AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS
The contact owned a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while his wife was driving at approximately 30 MPH she crashed into another vehicle striking the driver's side door of the other vehicle, which then crashed into another vehicle in the rear having been redirected from the force of the impact. The vehicle had been moved in the same direction that the wife's vehicle was traveling. The vehicle that the wife had crashed into had run a stop sign. The contact stated that all the front air bags deployed, however, the wife told him that the passenger side air bag had begun to emit smoke after deploying and then a fire started. The contact stated that the vehicle had stopped after the impact and that his wife was having difficulty unbuckling her seat belt. The wife had stated that OnStar had contacted her the moment following the crash, she told OnStar that she was having trouble unbuckling and that the vehicle was on fire. OnStar released her seat belt. The police, ambulance, and fire department were on the scene. There were no injuries, however, the contact's vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and exploded. The contact stated that the fire department extinguished the fire with water. The police wrote a report. The other two vehicles drove away from the scene, and the contact's vehicle was towed to a police impound lot. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On 27 Feb 2023 the vehicle started as usual. After parking and letting the engine idle while I assisted my elderly mother into the car, the vehicle unexpectedly stopped running. Several attempts were made to restart the car, but it only sputtered for a few seconds as if it were out of fuel. I then called GM roadside assistance and the vehicle was towed to Sandy Sansing Southern Chevrolet in Foley Alabama. My service Advisor Ronny advised me that this was a common failure of the Fuel Pump Power Control Module, however, there is no current recall. Except I did find a recall for a similar issue for other GM vehicles (Product Safety Recall N212332040 Stall While Driving) The dealership currently has 25 other vehicles awaiting a new module which could take up to 2 months.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000. The contact noted that the failure speed was approximately 65 mph, not 75.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The vehicle will display “Service Trailer Braking System,” as well as “Service Front Camera,” “Service Driver Assist System.” These messages along with audible alerts will sound while driving. At random intervals, the forward collision system will also activate with no objects in sight. This causes the driver to become distracted or react quickly in unnecessary manner. This can increase risk of collision when the driver becomes distracted. The vehicle has been taken to Chevrolet multiple times and we have been told a faulty wiring harness is the cause. We own two of these vehicles, same make, model and year. This has happened in both vehicles.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered and stalled. Additionally, the contact was unable to shift the gear shifter into reverse(R) or drive(D). No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the residence, and the contact stated that an abnormal noise was heard when she attempted to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet taken to an independent mechanic or local dealer for diagnosis or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 114,000.

When driving at highway speeds or even around town the vehicle randomly jerks to one side or another alignment was just done and was told all was good tires are new Pitman armor place ball joints replaced still having the issue of it darting specially when going around curves it wants to pull vehicle to the ditch and I look like I am driving drunk which I'm not I've had my mechanic try to inspect the issue he couldn't find it I heard they're made possibly be a TSB out for it but it's hidden

It would not start up again nor could I put it in neutral to move it out of the way. I’ve learned my 2021 Suburban has a defective high pressure fuel modular. Also learned there is a parts shortage as well.

The electrical system has gone out completely comes back a few seconds later with different icons saying to roll driver side window down then up, or stabiltrax. It has also caused complete electrical failure being on a road while driving. This has also cause my wheel to jerk taking out the power steering and the engine has shut off completely to the point where I have to wait a few minutes to even turn it on. This has happened while reversing in to a parking spot and the whole car dies. It kills power so much that I have no hazard lights. When I’m able to get it to come Back on it’s like it reset its self. I have taken it to the shop and they have said the battery cables and the mega fuse above the battery. I know this is a known issue in other like vehicles.

Dealer Service centers are not taking the random/intermittent fault of the Safety Restraint System seriously. Passengers are at risk (unknow severity, assume the worst) due to a Faulty Safety Restraint System.

SERVICE BRAKES
The brakes will sometimes not work properly. When the brake pedal is pressed when parking or coming to a stop, it takes longer for the vehicle to stop. The brake pedal will also vibrate when coming to a stop and "roll" to a stop. We have had our brakes checked twice in the last 3 months at the Chevrolet dealership and they say the brakes are fine. We now had an incident where we were parking in a parking garage and nearly hit the wall in front of us because the brakes did not stop the car properly. We had the vehicle towed to the dealership to have the brakes checked again (February 3rd, 2023). We were afraid to drive it ourselves on the freeway. Since it is the weekend, we have to wait until Monday (2/6/2023) for them to check our vehicle. We are going to let the dealership know what we have found online with the "recall" of certain 2017 Chevrolet Suburbans about a defect in the Brake Assist and Power Brake Vacuum Pump. This has been an ongoing issue we've had since we purchased the vehicle (new purchase in 2017), but it has progressively gotten worse.

