SummarySome vehicles equipped with SYNC4 may exhibit one or more of the following symptoms after all currently available accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software updates have been performed. - General system performance, stability, and intermittent system reboots. - Intermittent Wireless CarPlay or Android Auto function. - Phone related concerns with intermittent No Audio or Static. - Navigation/global positioning system (GPS) related concerns through CarPlay and Android Auto. - Alexa function consistency and stability. These symptoms may be due to the software in the APIM. Replacing the APIM will not resolve these symptoms for the customer. Before returning the vehicle to the customer, review the procedures within Workshop Manual, Section 415-00 and ensure the latest APIM software is installed. Refer to General Service Bulletin (GSB) 23-7146 for help determining the latest available level of software. IMPORTANT: some module software updates will only display as available on Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) after prerequisite modules are updated. This may require the technician to update certain modules multiple times during the service visit, before the latest APIM software is accessible in FDRS. If symptoms continue after latest APIM software has been installed, inform customers that Ford is working on additional software enhancements which are expected to be delivered over-the-air (OTA) by Q4 2024 on F-150, F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, Mustang, Escape, Corsair, Expedition, Navigator, Bronco, Mustang, and 2023-2024 F-Super Duty. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. For all other vehicles with SYNC4, schedule a service visit for customers in October 2024, when the updated APIM software is expected to be available to dealers. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SummarySome 2024 F-150 Lightning vehicles placed in emergency tow state may exhibit a missing pop-up message from the instrument panel cluster (IPC) during early vehicle re-entry with the key in the OFF position. If the vehicle has not fully entered sleep mode or locked, entry through any door within 10-30 minutes may not induce pop-up message visibility when the key is still in the OFF position. Changing the ignition key state to ON will result in a visible emergency tow pop-up message in the IPC. This may be due to the IPC software. Replacement or reprogramming of the IPC will not resolve this condition. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA) expected in Q4 2024. Software will update automatically if vehicle connectivity is enabled in the vehicle's settings. Schedule a service visit for customers who have disabled vehicle connectivity or who report that they did not receive the update in Q4 2024. Monitor OASIS for additional information.

SummarySome 2021-2024 F-150-3.5L FHEV, 2020-2024 Explorer 3.3L FHEV, 2020-2024 Escape 2.5L FHEV, and 2022-2024 Maverick 2.5L FHEV vehicles may exhibit an illuminated MIL with DTC P237F and/or P2C23 stored in the powertrain control module (PCM) and no affect on drivability. This may be due to seal damage, corrosion and/or water intrusion in the exhaust coolant temperature (ECT) sensors 3 and/or 4 connector. Visual inspection should be completed on ECT3 and ECT4 sensors and mating connections for seal damage, water intrusion, and corrosion. If seal damage, water intrusion or corrosion is present, repair per cell 5 of the Wiring Diagram, then apply Motorcraft® XG-12 Electrical Grease to the female/vehicle side of the harness. This inspection of ECT3 and ECT4 sensors should be completed prior to starting the appropriate pinpoint test in Section 303-03 of the Workshop Manual (WSM). If DTCs P237F and/or P2C23 do not return, no further action is necessary and the replacement of the entire exhaust heat exchanger assembly is not required. If P237F and/or P2C23 returns, follow the pinpoint test in Section 303-03 of the WSM for further diagnostics.
