- #11597703June 29, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving the Honda CRV down a main road. There was no traffic in front of me. I was traveling at a rate of 45 or so miles an hour. Without warning, the emergency breaking system activated briefly. There was nothing in front of the vehicle that should’ve caused the system to deploy. This is the only time I have experienced this issue. Fortunately, there were no cars behind me traveling at a close distance. The brake deployed only briefly but it caused the tires to screech. I was able to maintain control of the vehicle.

After the vehicle has reached operating temperature The steering feels like it sticks at center at highway speeds. So if I try to correct the steering a minor amount I have to apply extra force to get the wheel to move and I end up over correcting causing me to do this action over and over again. I've also observed that on long turns the steering wheel sticks and also makes clicking noises at times. No wanring lights or indicators turned on when having these issues.

My car shudders when I accelerate from a stop position and during the stop, the engine revs really hard. I had an appointment to see the Honda service department on Wednesday, June 26 for a diagnostic. However, on my way home from a medical appointment on Tuesday, June 25, I stopped at the CVS. In the parking lot, in the parked position, the car shuddered violently and then I received these notices, power system problem, transmission system problem, blind spot information system problem and emissions system problem. All directed me to see the dealer

The vehicle stopped automatically while driving. The automated braking applied even though there was no vehicle in front. This is scary as it might lead to a fatal incident on highway or when the vehicle on back is close. I reported the incident to American Honda and was expecting to receive courtesy free inspection and repairs needed. But they said as the vehicle is outside of warranty period, I will have to bear the cost of inspection and repair if required which is very disappointing. I believe it's related to ABS malfunction. I researched online and found similar issues reported by others. This is a very concerning as the vehicle came into full stop while driving all of a sudden even though there was no vehicle in front. This incident happened today. My vehicle has around 45k mileage as of today.

I am experiencing steering wheel sticking and clunkig after the car warms up and typically 40 minutes into the drive. The dealership has denied this and claimed it was a low voltage issue with the battery. While turning in a gentle curve it sticks and requires more effort to steer and also makes a clucking sound. I am concerned about the ability to control my vehicle and that if the steering sticks I may crash. I have reported the issue with Honda but they say that all I can do is take the car to the dealership for diagnostics. Two different dealerships have had it for extended times and claimed nothing is wrong however I have video of me driving and this occuring on multiple occassions. Honda's denial of this issue will cause injuries to bystanders. No warning lights have come on. The issues began in november of 2023 and are progressively getting worse.

I was driving on a 2 lane road. There were no other vehicles on the road. The word brake flashed on the dashboard and the car suddenly braked hard. Items on my back seat fell to the floor. The car then resumed normal driving. There was no wind or items blowing across the path of the road. This has not happened before. If there had been a car behind me it might have caused an accident. The vehicle has not been inspected by any entity.

As of a month ago, when doing left turns the vehicle turning was increasingly stiffened. When driving, the steering wheel slightly locks requiring extra force to take turns even if slightly. Recently, there has been increased stiffness when making right turns and a clicking noise when turning the steering wheel. The vehicle was brought into the local Honda dealership and after diagnosis, it was discovered that the issue is common with the year as there is a current recall on vehicles of the same year, however, the VIN of our vehicle is not included. The issue as stated by the dealership is, "gearbox is binding internal causing lock-up in the steering wheel." It was recommended to service the vehicle as it is unsafe to drive. This issue is unable to be fixed currently as the part is on backorder due to the high volume of vehicles affected by the recall. We were told to contact Honda to inform them about the issue and to discuss what can be done as it is occurring in other vehicles affected by the recall.

I went to Honda to get my car serviced & I told them i was experiencing my steering wheel sticking every time I drive & make turns or change lanes. Sometimes the car will notify me to brake but there is nothing Infront of me & the vehicle. The dealership told me that they had never heard of such thing that the steering wheel sticking. They informed me that there was a back order on this car part & unable to tell me when they would receive it. In the meantime, I have to drive with a defective car & hoping nothing happens to me while Im driving. They didnt even have any sympathy or say sorry. It's disappointing that honda doesnt offer a loaner that would be the least they can do. I've waited over a month to get the car fixed. I had been so scared driving my car to & from work always getting stuck. I finally got a call that they received the steering wheel part and that i need to come in right away. It took more than a month to get it fixed. This should not have been happening and I was so surprised they knew about this issue before leasing this car to me, putting me & my family in danger.

My 2024 Honda CRV-Hybrid was sold to me with a defective back-up camera. The back-up camera starts in color and changes to black and white 98% of the time. I noticed the problem when I was driving the vehicle home from the dealership. I brought the vehicle into the dealership at 300 miles. I was told Honda Corporate is aware of the problem and has no remedy or solution to fix. I called Honda Corporate and opened a case. I was told by Honda Corporate to take the vehicle back to the dealership. I brought it again to the dealership at 587 miles. The dealership refused to see me for the problem. I was sold a vehicle that is known by Honda to have a defective back-up camera. This is fraud.

This recall is unresolvable and is preventing Honda from certifying my vehicle to refinance it. The part is NOT broke, I can't fix it because it's not broke, and until all recalls are cleared on my vehicle, it can't be certified. This is RECALL INFORMATION [XXX] Issue: Honda Financial will NOT approve a loan without an outstanding recall. -Open Recall – See below -My vehicle is experiencing NO issues; the light/sensor is not impacted -I offered to have it replaced/fixed – Honda doesn’t allow this -I carry full insurance and am required to when the vehicle is financed. -I have a history of maintaining the vehicle; I don't believe that it’s my fault it’s not broken. -My vehicle is appropriate collateral for this car loan ECOA VIOLATION Honda Financial has violated the VA Fairness in Lending Act, Truth in Lending Act, and Equal Credit Opportunity Act. I am being denied a loan for no reasonable reason or plainly stated: Honda is denying creditworthiness based on collateral they deem doesn’t qualify, but there is NO remedy to qualify, and the only entity to qualify is the affiliate corporation of the lending institute. The issue involves the steering of the vehicle at highway speeds. The steering gets stuck going straight and requires more force than usual to steer the vehicle. It feels like the straight line steering is stuck in position and then it suddenly gives way. This happens on most highway journeys at the moment between 50 and 70 mph. Because extra force is needed to push the steering out of the straight line position, it is possible to push too hard and change position in the lane without intending too. This then needs to be corrected. I noticed this one time before and took my vehicle in to Honda but they were not able to rectify. It is now happening much more frequently.

Specifically: Trouble maintaining lane - requires significant steering/correction Steering sticks in place on curves and must be manually corrected Steering sticks and makes “clicking” or “creaking” noise at slow speeds I’ve had the car checked out at the dealership twice and they’ve been unable to find any problem. However, problem persists.
