Had an engine replacement in dec of 2025 and had to pay for it since wasn’t under warranty or recall. And now my replacement engine which has a warranty now. Just failed in March 2026 which about 3 months later. Had metal shavings in engine and multiple cylinders misfiring. And now I don’t have a family vehicle to drive my family around again. There should’ve been a recall on my engine, but wasn’t this is not fair. And I’m paying the price for it.

2/24/2026 Sitting at red light, very busy road, vehicle cut off and said push to start. Vehicle would not start and would not shift out of park to push out of road. Very dangerous to be stranded in moving traffic. Had to be towed to dealer and it's still there waiting on engine replacement.

- #11727914March 30, 2026SERVICE BRAKES
When our new mechanic was checking over the car, he and his other mechanic both noticed that there was an increased brake pedal effort even though the brakes were in ok condition. Every time I’ve had the car serviced I have them check the brakes because they feel off. The car stops and the brakes check out with previous mechanics but something doesn’t feel right. Our new mechanic then gave me a recall bulletin from GM N192268490 and said he thinks our car is experiencing this issue. The recall was attached to our VIN when the mechanic pulled it up but when we called the dealer and checked the NHTSA website, my VIN number was apparently not part of the recall. I am writing to state that I believe my car may be experiencing the issue stated in the recall bulletin as per my mechanic’s findings. Attached is a copy of the recall bulletin given to us by our mechanic. Please advise.

- #11728081March 30, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROL
The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while towing a trailer, the message "Trailer Brakes Disconnected" was displayed. Due to the failure, the trailer brakes locked up and the trailer came to an abrupt and rough stop. Upon investigation, the contact discovered Technical Service Bulletin: 23-NA-149; which was related to the solar panel battery charger or generator on the trailer. The trailer battery was fully charged and had a higher charge than the battery needed and could back feed into the trailer brake power module and cause it to shut down. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

I purchased a 2023 Suburban on March 6, 2026 with 52,980 miles. I drove it home to my house and parked it. On March 7, 2026 about 6pm, I started the vehicle and heard a loud engine noise. I called the dealership and let them know about the noise. On March 9, 2026 I towed it back to the dealership. The vehicle has been in service since then and was told it needs an engine. Metal spun threw the engine block and has to replaced. I just purchased this vehicle and drove it one day.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was restarted and driven; however, approximately one minute later, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was restarted and driven to a nearby parking lot. A certified mechanic arrived and inspected the vehicle. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with rod bearing failure, which caused damage to the engine. The vehicle was driven to the residence, and the contact was advised not to drive the vehicle to prevent a blown engine. The vehicle was not repaired. After the failure, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale on July 30, 2025. At the time of purchase, the mileage was approximately 180,000. The odometer indicated that the current mileage was 193,000. After researching the information on Infotracer.com, the contact discovered that on July 1st, 2001, the mileage was documented as 242,765. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure.

My 2021 Chevrolet Suburban experienced a sudden and complete engine failure at approximately 79,000 miles. The vehicle became inoperable and is currently at a dealership pending evaluation. There were no prior warnings indicating an imminent catastrophic failure. A sudden engine failure of this nature presents a significant safety concern, including the risk of loss of propulsion during operation. The failure has been confirmed by the dealership, and no repairs have been authorized at this time pending further review. This complaint is being submitted to document a sudden and severe engine failure and to request evaluation of potential safety-related defects involving internal engine components.

- #11725782March 20, 2026POWER TRAIN, STEERING, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving my 2021 Chevrolet Suburban equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine. The vehicle has experienced a recurring problem related to the engine wiring harness. While driving, the vehicle will unexpectedly stall without warning. At the same time, there is an immediate loss of power steering assist, significantly reducing the ability to safely control the vehicle. This creates a dangerous situation, especially at highway speeds or in traffic. The failure appears to be linked to a defect or malfunction in the engine wiring harness, which may be causing intermittent electrical interruptions to critical engine systems. There were no prior warning signs sufficient to prevent the incident. This issue poses a substantial safety risk not only to the driver and passengers but also to other motorists. Sudden engine shutdown combined with loss of steering assist increases the likelihood of a crash. I believe this may be a systemic defect affecting other vehicles of the same model and configuration. I urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to investigate this issue and determine whether a recall should be issued. Two years ago, we had to have the transmission rebuilt after it kept slipping. Yesterday, as I was driving on I-95, I was passing a vehicle and pressed on the gas. There was a loud crunching noise and I lost acceleration. The check engine light came on right away and I couldn’t press on the gas without a noise and limited forward momentum. I then had to maneuver the car across four lanes of traffic with limited control over speed. There was no warnings an issue was going to occur. We had it towed to our mechanic who said there was low compression in cylinder 1. Less than 90 psi. Again, we had already had the transmission replaced and now this major engine issue. We are in the process of getting it to a Chevy dealer.

Check engine light with rough shifting and vehicle wouldn’t go in reverse. For safety reasons we had the vehicle towed to our local Chevy Dealership. Transmission needed a valve body rebuild. This is a known issue with this transmission but our VIN wasn’t under that recall.
