After I bought this new Honda CRV 2023 car, the steering started to feel sticky after a few thousand miles. This rigid or sticky steering begins after 10-15 min of driving. Issue: Steering starts to feel very rigid while driving, irrespective of highway or local streets, and it feels very rigid to turn. This is a safety concern as the car does not go how we want during driving, which can lead to severe accidents. I've reported these issues the last three times when I took the car to service at verified Honda service centers, and none of them accepted or looked at the issue. I still feel this issue every time I take the car out. There should be a recall from Honda to fix this issue as soon as possible to avoid serious accidents. Please help us (drivers, passengers, and pedestrians) be safe on the roads by attending to this issue as soon as possible. Thank you!

Honda was using an "indirect" tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) for several years, from at least 2020 to 2024. This indirect system shows a Low Tire indicator on the dash when a change in tire pressure on any of the four tires changes. It does NOT indicate which tire is affected. Thus, you are forced to check all four tires manually. This requires that you find a safe place to pull over and check the tires. You have no way to know if you are getting a flat without exiting the car. The system is VERY sensitive and will indicate Low Pressure if the change is even for a couple of pounds. I recently met someone who had the exact same vehicle as mine. We compared notes. Her CRV does the same thing and we both have experienced a bit of anxiety from it. Honda will tell you to "just recalibrate the system", but that does nothing but tell the vehicle that the tires are now OK at the new levels--even if one is low. This is a safety and performance issue. A Honda salesman told me today that they have gone back to a Direct system with individual tire pressure indicators on the new models. Apparently there have been a LOT of complaints.

- #11595260June 19, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I purchased a Honda CRV in 2018, and from the first day of driving it home, my dashboard displayed numerous warning signs. I immediately returned to the dealer, where they diagnosed and claimed to fix the issue. The vehicle ran fine for a couple of months, but the same problem reoccurred at least twice within the next six months. Each time, I scheduled an appointment with the dealership, and they assured me that all issues were resolved. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was unable to use my vehicle for two years. Over the past 12 months, the same issue has resurfaced. When I approached the dealer, they refused to repair it, citing that the vehicle is now out of warranty. This issue has persisted since day one and was never truly resolved, occurring intermittently. I have opened multiple cases with Honda America and worked with them for nearly six months. Despite this, I have not received any clear communication or resolution. They claim to have discussed the issue with the dealership and local Honda representatives, but always return with the same response: the case is denied. The Honda America agent insists there is nothing wrong despite the warning signs. The major concern is that when these warnings appear, I am unable to use advanced features like cruise control and lane change assistance. My teenage daughter, who also drives this vehicle, becomes panicked and frightened whenever these warnings appear. I urgently need help from your team to resolve this issue, as both the Honda dealers and local representatives have been unresponsive to my claims. Thank you for your assistance. I received notification from Honda of a recall on my battery cable harness. The defect increases the likelihood of a fire during a crash. The notification was revevied in January so I called to make an appointment to have it repaired. I was told the part was not available and to call back in 30-days. I contacted another dealer in my area and they told me the same thing. I've been calling every 30-days and get the same response, "call back in 30-days." The notifiation states if I can't get the repair done within 60-days of trying to make an appointment, I could file a complaint with your agency. Therefore, I'm doing just that. It's been almost 5 months.

My car is having sticking steering and creaky noise when it turns. I googled this online. They have over 500,000 cars with the same issue. I went to get it checked out they want me to pay $3400 to get this fixed. I believe this is a major safety issue. Steering sticks at high speed very scary. The parts are on backorder, which leads me to believe there’s multiple cars having same issue. what I read into this is that Honda is more worried about the profit versus the safety of their consumers and their loyal consumers. that is over 500,000 cars with the same issue. Honda should be fixing these for charge. I have an injured in this car. It is the only one I have to drive. Before they fix it. I think they should fix it for free because it’s obviously a defect and 100,000 cars and therefore their liability to protect their customers. When you call her number, they talk about safety. They don’t give a dam about safety they only care about making a profit.

Important safety recall unresolved. There are defects to the internal short circuit from environmental humidity. This issue may cause the airbags to deploy and increase the risk of injury. There is a limited supply of parts; according to the recall letter, the dealership confirmed the current status. I called the manufacturer's care program and was told there are no changes in the status of the recall being repaired.