POWER TRAIN
I purchased my 2016 Chevrolet Suburban from Jupiter Chevrolet on March 18,2021 at that time the car had 74,931 miles on it after driving off it home 35 min away from the car lot I noticed the RPMS would go up on their own I called and asked what the cause of it and they would be said that it was normal because these new vehicle have the downgrade break. I drove it off and on since then this is a vehicle used for when we have a family trip or just store runs. My truck currently has 107,750 miles on it, that is a total of 32,819 miles put on this truck since 2021. On January 28,2023 as I was driving on the highway to the store that is three miles down the road the truck went into limp mode all the sudden Iwas almost hit by an 18-wheeler because it suddenly owed down and would not go over 20 mph. My daughter who is 5 years old was in the car with me at the time. I was able to turn around and slowly get it back home since I was not far, when I got home the check engine light came on I had my neighbor read the code and it said P0700 and P0796 they said to change the fluid and it would probably fix it so I took it to have the transmission oil changed and new filter put in and they told me then that I will need a new transmission because of all of the metal shavings that was in the oil and filter and on the magnet in the oil pan. There is no recall on this problem, I do not have that many miles on my car and have not driven that many miles to be having a transmission problem on my vehicle this is something out see on vehicles with 300k. miles on them. I must have my vehicle and right now I am not able to drive it at all, but I am still having to make the payments on a vehicle I am not able to drive.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that after an unknown over-the-air (OTA) software update was performed, the Forward Collision alert system failed to operate. The contact was made aware of the failure while reversing the vehicle. The contact stated that the alert failed to alert her of a nearby vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the dealer confirmed that the Forward Collision alert system chip needed to be installed; however, the chip was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that there was a chip shortage. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

SEAT BELTS
The second row - driver's side seat belt no longer was retracting, making the seat unsafe. This belt had been slow to retract since we purchased this vehicle from the dealership in June 2022, but it stopped retracting in mid January 2023. As my extended warranty only covers drive chain, the dealer charged me $627.43 for parts and labor to replace the seat belt. It is disappointing that Chevrolet does not warranty the basic safety equipment for the life of the vehicle.

I took my 2013 Suburban to a Chevy dealership in San Jose CA to have the airbag recall repaired. Upon completion, my airbag light and "Service Airbag" message were still on. I asked why this was still on. They said the recall issue was fixed, but did not know why the light and message were still on. But wanted to charge over $1400 to diagnose the issue. I filed a complaint w/ the Chevy's California Customer Engagement Center, and escalated to one of their supervisors. I emailed them the picture I took of the light and the message. He forward it to their technicians. He contacted me a week later and stated that the indicator of the service bag warning (Code 212328790) fault is present, and that the airbags will not deploy. But because this matter was not part of the recall, I would have to be responsible to pay for the repair, or contact NHTSA to file a complaint and have them issue another recall. I understand that I am responsible for the wear-and-tear on my vehicle. The airbag warning light and message stating "Service Airbag" is something that was never in may control, to maintain and/or replace. This was a defective piece of an equipment that I wasn't responsible for. I am requesting NHTSA issue another recall for this matter. Thank you. Multiple issues with transmission since owned. It randomly goes into "limp" mode and everything will blink and it won't start back. The transmission has always shifted hard and sounded funny they told me if was normal for the vehicle. Leaking transmission fluid when owned for 4 months. I have had to the dealer multiple times, several repairs, told it is safe to keep driving by GM. The inverter is bad and told me it was ok to drive until they can repair. GM will not give me a fair response or answer. The dealership won't buyback, and offered to purchase for nearly 30k less than I bought it for 18 months ago brand new. The engine light comes on and off randomly told me it was ok with a diesel it may do that when it gets cold.

POWER TRAIN
I am wanting to report an issue with my 2016 Chevrolet Suburban, yesterday no January 23,2023 as we were driving on the highway my suburban suddenly stopped going into drive and the RPM's shot all the way up. We were going 65mph and were almost hit by an 18-wheeler that was behind us. We got to an exit and had to stop it scared our kids, the check engine light came on and were only able to drive 20 mph to make it home safely. We had the check engine light that came on checked and it came back with codes P0796 & P0700 we have looked it up and were not able to find a solution to these codes but i was able to find multiple people with the same issue and no solutions for them as well. Prior to the incident the car would accelerate on its own while you were driving. I Have called and searched for a recall but there is nothing listed, I think a recall should be placed since there are so many other people with the same issue. My vehicle has 107k. miles the others have a lot less miles on them.
