ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The electrical system has been having issues since I bought the car in 2015. The dash display behind the steering wheel flashes, the radio system restarts itself multiple times throughout a 15-minute trip between stops. At one point, the antenna wasn't even picking up a signal and the radio system only gave out static audio. Whatever has been the issue has caused me to have to change my alternator and multiple batteries since purchasing it. I would've reached out sooner, had I known this was an option..

Since the day I picked up the car from the dealership lot, I have had consistent issues with this vehicle simply operating safely and normally. In Arizona, you're legally responsible for a vehicle the moment you sign — even before you drive it off the property — so I was essentially stuck with it. From that point forward, I have been at my dealership nearly every month due to various mechanical and electrical issues. The vehicle has a history of repeated electrical and mechanical failures that affect both safety and basic function. One of the most serious problems is that the car randomly shuts off while driving, including in traffic and at intersections. This happens without warning and creates a serious risk of being hit from behind or losing control of the vehicle. In addition, the car frequently fails to start. It will often require a jump-start just to turn on, but even then, service technicians have told me the battery is not the issue, and in some cases, it doesn’t respond to a jump at all. The problem remains undiagnosed, with technicians saying they cannot pinpoint the cause. The issue appears to be electrical or ignition-related, but no definitive fix has been found. There have also been ongoing problems with the transmission jerking, hesitation during acceleration, and various warning lights coming on, including the battery, check engine, and transmission indicators. These issues began shortly after purchase and have occurred consistently over time. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership numerous times, where they have attempted repairs, but the problems continue. It is not safe to drive and continues to present a major safety hazard due to unexpected shutdowns and unreliable starting. These issues have been acknowledged by the dealer but never resolved, and the vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle and attempting to shift the gear shifter on several occasions, the vehicle failed to shift into the intended gear. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle responded as needed. Additionally, the contact stated that while attempting to drive to make a turn from a complete stop at a five-way intersection, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle felt like the transmission was in neutral(N), but the gear shift indicator light indicated that the vehicle was in reverse(R) before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to the residence of the contact's brother. The dealer was notified of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V529000 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

UNKNOWN- I was driving and it was storming bad, I accidentally drove through this road that was flooded and my car then said throttle control and my car started to not drive as well then when I took a turn my car stopped and it would not move. I turned it off and it started going again, then when I was going up a hill while I trying to turn my car would not move, the vehicle stability indicator turned out and so many more signs, so then I tried to turn my car off again and it was stuck in drive and would not turn off, I wasn’t able to move the gears it was locked on drive but not moving so I had to disconnect my battery and then it started moving again, not safely but I made it home. Please what do I do

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? • the parking brake randomly turns on mid driving especially on the highway. My car will randomly stop driving but the the radio and everything else is on but the car isn’t on if that make sense. When I go to turn it back on after it shuts off it stutters then finally kicks back on. My tire sensors are completely off , my airbag system is always saying error , seat belt system is always going off. I could be going 50mph and car will shut off mid driving. Yes it can be inspected for FREE. Especially if my car is recalled . How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? • my safety is definitely put at risk and sometimes others depending what my car does that day. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? • no I haven’t had no one to look at it Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? • no I haven’t been in a accident I do my best to get off the road Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? •seat belt sensor is on , airbag sensor is on , and check engine light is on. It’s been going on for about 2 months now There was NO incident but I am very scared their will be. I do my best to be off the road but this is my only vehicle. I just seen an article my vehicle is recalled .

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, SUSPENSION, POWER TRAIN
Emergency break on an off working parking pawl becomes dislodged and transmission to where it is shifting into neutral unexpectedly or shifting into park, which could be a potential rollaway which it has. Also back shocks and struts in the rear. Detaching Etc. Electrical issues. Radio software and also intermittent power loss of vehicle. Or stalling issues .

My car is stuck in drive but won't let me turn my shifter to park. It will not start and I have to undo the battery to get it to shut off . But it won't cranck. It sometimes will slow down for no reason and speed up without me even pressing the gas. My shock absorbers look like they are almost off the coil over spring. My lights in my car. sometimes work and sometimes don't. My headlights won't turn on sometimes. I have to kill the car and rest the system on my radio . My radio just started working last week for the first time since I got it and I have had it since October 2024. Bunch more problems . My service brake light and service airbags lights never go off. . My engine lights never goes off. My tires sensors never pick up. My car is currently sitting in a parking lot and since I can't drive it bc it won't shift into park the battery has been stolen and also something has happened to my windshield. Bc my windshield is broken on passenger side.

Vehicle has 46,000 miles on odometer. A year ago the "Service Airbag System" light would intermittently illuminate. It is now staying lit all the time. I was speaking with an acquaintance as they had the same vehicle. Theirs caught on fire under the seat in the electrical connection box for the airbag. I took it to a few of our local mechanics and they say it is a substantial safety issue as they pulled the codes B0028-13 and B0020-13. Right side and left side seat deployment squib circuit open. The airbags will not deploy upon impact. The consensus from the mechanics was that Chrysler has known this is a common problem in these vehicles and needs to address the repair. After calling Chrysler and finding out they do know this is a problem in design it will still cost $4000.00 to repair as it's not covered under warranty. This vehicle is unsafe and it makes me wonder how many people are driving these vehicles not knowing the potential danger. It will be going to the dealership when one of them can "fit me in".

Approximately [XXX] on [XXX] I was driving from my home to a doctors appointment on [XXX] in Tampa Florida. Approximately 8 mins from my home. The roads were in desperate need of repair with patchy potholes uneven pavement. I was going approximately 30 to 35 miles an hour that is the speed limit for this road as I was going over I hit one of the shallow holes in the road when that happened. the car bounced, and the headset exploded into the back of my head.!! it startled me, but not enough to cause an accident. Active Headrest system deployed without collision on the passenger side. Could have impacted passenger and caused serious head injury. Vehicle was taken to dealer and directed me to Chryslers customer hotline. They were reluctant to do anything and were trying to put the blame on me. They said they would call back in the next 2-3 business days to examine the vehicle after much back and forth. There were no warning signs that the headrest would deploy and no prior notice from the manufacture.

While driving the car is in process.. the engine will suddenly stop (stall). I loose all power to the car and is unable to stop the car or control the speed or any other functions of the car. The only way to stop the car immediately is to manually use the emergency breaks. My 3.6 liter engine is having the same engine defect as the 2.4 2000 Chrysler 200 engine N52... causing it to malfunction. Also sometimes when trying to start the car while turning the key in the ignition the engine begin to flood on its on and get completely stuck in that position..and become unable to process to start and run. For about a year and a half I have been back and forth to the auto mechanic paying so much money trying to figure out what is going on with my car. Unable to fix of com up with a solution. My car has been more undrivable,in the shop and and unsafe then it has been driven. The last time I was driving my car with my [XXX] [XXX] child in the car the engine power failed and I was unable to stop .. we where coming on a 4 way traffic light going at full speed.. my light had turned red. Nothing I would do would stop or slow the car down. I'm so happy my child knows to pull the emergency breaks... He saved our life. This has happened multiple times B4 this last time but never to this extent. It seems the longer this issue is going the worst it's becoming. I began doing research on Chrysler 200 to see if anyone one else may have been having this issue to hopefully find a solution. because this is my only car and I have put everything I have into this to get this car and to fix this car.. when I looked in to recalls I found that the 2.4 liter engine for the 2000 Chrysler 200 was having the same engine defect as my 2013 Chrysler 200 3.6 liter engine.. . So I would like to make a vehicle complaint about my car's engine defect causing the engine to malfunction which is a safety issue.
