classified as critical, I still have no answers as to when I can/will have a window.

In our 2024 Honda HRV, If you are holding the steering wheel at 12 and turn it to 12:02 or to 11:58 there is stickiness, once the going past the stickiness there is then a jerk in the wheel.

I pulled my car into my driveway on April 22, 2024 and got out of the car to assist my husband with his walker. We heard a big BANG at the back of the car. When we walked behind the car we found that the rear window had completely shattered. It had been raining and we had the reat window defogger running in the car. If this had happened while the car was moving it could have caused an accident with all of the glass falling out onto the road and endangering the cars behind me. I have called Safelite to come to my house to replace the glass as I don't feel safe driving the car like this.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My HRV with 1800 miles suddenly stopped in an intersection only after owning the vehicle for 2 weeks. The Honda dealership tested the computer system, drove the car, and found no abnormalities. The dealership then asked that i pick up the car and drive it as they were unable to replicate the problem. If it were to happen again I was to let them know. I made it clear that I was not going to take the car back as I believed that the driving the car was posed a safety issue.

While driving, with my rear defrost on, my rear window shattered. It was loud, and very scary. I’m glad my kids weren’t in the backseat. Brought it straight to my local Honda dealership where my vehicle was purchased and was surprised to hear they knew of the issue but no recall had been issued.

The rear windshield spontaneously shattered. It was in the late evening and I had put on the rear defogger. It made a loud sound. My infant daughter and toddler son were in the backseat when it happened. I contacted American Honda (Corporate) and reported it as I read online that hundreds of HR-Vs are having this issue due to the rear defogger. The Honda dealer inspected it and they ordered the part and will be replacing it. We had to pay for a rental car in the meantime, which I didn't feel I should have to pay for since it's a car defect. But corporate said it should be covered under my warranty (I lease the car). There were no warning messages or anything to know this was going to happen. This sounds like the beginning of a recall that needs to be put on HR-Vs immediately.

The steering wheel keeps clicking, feels stiff, and hard to move while driving. I felt unsafe driving my vehicle so I took it to the dealership and they said my steering gear box was the problem. The dealership said there weren't any recalls for the steering gear box and that there was 6 other 2023 honda hrv with the same problem. They said they could order a part for $3000 but because the part is on back order they don't know when my car will be fixed. No warning lights came on.

Windshield wipers suddenly just stopped working without warning while I was driving my 2022 Honda HRV (36,603 miles) during a rainfall. Thankfully I was not on the interstate and I was able to pull over into a parking lot. I took my car to the Napleton Honda Morton Grove Illinois where they inspected my vehicle. They said I need to replace the windshield wiper motor and linkage ($1100!). The car gave me NO warning messages leading up this this event. This could have been catastrophic to me and other drivers if I were in a heavy rainstorm on the interstate when this windshield wiper failure occurred. Please investigate to see if a recall is needed.

The steering wheel sticks when traveling straight. In order to maneuver the wheel a bit to stay in the lanes you have to jerk the wheel. It is not smooth but sticks and need to jerk the wheel.

Rear windshield shattered due to windshield defroster and have not received a recall notice. Safety of driver and other can be at risk, as once shattered, cannot drive at normal speed affecting others nearby and, depending on wind speed, glass continuously falls off and can even fly forward to passengers until it's been replaced. Honda is aware of this issue, but has yet to issue a recall. The vehicle has not been addressed by anyone other than Auto Glass Now, who installed new rear windshield. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptom of the issue prior to the shatter. No police report was submitted, as no vehicles or objects were obstructed at the time the event occurred. I was simply able to pull over.

Rear hatch window exploded on Jan 12th, 2024. Honda claims its related to the rear defroster in use or improper installation where the adhesive used comes in contact with the heating elements causing a hot spot in the glass thus exploding. The window was replaced on April 12th, 2024. The issue I have is Honda is NOT guaranteeing the replacement and just stating the warranty of 3 years / 36,000 miles. I waited 3 months for "the fix" and no guarantee? I will discuss further with the dealership.

Sudden HARD braking when a vehicle is passing Windows that do not close properly and are then prone to sudden slamming shut (will eventually shatter) Have been in to have these repaired only to have them not repaired and even refused due to dealer fear of not being reimbursed This is an ongoing issue with honda

Push start/stop button was noting working properly (this had a recall and was replaced). However after it was repaired, I noticed the right-sided gas gauge with service repair numbers, milage etc is not working properly; the gas guage and service repair codes disappear and/or are scrambled. I took this to the Honda dealership in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and was told by the service advisor (Drew Mechley) that their mechanic said he doesn't think it is related to the start/stop button repair but this is a common probelm seen with HR-Vs. I also found multiple forums with people experiencing the same issue. Here is one of the forums [XXX] . I am concerned this is a safety issue as I cannot see when my gas is out and cannot see when a service code displays for needed maintenance that could damage the vehicle if it is not completed. Was told over the that it is likely an electrical panel issue in the dashboard display (they did not put this in the service report as they wanted additional money for further diagnostic which I did not complete). I worry that the electrical issue could eventually affect the speed gauge on the dashboard. Due to this being a common issue seen in the HR-V with both consumers and Honda mechanics, I feel a recall should be issued. The steering wheel "sticks". Lane control is off and when driving and making any slight adjustments or beginning to turn, you have to break a slight sticking of the wheel. When stopped the steering wheel does not stick

POWER TRAIN
The transmission is making a growling sound, also while driving at time when go to accelerate faster on freeway it stays where it's at even if you push pedal all the way down. Took to Honda dealer they acknowledge something is wrong with transmission but don't know what, so they want me to wait until a light comes on and to bring it back. I called Honda Corp but they were no help at all. Told them I was only 2500 miles from being out of warranty and if they could extend the warranty but was told no, but they would note about the problem. I am worried about my safety as they do acknowledge that there is a problem but dont know what and want me to continue driving it. I drive lots of miles everyday due to the type of work that I do. I was told not to worry because even if transmission fails while driving I always have my brakes still. Not much comfort in that responce.

STEERING
Steering gear box defective my steering was sticking and pulling me both to the right and left had to keep correcting the steering. The problem was there earlier but thought it could be the lane assist however lane assist was not activated. The problem started out not too bad but got progressively worse. Had to fight steering car to keep on my lane. Took to dealer on March 7th 2024 . They told me car was not safe to drive. So car is on lot at dealers and the part is backordered the Eta for part is 9/6/3024 purchased car in July2023 has about 5000 miles. On it now

Faulty design by honda for sunroof drain tubes. Clogged drain tubes cause water to intrude cabin and get fuse panel wet and inoperperable. Nothing about drain tube maintenace in manual. Honda denied repair stating because of rain. No easy access to clean drain tubes on vehicle. Cost me over $2000 for repairs to be made. Had to replace all fuses and fuse panel.

The contact owns a 2023 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH with the rear defogger activated, within 15 minutes of the defogger being activated, the rear windshield imploded. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with a claim number. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000.
