- #11738770May 19, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
Adaptive +predictive cruise control malfunction causing 1) sudden vehicle acceleration and 2) Cruise on but disengaged suddenly engaged and set a higher speed than originally set. Merged into light traffic on 4 lane interstate, no other vehicles within 200yds or so. Turned on, then set cruise control at 70mph, about 10 seconds later I felt the car surge, I looked down, saw the cruise indicator now showed 80, tapped the brakes to disengage. About 2 miles later repeated the same but was watching and vehicle repeated same behavior, I turned the system off. About 2 miles later I repeated the same with the same result. Each time set to 70 and within 10-20 seconds vehicle accelerated to a self set higher speed - 80. Problem 2, a few miles later, after a merge onto another interstate the speed limit changed tried this again except this time, as a came out of the curve (doing about 45mph) I turned the cruise on, a few seconds later I look down and watch the cruise indicator turn from white (on but not engaged) to green (on and engaged) without touching the set button. On the return trip I duplicated the acceleration twice more. 4 days later dealership service called to confirm that they reproduced problem 1 and were in contact with the manufacturer for how to proceed. No warning lights or messages, dealership service stated no fault codes.

This vehicle was sold to me by Front Royal Ford on August 16, 2025 with an UNDISCLOSED active safety recall. This vehicle recall still shows as active and the car remains in an "unsold" status within the Ford system, since they legally were not permitted to sell me the vehicle. I only discovered this after the car's engine light went off in September 2025, and a dealership in Indiana refused to initially do any work on it, stating it wasn't under warranty. The first repair was on September 25, 2025 and the repair was stated as a loose wire, the second repair to replace an actuator was on December 16, 2025, and it's presently undergoing a third repair for an engine misfire that occured on May 17, 2026. At this point, the repairs all related to the engine qualify for the lemon law and the car was never supposed to be sold with an open safety recall.

On or about December 2025, the vehicle began emitting strong fuel/exhaust fumes through the air conditioning vents during operation. The fumes were noticeable inside the passenger cabin and created concerns of toxic exposure and possible fire risk. The condition was reported to an authorized Ford dealership, Hacienda Ford, which retained the vehicle for inspection for approximately two months. The dealership acknowledged concerns involving the fuel system/fuel injectors and performed inspection procedures and software-related recall work; however, the vehicle was later returned without replacement or repair of fuel system components. After the vehicle was released, the same fuel/fume odor condition reoccurred during normal driving, including an incident where the fumes became overwhelming inside the cabin while driving toward [XXX] . The vehicle is associated with an open safety recall identified as manufacturer recall 25S76 / NHTSA campaign 25V467, described as “remedy not yet available.” Despite repeated reports of fuel/exhaust fumes and concerns involving possible fuel injector defects, Ford Motor Company and the dealership have not provided a written determination that the vehicle is safe to operate. A formal final escalation letter was sent to Ford Motor Company demanding a safety determination, alternate repair authorization, reimbursement of towing expenses, and clarification regarding open recalls and known fuel system issues. The letter was delivered on April 29, 2026, but no response was received within the requested deadline. The consumer believes the vehicle may present an ongoing safety hazard involving fuel vapor intrusion and potential fire risk. The defect remains unresolved. The vehicle remains parked. My moon roof has started making very loud noises at speeds above 50 mph. There is no active recall for my 2022 Bronco Sport. But there was the exact recall on 2021 Bronco Sports. In addition there is a moon roof recall on 2022 Navigators, F150's, F250's, F350's and F450's. Why has a recall not been issued on the 2022 model?

January 10, 2026. My battery abruptly stalled. It was charged drove a few feet in the car just stopped. The car was towed, and the battery was deemed faulty and needed replacement. May 10. The engine coolant light came on. The car would turn on and then abruptly stalled. Mid traffic. The car again was towed and it was deemed had a faulty coolant pump. I asked for the fuel injection system to be looked at and they said my card does not have a Vin recall. These two prior issues established the fact that something is wrong with my vehicle and should have been included in the main Ford recall. I would like my VIN number added for the safety of my car and to be able to get the updates necessary for the fuel injection cracks that occur in this year bronco. The dealership is refusing to do this.

Vehicle: 2022 Ford Bronco Sport I am submitting this complaint due to an ongoing and potentially dangerous issue involving my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport shutting off unexpectedly while in operation. The vehicle intermittently displays messages instructing the driver to “Shift to Park” and/or “Restart Engine” while the vehicle is being actively operated. On multiple occasions, the engine has shut down unexpectedly during normal driving conditions, creating a serious safety concern. The issue appears to occur unpredictably and has continued despite normal vehicle maintenance. The problem has occurred while driving and also during stop-and-go traffic conditions. When the malfunction happens, the vehicle loses normal operation and requires the driver to place the vehicle in PARK and restart the engine in order to continue driving. This creates a dangerous situation, especially in intersections, traffic, or active roadways, due to the sudden loss of power and interruption of vehicle operation. Symptoms observed include: * Unexpected engine shutdown * Dashboard warning messages instructing to shift to PARK and restart engine * Intermittent electrical/system irregularities * Vehicle failing to continue normal operation Vehicle VIN: [XXX] Additionally, this vehicle has been taken to the dealership for diagnosis and repair related to this issue on multiple occasions. On at least two separate instances, the vehicle remained out of service for more than 40 days, leaving me without reliable transportation for extended periods of time. Despite repeated repair attempts and extended time at the dealership, the issue continues to occur intermittently. This ongoing failure raises serious concerns regarding the safety, reliability, and dependability of the vehicle. I am including the VIN so the vehicle’s repair history, service records, and any related technical service bulletins, recalls, or manufacturer communications can be properly reviewed as part of this complaint. Check engine light turned on. Dealership inspected it and advised me there was a PO456 error code. My understanding is that a P0456 code on a 2022 Ford Bronco indicates a very small leak in the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system, which prevents fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. The most common cause is a faulty canister purge valve. The dealership advised me that this issue was not converted under warranty or covered by Ford, so it would be out of pocket to the owner. However, I am formally submitting a complaint to investigate if this issues is related to the open recall that Ford doesn’t have a fix for yet; Manufacturer Recall Number25S76 NHTSA Recall Number25V467. If the faulty canister purge valve was caused by the reasons for the recall, the issues may be directly related.

