Steering sticks at a certain point of turning which makes it difficult to maintain a straight path and has almost caused a collision due to the fact that you end up over correcting your current path so you may vere into the other lane. The problem occurs at different times and seems to be at it's peak when it's hot outside and gives no warning lights or any other visible signs as to when it will occur. I bought the car used and it had around 20,000 miles on it, I noticed the issue soon after that. I have not had the problem looked at yet because it has been manageable but I fear that it may get worse and I know I'm not the only one with this issue. My vehicle may be inspected up on request.

- #11608996August 16, 2024STEERING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
My car was purchased used with 79k miles and the longer the car is running, the stiffer the steering wheel becomes. Any small moments are stiff and make the car jerk to much and it causes me to have to fight to keep the car in a straight line while driving. Lane keeping assistance is also driving way too close to one side since the steering wheel causes the car to struggle to make any small changes. It gets close to cars that are next to me and can potentially cause an accident if I make one small move. They appeared for me on 8/15 and I purchased this car on 8/14. A steering wheel should be smooth and not so stiff. I have an appointment coming up on Monday for a diagnostic but I am afraid they’ll tell me it’s out of warranty or there is nothing wrong with it. Which is impossible since so many others like me are having the same issue. My car needs to become part of this recall to be able to afford to change the steering shell rack or fix what needs to be fixed for my safety and those around me.

The steering system "sticks" when driving at highway speed. Minor course corrections require excessive driver input and once the resistance is overcome, overcorrection results in undesired swerving of the vehicle. This has the potential to cause loss of control of the vehicle. This vehicle has not been in an accident. The local Honda dealership has examined the vehicle and recommended replacement of the electronic power steering rack.

I purchased the 2023 Honda Civic Sport as a certified pre-owned vehicle from Key Honda in Rutland, VT. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I began noticing what I would classify as sticky steering when driving down roads above 35mph or so AND when the ambient air temperature was 40 degrees fahrenheit or colder. The steering requires more effort from the driver to break it free from the stuck position, and it occurs after traveling straight for a period of time. This is definitely a safety risk as overcorrection could cause an accident or could cause the vehicle to leave the roadway. I have brought the vehicle to Key Honda in Rutland VT for diagnostics and they informed me some newer Honda Civic vehicles do have defective power steering boxes or defective steering racks, but according to Honda my vehicle is not considered to be one of the vehicles with the known defective steering components. I respectfully disagree and urge you to press Honda to expand the list of Honda vehicles that are included in this recall bulletin. Thank you.

A/C Evaporator went bad. Dealership already replaced other A/C components as part of extended warranty/recalls. However, the evaporator is not covered by the extended warranty. Could lead to incredibly high temperatures within the car or other components failing/overheating. Dealership quoted $2400 to fix the evaporator.

The abs speed sensor on honda vehicles are placed in such a way that is breaks often. And when it breaks, it leads to multiple sensors going off which may cause the abs to lock up while braking normally, car accelerating unexpectedly. For me the speed sensor on the right wheel was broken. This lead the car to accelerate unexpectedly and then the sensors would go off. Car accelerating and braking in a weird way would definitely lead to some issues. And when you go to the dealership for this issue, first they won't be able to diagnose it. They will simple reset the codes and say uts an intermittent failure and charge you 100 dollars for nothing. Then you have to go again the other day with the same issue and then they tell you its speed sensor. I think that's a bad service and since honda knows of this beong common issue with how they have placed the sensor it should be recalled.

The car stalls randomly when turning on, and it just cranks but doesn’t start. This has happened to me 6 times already. I took it to Braman Honda Dealer in Miami and they said that because it is not happening "now" referring to the time of the visit. It cannot be identified or repaired. There are no parts available for the recall . What is this? I need someone to help me out.

While driving straight there is slippage in the steering that causes the driver to over compensate. Steering feels loose. I think I need to trade this vehicle in before something bad happens. Honda has very poor customer service. The dealerships are aweful and theives.

For about a month, I've noticed sporadic changes in steering feel. It can happen while making minute changes going straight (when you shouldn't really feel the steering at all) or on rounded turns. The steering is heavy, like the feel when lane keep assist activates, but it's happening when lane keep isn't on, so the heaviness is more steering force than usual for the conditions. It happens for an instant and then is back to normal. When new, the steering feel on this car was wonderful, which is why it's been so noticeable recently. There are no warning lights or messages on the dash. I have not raised with a dealer yet.
