This is a second occurrence of the Shift System Fault previously reported in NHTSA complaint 11749893. On July 13, 2026, while parked, the vehicle again displayed a 'Shift System Fault - Service Required' warning, followed by a 'Service Vehicle Soon' message. The vehicle would not shift out of Park. This incident was captured on video, which is available upon request. The vehicle has an appointment scheduled with a Ford dealership for diagnosis under warranty.

We were driving in the middle of nowhere between [XXX] and [XXX] and the fuel system shut down cuz the fuel pump failed with a quarter of a tank left. We are stuck on the side of a narrow highway where the speed limit was 80 mph. Very scary. Every time we tried to start the car it would sputter and fail and the fuel warning came up not for lack of fuel but for a fuel pump issue. Software update was done the day before OTA. According to recall issues, fuel pump, cracks and failures have occurred many times and there are several recalls on that, but apparently our VIN is not included. While driving home and stopped at a red light, the dashboard displayed a "Service Required" warning followed immediately by a "Shift System Fault" message. The vehicle would not accelerate and stalled in the middle of the road with traffic going around me. I was unable to move the vehicle until I was able to restart it, which took at minimum 2 tries and 5 minutes. The warning cleared after restarting but the vehicle had been purchased 11 days prior with only 18,241 miles. The problem has not yet been confirmed by a dealer but I am scheduled to take it in for inspection. No prior warning lamps appeared before this incident. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

This is not a complaint against the dealership, but against the individual that was in charge of compliance. I am an attorney in Maine and it started with the fact that under main law, a dealer has to give two keys and if they don’t have it for free calibrated, and I got one key in the master key was not given, and there was issues with that and the compliance guy and finance a warranty guy whose name I forget, but they know who he is cause I’ve talked to them. He told me he had never heard of it and I showed him the statute and I just didn’t argue but then February 7 six days after the recall for the 25V685000 engine block heater, recall compliance date was over with the first visit that occurred of cooling overheating because of that and I know about the recall from researching it, but this compliance finance warranty guy search his computer, so he looked like even though it’s the second one that pops up on my vin and lied to my face saying that there’s no recall about coolant systems and heater blocks, and not liking to be pissed on and until it’s raining I just said OK so it’s another problem occurs and there is a recall. You do understand that I like the family that owns this place. I’m going to come after you because if there’s any engine damage or whatever you have. To comply with recalls, and I didn’t let him know I knew about it.. well 30 days after suspension of my license when my boat battery goes down, I will clean the boat both cars sitting in the parking lot to start driving it and I turned on the coolant overheating again and as the heater block does cause a crack I fixed crack please do not come down with the dealership. It’s only a good family. Please ask for the Man office straight out the door with gray hair. That’s the one that I’m don’t know what I’m talking about. I don’t know if he has any license or anything, but he should be fined if anybody. Because there are two incidences because it was their opportunity to cure under law 7 of Feb 1st

- #11749362July 9, 2026FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS:CANISTER
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. There was an abnormal odor of exhaust fumes inside the vehicle. Initially, the driver thought it emerged from other vehicles; however, a passenger smelled exhaust fumes, became sick, and vomited once the driver pulled over. The Ford mobile app failed to display any failure codes. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V467000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where diagnostic trouble codes for the engine were cleared. The fuel vapor was purged, and the valve was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic shop, where it was diagnosed that the catalytic converter was fractured. The catalytic converter was replaced, and the fuel injector was serviced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 67,830.

All my husband purchases is mainly Fords and he has for over 20 years. The last 3 Fords we have purchases from years 2019-2025 have had the same issues. My husband had a 2019 Ford Escape that broke down on us in the mountains. Had to have transmission replaced twice before 100,000 miles. Then he got a 2020 escape and same thing plus a motor replaced..now I have a 2022 bronco sport outer banks and they claim I need transmission replaced and rear end differential. I was quoted $15,000. That is almost as much as my car is worth. I am outside the "warranty" window. The dealership was rude about it because we didnt purchase our Ford with them directly stating they are loyal to their customers who purchase with them first. We have been loyal to ford for so long and now losing faith! I can in no way possible afford that much money! I bought it because I thought it was the safe option for my daughter and for me taking her to school. This car is not safe to drive at all! I had to drive it home from dealership because I cant afford to fix it and now I am without. How am I suppose to drive my kid to school in something that is shaking and grinding like that? This is not the first ford we have had to do it but we remain loyal!