After coming to a complete stop at a stop light, my engine began to shudder and then stalled out. I received a message on the dashboard to shift to P and restart my engine. After shifting to P I was able to start my engine. When shifting to R my engine acted normally. When shifting to N my engine acted normally. When shifting to D my engine began to shudder and stalled a second time. After waiting for a light cycle I attempted to restart my engine and shift to drive a third time and my engine stalled when shifting to D. I required a tow truck to take my vehicle to my dealership. While waiting on the tow truck I had to shift the car to neutral and push the car onto the shoulder from the center lane where my car stopped working. My dealership was able to replicate the issue and informed me my torque converter had failed.

The apparent failure involves the engine lubrication and/or cooling system. After approximately 30 minutes of driving, I noticed a strong burning oil/fluid/exhaust-type odor. Initially, I believed it was coming from other vehicles because my vehicle had passed inspection about two weeks earlier. Once parked and away from traffic, it became clear the odor was coming from my vehicle. About one hour later, I discovered a large puddle of oil underneath the vehicle. Upon inspection, the coolant reservoir was nearly empty and the engine oil level was almost completely absent from the dipstick. I added approximately four quarts of oil. The leak appears to occur or worsen once the engine reaches operating temperature. No warning lights, dashboard messages, or other indicators appeared before or during the failure. There were no visible leaks where the vehicle had been parked earlier that same day. The burning odor was the only symptom prior to discovering the fluid loss. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle appears capable of rapidly losing oil and coolant without warning, which could result in engine seizure, loss of power, fire risk, or loss of vehicle control while driving. Oil leaking onto road surfaces could also create hazards for other motorists. The vehicle has never been off-road or driven on anything other than paved roads, and the leak does not appear to originate from the oil drain plug area. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. Because this occurred during the weekend, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent repair facility. I intend to contact the dealer on Monday for diagnosis and inspection. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives.

This 2022 Bronco Sport Outer Banks lost it's alternator pulley and that caused the serpentine belt to break. Since the vehicle could not be driven it was towed to Joe Myers Ford in Houston, TX. The dealer wanted a extremely expensive price, $1800.00, to replace the alternator and belt. The vehicle was offered to the dealer for trade to determine value and see if it was possible to upgrade to a newer vehicle. The dealer's sales person said that the vehicle was appraised at only $5000.00. That ended discussion and the vehicle was then moved to a private auto parts parking lot where a mobile technician repaired it. It was then taken to two other authorized Ford dealers and offered for trade. Each dealer only offered the same amount...$5000.00. One dealer even said "We don't really want this vehicle. I even found out that they are not even allowed to resell it with this recall in place. They have basically caused it become worthless. You should take it to a used car dealer for appraisal. This caused me to start wondering 'what' may be wrong with this vehicle to case a 2022 year model to be valued so low. The VIN number then got run through NHTSA and voila! Now we know why Ford doesn't want anything to do with it. The Ford Recall #25S76 and NHTSA Recall #25V467 clearly explain that the vehicle can catch on fire and cause personal injury. None of the 3 Ford dealers ever mentioned this Dangerous Recall. I never received any notice in the US Mail, an email, phone call or any form of notification about this vehicle being a fire danger. All my info is on file with Ford and it's all been usable since the purchase date. NO Notice was ever received and children had even been driven around many times. How DARE FORD for putting mine and other family's children in danger!!!!! And there still isn't a Remedy for the problem. Ford needs to buy back this vehicle and send it to the Salvage Yard!

- #11736446May 7, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
The front and rear brake system has repeatedly malfunctioned across at least 7 dealer visits since 2022 on my 2021 Ford Bronco Sport (VIN: [XXX] ). Brake squealing and grinding (particularly in reverse at low speeds) have persisted despite multiple repair attempts. Ford's own SSM 52515 acknowledges engineering was working on a fix and that rotor resurfacing is "not a guaranteed fix." TSB 23-2308 was performed in March 2024 (caliper bushings/guide pins replaced). In June 2024 a dealer verbally confirmed a brake recall was coming in Oct/Nov 2024 and that rotors would be covered — that recall never materialized. Front brake pads were replaced under Recall 21C31 in September 2022 at ~8,797 miles. Front pads and rotors required full replacement again in April 2025 at ~28,833 miles — just 20,000 miles later and well below the typical 50,000–70,000 mile service life — at my out-of-pocket cost of $747. Rear brakes were documented as "in the red" in January 2026 at ~38,000 miles. The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership. In August 2024, one dealer attributed the issue to driving habits despite Ford's own TSBs acknowledging the defect. Brake wear across both axles is abnormally premature for a [XXX] vehicle. Across brake-related and recall visits the vehicle has been out of service for approximately 30 days.
