2019-2026 Stellantis Exterior Lamp Condensation TSB

Stellantis has issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-008-25 REV. A to provide a clear procedure for addressing condensation in the "vehicle exterior front lamps (headlamps, fog lamps, grille lamps, logo lamps, signature lamps)" across a wide range of its 2019-2026 models. This bulletin helps technicians and owners understand the difference between normal, temporary condensation and more severe issues that may require lamp replacement. The TSB applies to vehicles sold in North America, South America, Middle East and Africa, Enlarged Europe, and China markets.

This current bulletin, TSB 23-008-25 REV. A, dated September 18, 2025, supersedes the previous Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-008-25, which was issued on February 15, 2025. The revision includes additional model years, vehicles, and changes to the bulletin text.

Symptoms

Owners of affected Stellantis vehicles may report that their "exterior front lamps (headlamps, fog lamps, grille lamps, logo lamps or signature lamps) assemblies are fogged with a light layer of condensation on the inside of the lenses". This "Stellantis exterior lamp condensation" can occur under various conditions.

Diagnosis and Evaluation Procedure

The TSB outlines a standard procedure for "Lamp Lens Defogging" to evaluate and clear condensation. Customers might notice fogging after the lamps have been turned on, reached operating temperature, then rapidly cooled by cold water (e.g., rain or a car wash). It can also appear after the vehicle has been parked outside overnight during specific atmospheric conditions, such as a warm, humid day followed by a clear, cool night.

To determine if the condensation is normal or indicates a problem, follow these steps:

1. Dry the exterior: Ensure all water is dried from the outside surface of the lamp lens.
2. Operate lamps for 60 minutes: Start the vehicle's engine. Turn on the vehicle's headlamps and the hazard warning flashers. Allow all outside lamps to operate for 60 minutes.

What is Normal vs. Abnormal Condensation

Normal "Stellantis exterior lamp condensation" will typically clear as atmospheric conditions change, allowing the moisture to vaporize. Operating the headlamps, as described in the procedure, usually accelerates this process.

• Normal Condensation: If the condensation or fogging begins to clear from the "lamp lens within 60 minutes" while the lamps are operating, this indicates that the lamp sealing has not been breached. In this scenario, the "exterior lamp" does NOT need to be replaced.
• Abnormal Condensation: If the condensation or fogging has not begun to clear "within 60 minutes with the lamps operating", or if the lamp has large amounts of water droplets visible on most internal surfaces, this points to a problem with the headlamp sealing. This indicates that water has entered the headlamp. In such cases, owners may report that moisture in the headlamp is always present and never disappears. A headlamp "that exhibits internal moisture permanently" should be replaced.

Common Causes of Persistent Condensation

When "Stellantis exterior lamp condensation" is persistent and does not clear, it's often due to specific issues with the lamp assembly:

• Damage: Breakage on the lamp housing, such as damage, cracks, or holes, can allow moisture or water to enter the lamp. If physical damage is observed, the Failure Code to be recorded is 11 / BROKEN OR CRACKED.
• Missing Sealing Components: Missing vent caps, bulb access caps, or bulb sockets can create entry points for moisture. If these components are missing, the Failure Code to be recorded is 1C / CONNECTOR LOOSE NOT ATTACHED.
• Incorrectly Installed Sealing Components: Similarly, missing or damaged vent caps, or incorrectly installed bulb access caps and bulb sockets, can compromise the seal. The Failure Code for this condition is also 1C / CONNECTOR LOOSE NOT ATTACHED.

Repair Procedure Summary

If, after evaluation, it is determined that the "exterior lamp" exhibits permanent internal moisture or has physical damage or sealing component issues, the lamp assembly should be replaced. If no obvious causes (damage, missing/incorrect sealing components) are observed but the lamp still shows persistent leaks, technicians should use failure code 65 and proceed with lamp assembly replacement.