- #11748990July 8, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
The vehicle is only a 2022 and has a jerky acceleration during non-highway driving with RPMs fluctuating. The tire, cruise control and seatbelt indicator lights are illuminated with no resolvable issue (the dealer clears them out and they come back). There’s an audible muffler rattle that has been present for a long time that the dealer says is normal. When I fuel up the engine audible bogs down. On a recent road trip to New York the vehicle vapor locked at a gas station and had to be jumped. The vehicle has been nothing but recalls and issues

This vehicle has been in multiple times for major repairs and is currently in for transmission replacement and coolant replacements. Both of these have already had parts replaced. The recall on my car has been on it for a year and has yet to be addressed. I was told that my car started smoking while in ford possession and attempting repairs. When I questioned the recall I was told it wasn’t a big deal and that it was just a system thing and not a danger. This does not seem to be the case. The vehicle has had issues since 15000 miles and has been repaired 4 times but officially broke down at 96000 miles in less than 3 years.

It was Memorial Day and I was picking my bicycle up from my brother’s house. As I turned out onto the main road, my car stalled. Battery light on, auto start/stop blinking and car rattling. The car also gave me a note on the dash saying it needed to be in park. Took it to the dealer and they told me that a new transmission was required but haven’t been willing or able to give me the finer details of what is wrong with the transmission until they disassemble it. They wanted to make me pay $5 just for that and that is way out of budget for me. I come to find out recently that Ford is in the news again. This time for faulty transmissions and they seemed to care less to help me out financially. They know these transmissions are bad. I know that my car is not tied to the recall regarding transmissions in the 2018-21 Navigators, Expeditions or Explorers, but the dealer gave me an error code of P07E4 which sounds VERY SIMILAR to this issue with these 2018-21 cars referenced earlier. I feel lucky that i wasn’t on the highway or anything when this happened.

Front seats Cause back and hip pain and fatigue on trips over 30 mins- head rest don’t adjust to help compensate putting in awkward positioning. The automatic braking or whatever signifies your close to objects in the front has randomly breaked hard with nothing near me almost resulting in being rear rear ended.

The contact owns a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V201000 (Air Bags); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was contacted and informed that the vehicle was sold and released to the contact as a new vehicle with an open recall attached. The dealer requested that the vehicle be returned to the dealer for the recall repair. The dealer consistently pushed back the appointment to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The first incident was the car shifting to park while I was trying to reverse it said “system shift fault” I called ford they told me that since it wasnt coming back on I was okay to drive it hadn’t come back on so I didn’t get the diagnostic done due to not having a vehicle to use while it was being done. The second one I parked and again went to reverse and what popped up was “gear selected will engage at low speed” but as soon as I turned my car off and back on the vehicle was able to reverse and drive normally.

I am filing this complaint to report an unreasonable and hazardous delay by Ford Motor Company regarding safety recall 25S76 (NHTSA 25V467) for my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport (VIN: [XXX]). This recall involves a severe fire hazard where a cracked fuel injector can leak liquid fuel and vapor onto hot engine components, presenting an immediate risk of an under-hood fire and occupant injury. This recall has now been active for nearly a year, yet Ford’s official status for my vehicle remains "Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available." Sourcing a permanent physical repair has been excessively delayed. Because this defect is an ongoing, inherited engineering issue from previous failed recall remedies on this same engine family, I am being forced to drive a vehicle with a known, unaddressed fire risk due to the manufacturer's failure to supply parts in a reasonable timeframe. I request that NHTSA expedite its oversight of Ford's parts manufacturing and distribution timeline for this specific remedy.
