STEERING, SUSPENSION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Our family was traveling from Lake George New York to Boston MA on Wednesday [XXX]. As we passed another vehicle in the far left lane on [XXX] the vehicle bounced and we lost control of the backend of the vehicle and it "fish tailed" across the highway nearly causing a collision at 65 miles per hour. The anti-lock breaks were activated and we nearly collided with several cars but managed to pull into the emergency lane. The vehicle was not drivable after this incident because any pothole or bump on the highway, at speeds over 50 MPH, made the rear of the vehicle very unstable. It will skid and sway. Our vehicle is now undrivable and Ford says the only available solution is a "buy back" program and a solution will not be available until Q3 of 2025. The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V025000 (Suspension); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the vehicle was exhibiting symptoms of the recall. The contact stated that suspension was very soft, and the vehicle was bouncing while driving over a dip in the roadway while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the vehicle was swaying to the right and the left and was making abnormal squeaking sounds in the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Kearny Mesa Ford (7303 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92111); who determined that the fluid was Armor All. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no recall coverage on the VIN and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

While idling, the engine died. I attempted to restart several times with no luck. Battery was working, but engine would not start. Towed to Ford dealership and had to have the fuel pump replaced. Car had around 10k miles and recently went through an inspection.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
The windshield wipers switch to intermittent without warning. It happens when it is raining and the wipers are on fast or slow. This is distracting because visibility is impacted and you need to fumble with the wiper switch while struggling to see to in an effort to reset the wipers. The reset works for a short while and then goes back to intermittent. There was no crash. The issue is dangerous and annoying… but I do not drive the car often and just reached out to the dealer for a fix. The dealer denies the “customer satisfaction program” as I think that program for this issue expired in December 2024. This is dangerous and should be a recall without an expiration date.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 24V635000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and 25V025000 (Suspension); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that there was hydraulic fluid leaking from the vehicle near the rear struts. While driving approximately 35-45 MPH, one fluid reservoir on the driver’s side rear strut detached from the vehicle. The contact continued to drive to an independent mechanic. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that both rear struts were defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. Additionally, the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was towed to another mechanic who replaced the struts. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to request a reimbursement. The failure mileage was 40,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Despite many attempts Ford or any of its local dealers will not assist in providing me a remedy for this issue. This is a rental vehicle that has been decommissioned indefinitely due to the recall. Ford and its dealers will not provide me any fair way to trade the vehicle in for one without a recall. They will not provide me any sort of rebate to counter the discount in value I am getting with any dealer.

SEATS
All metal components of the seat have rusted and corroded. The seat is no longer safe and its structural integrity is compromised. This is on the Black Diamond trim package where the interior of the car is marketed and sold as weatherproof with sealed electronic components, marine grade vinyl upholstered seats and drain plugs installed in the floor board to empty water from the floor boards Ford Motor Co has denied the bumper to bumper warranty on these seat components stating that the seat was exposed to moisture This is the ford bronco that is pictured in advertisements and marketing materials with no roof or doors installed, and has supplements and guide materials provided with the owners manual that outlines practices to drive through water / rivers My truck has never been through any standing water

SEAT BELTS
The seat belt stem on the buckle receiver has corroded and snapped. This is on the Black Diamond trim package with marine grade upholstered seats, weatherproof electrical switches and buttons in the interior and drain plugs on the floor boards from factory. The metal stem of the seat belt receiver is bolted to the body of the truck, encased in rubber and has corroded and snapped in half. Ford motor co. has denied the bumper to bumper warranty on this part, stating that moisture exposure is evident . This is the vehicle that is marketed and intended to be hosed out with water to clean after off-roading . This is the same Bronco model that is pictured in advertisements with no doors or roofs installed visiting beaches, driving through rivers and climbing mountains It is obvious that the seat belt components have not been treated or coated with any enamel or coatings. From factory all seatbelt components are bare clean steel

SUSPENSION
Hazardous Recall Issue Not Being Addressed Short Term With Permanent Safety Solution Many Months Away Creating Liability For Me, Destroying My Property and Putting Myself and Other Motorist In Jeopardy. For the past month fluid from my Ford Bronco has been leaking leaving stains on newly paved driveway. We just received the following recall... REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS MAY EXPERIENCE CORROSION BETWEEN THE EXTERNAL RESERVOIR MOUNTING FLANGE AND THE DAMPER BODY, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE SEPARATION OF THE EXTERNAL RESERVOIR. CUSTOMERS MAY EXPERIENCE... LEAKING FLUID NEAR THE REAR WHEELS PRIOR TO THE DETACHMENT OF AN EXTERNAL RESERVOIR. Safety Risk IF A REAR SHOCK ABSORBER EXTERNAL RESERVOIR SEPARATES FROM THE VEHICLE, IT CAN CREATE A POTENTIAL ROAD HAZARD FOR OTHER ROAD USERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Even though the notice says the recall resolution is not expected for over 6 months, I was willing to pay the deductible for my Ford Warranty to get the safety issue fixed, even if I never get reimbursed for Ford's vehicle issue. Since this is a safety issue and are fearful of the the reservoir tank separating since our vehicle is already loosing significant fluid from the reservoir. I brought my vehicle into the local Ford dealership and they confirmed the issue with my car is the same regarding the Recall notice. Even with the warranty, Ford has rejected the claim to replace the shock absorbers. So now I just have to wait while it destroys my driveway and hope a detachment doesn't occur and jeopardize either myself or others driving around me. SERVICE BRAKES
When towing the vehicle in neutral tow mode, while using a suplimental braking system in the bronco, the brakes changed from a not active "vacuum " state, to and Active "powered" state, causing the brakes to lock up on the bronco. This has happened on multiple occasions. Very dangerous and damaging.