Concerning my 2018 CR-V, with about 42,000 miles. While driving the steering wheel hesitates and then releases. This has gotten progressively worse over the last month. The local dealer diagnosed it as "internal steering rack failure." I was surprised that there isn't a recall on this model. A vehicle of this age and mileage should not have problems like this. It is obviously a manufacturers defect. Lack of steering control is a safety issue and I believe Honda should recall this model for repair at their expense.

We bought a 2018 Honda CRV in 2021, certified pre-owned. About a year ago (2023), we started having steering issues. When the wheel is turned to the right, there's a creaking noise and palpable resistance (i.e. like the wheel is catching on something). This requires the driver to slightly force the wheel back to center. We informed the dealer about this problem one year ago, but they said they could not replicate the issue. It has gotten worse, and they replicated the problem this year and diagnosed it as "an internal problem with the power steering rack" - something related to the torque. We are surprised that this kind of failure would happen at under 100k miles. We are also disappointed that this part appears to be on an "indefinite back order," assumedly because this is a known recurrent issue that has depleted stock of the part. Our dealer has told us that this is a problem that will only get worse, and we are worried about unknown safety issues if we cannot control the steering.

- #11595171June 18, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on [XXX] with moderate traffic, going approximately 70 mph. I was traveling in the #1 (left most) lane. I had been using Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) for several hours without any problems. ACC started behaving differently: instead of automatically applying the brakes when the vehicle in front slowed down, I had to press the break peddle manually. This happed twice before the car suddenly, unexpectedly, applied full braking force. I had to take emergency action to avoid being hit by the vehicle behind me and quickly move onto the left shoulder. My vehicle completed its stop on the shoulder. A message flashed on the instrument panel (I believe it was related to the brakes), I was too busy getting off the road to read it. After the vehicle stopped, the brakes released, and I was again able to drive. I turned off ACC and re-entered the freeway (with some difficulty, as traffic was moving very fast). We continued our journey to our destination without cruise control activated. There were no further problems. I took my vehicle into the dealer when I returned from our trip. They inspected it and checked for codes. There were no codes. They did a short test drive and had no problems. The said vehicle needed software updates and did them. Updated EBB, EVPS, and updated ACC/CMBS and PGM F/I software. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I have been trying to get Honda to perform the safety recall since January 2024 (NHTSA Recall Number 23V-844). The dealer (Parker Johnstone's Wilsonville Honda) says the parts are unavailable. American Honda Motor Company customer service was unhelpful and told me to contact a dealer. Honda case #[XXX]. While driving on the interstate the engine lost power and entered some sort of limp or low power mode. There were no warnings or indications of any problems on the dashboard. I was in heavy traffic at the time and suddenly a risk to others on the road and myself as the vehicle slowed dramatically despite my attempts to keep up with the flow of traffic. I had the dealer look at the vehicle and they indicated that the headgasket was in the early stages of failing. They indicated that the low power mode was due to engine misfires due to coolant in the combustion chamber. They did not have any explanation as to why a malfunction indicator light was not set nor did a light ever set. No check engine lights, no messages on the driver instrumentation display.

The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed the contact that there was an extreme amount of rust to the frame of the vehicle. The bolts failed to release due to the extreme rust. The vehicle was not able to be placed on the lift due to frame rust. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 133,267. Parts distribution disconnect.

All dashboard lights come on occasionally, since 40k miles. Car now has 70k. I've had it serviced regularly and battery replaced, nothing seems to work on preventing this from happening. Dangerous if system is reading that there is an issue when there is not, and it affects performance of the vehicle until they turn off on there own. Happens anywhere between 50 and +500 miles, no rhyme or reason outside of possibly linked to remote starter, which tends to more consistently occur when using.

The passenger car door unlocks for no reason. It used to automatically lock when I start driving , now it starts to open and will not remain locked while driving, or when I lock my car door when I park. When I use the key fob the car alarm goes off and the door is still unlocked. This car has had a recall on the airbags. The light comes on once in a while. It was fixed by the Honda Dealership but recently, once in a while , the light still comes on. It is concerning . The air pressure warning light will remain on even after I have had my tires checked.
