SummarySome 2018-2019 Explorer/Expedition/F-150/F-Super Duty/Taurus vehicles equipped with a forward collision warning head up display (HUD) may exhibit various warning indicators caused by a possible intermittent lack of HS2-CAN network communication. If the concern cannot be duplicated, place the vehicle in direct sunlight for 15 to 30 minutes to increase the temperature of the HUD and retest. If the concern is present, disconnect the HUD and check for proper HS2-CAN network communication. If proper HS2-CAN network communication is achieved, then HUD module replacement is likely needed. If disconnecting the HUD does not re-establish communication, the HUD is not at fault, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 418-00, PPT AL for diagnostics.

SummarySome 2016-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a SYNC 3 Touchscreen may experience the volume control unresponsive from the Front Control Interface Module (FCIM) and steering volume controls when using Apple Car Play. When the Apple device is removed, volume control is restored. This is due to a concern with the Waze Navigation App software and Apple iOS version. To correct the condition, update the Waze App software and iOS to the latest version available and reboot the customer's Apple device. Perform an ignition cycle and reconnect the Apple device via USB. Open Apple Car Play and confirm volume control is restored. Installing/Updating third party software/applications is not warrantable.

SummarySome 2017-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2B11, P2B13, P2B15, P2B17, P2B19, P2B1B, P2B1D and/or P2B1F. If these codes have set with a customer complaint of abnormal steering wheel oscillation, clear these DTCs and address any steering related concerns. If these DTCs do not return, do not make any fuel injector related repairs. The abnormal steering wheel oscillation event may be generating noise on the camshaft or crankshaft sensor frequency resulting in these DTCs to set.

SummarySome 2017-2019 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the 6.2L engine may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2004 and/or P2005. This may be due to a tear or crack on the intake manifold vacuum hoses resulting in a vacuum leak. Before performing normal diagnostics, inspect the intake manifold vacuum hoses. If a tear or crack is identified, intake manifold assembly replacement is not required. The vacuum hose assemblies are available as a lower level service part (base part 9E498).

SummarySome 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA) may require the removal of the factory equipped tail lamps to accommodate the use of aftermarket equipment. Once the tail lamps are removed, this may result in BLIS and CTA warning indicators illuminated in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). To clear these warning indicators, the BLIS and CTA systems will need to be disabled using the FDRS scan tool. Start a vehicle session in FDRS using the vehicles VIN and go to the toolbox tab. Locate the application labeled Disable/Enable Blind Spot Information System. Download and run this application to enable or disable the BLIS And CTA systems.

SummarySome 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles built on or before 24-Feb-2020 may not have the instrument panel cluster (IPC) configured for operation with the Factory Invoiced Accessory (FIA) or as a Genuine Ford Accessory trailer tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The customer may indicate that they cannot monitor the trailer TPMS through the IPC when a configured trailer is connected. If the 'Trailer Tire Pressure' selection is not available in the IPC, the IPC will need to be reconfigured to make the Trailer Tire Pressure selection available. Using the latest version of the FDRS scan tool, reconfigure the IPC. For claiming use causal part 10849 and refer to Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

SummarySome 2012-2020 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with a TCU may exhibit an inoperative remote start with a 'Vehicle Failed To Start' message when using MyFord Mobile/Ford Pass/Lincoln Way mobile applications. The cellular cloud systems will only allow two remote start requests from the MyFord Mobile/Ford Pass/Lincoln Way apps without a vehicle drive event occurring. If a third remote start request is received, a Vehicle Failed To Start message will be displayed quickly in the mobile app. Once the vehicle is driven, the remote start counter is reset and will allow remote start commands to be sent from the mobile app. If the remote start system is not functioning using the key fob, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM) Section 303-06 for further diagnosis.

SummarySome 2020 F-350, F-450, and F-550 F-Super Duty chassis cab vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and 10R140 automatic transmission may exhibit a delay/bump feel when pulling away from a stop. This may be due to the neutral idle feature that automatically reduces the load on the engine when the vehicle stops, and the gear selector is in DRIVE to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The transmission automatically resumes operation when the brake is released. The neutral idle feature activates when the transmission is sufficiently warmed, and the vehicle is on level grade. Do not attempt any repairs for this condition. Refer to Owners Manual Transmission Section for more information.
