- #11726185March 22, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
At the end of a downhill cloverleaf coming coming on and off a highway, the car slowed to a crawl but would not stop. It was going slowly as if "creeping" like when in B mode but was not in B mode. The brakes would not stop it. I was able to shift gears from Drive to N to P but no response, car continued to creep forward until it gently bumped into the back of an 18 wheeler. There was no collision alarm at the time. I turned the car on and off, and powering down seemed to re set the issue, but the collision alarm went off like 10 minutes later when there was nothing to set it off (seemed like it was just delayed). No error code came up, nothing. I submitted my claim to Volvo, esp since there are similar recalls so I thought it was a known thing, but apparently not reported on my exact make and model (there were not very many made). I did not know there was damage to my vehicle, and the truck driver and myself did not even get out, he didn't feel me, and I assumed the bumper just bumped him so no police report. This was an intermittant failure and after I re booted the vehicle I slowly drove home after brakes seemed to be working after power on/off. I did not know that it was my HOOD that bumped the truck. I did not know there was damage until I got home. If this car's make and model were NOT included in the recall, they should be. TERRIFYING. And volvo did not acknowledge or reassure. requested documentation on what they inspected, and did not receive.

- #11726016March 21, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
My infotainment system continues to fail as well as my back up camera (happened within 10 minutes of driving off of the lot when purchased) despite all of the software updates they claim will fix the problem, including the most recent March 2026. Since this update, the failures have increased in frequency to multiple times in a single ride lasting 15-20 minutes. The car has subsequently landed back at the dealership since last Thursday with no answers on how to fix the problems. I am currently in a loaner car waiting for the dealership to hear back from Volvo corporate. It's Saturday and my new car is sitting outside in the weather with no fix in sight. After paying almost $60,000 for this vehicle, I'm feeling duped and gaslit and frustrated. I've been a loyal Volvo customer for years (4th Volvo, 3rd XC 60) and not had any issues, so I'm feeling confused, disappointed, and as mentioned frustrated.

- #11725018March 17, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SEAT BELTS
I was driving home in my VolvoXC60. I think its a 2025 or 2024 model. I drive very safe and never do anything crazy when I drive. I came to a stop like normal at a red light and the screen said accident detected (specifically rear collision avoidance or rear collision something) and the seatbelt started crushing my chest and my body. It just continued to press down and crush me and the car wouldn’t let the seatbelt unbuckle like it was locked up. It was locked and basically just sucking her in with a very strong force. No car got close to me and I finally got it after like 2 minutes and drove home. I think its pretty unbelievable a new suv which is supposed to be very safe and reliable does that and appreantly and my chest is still very sore. Both dealerships near us don’t have a loaner car for a month. It was very scary and basically the car was crushing me for multiple minutes.

- #11724937March 17, 2026TIRES
Three (Right Front & Rear, Left Rear) of four factory-installed Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season tires (255/40R21, DOT 1XB RM582P 3923) are exhibiting tread block chunking, cracking, and physical material separation. All four tires share an identical DOT code from a single production run. Failure modes include lateral cracks across multiple tread blocks, physical loss of tread block material in multiple locations, and one tire with a deep tread void consistent with delamination. At 36,176 miles on a 2024 vehicle, this level of structural failure represents a safety hazard. The tread separation creates risk of sudden air loss or blowout at highway speed. I am aware of other NHTSA complaints filed for this exact tire size and model describing identical failure modes. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether a safety defect exists in this production batch.

- #11724198March 13, 2026VISIBILITY:REARVIEW MIRRORS/DEVICES:EXTERIOR
The driver's side mirror repositions itself downward, upward, or outward when unlocking and opening a door. It infrequently repositions while driving as well. These occurrences put me and others at risk by increasing my blind spot when I need to change lanes. Two Volvo dealers have reproduced the mirror changing positions when unlocking and opening the door, but a few times they were not able to get the car to reproduce it. Technicians have performed software updates, deleted and reprogrammed the keys to the car, and performed a factory reset on the infotainment center to no avail.

- #11723700March 11, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
I received the the recall for the rear backup camera system not working now the whole cars safety system doesn't work. The infotainment screen keeps crashing and showing a dead android on it thus killing the Turn signal noise, climate controls, safety systems blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control randomly turns off, rear backup cameras still don't work. Overall this could lead to an accident as the whole cars safety system is not working and it makes me wonder if this could trigger the car to fail while driving if the operating system is malfunction or bad. I have tried to fix the issue with a factory reset but nothing seems to be working.

- #11723662March 11, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The rear axle electric motor casing cracked with significant oil leaking requiring replacement, taking 15 hours of labor. Part numbers were 36003926-7 and 36009926-1. The mechanic at Hunter Volvo Cars in [XXX] relayed that he had just performed the same repair for the same problem the week before, in the same dealership. This raises my concern of a system problem rather than a one-off problem. This is the PHEV version of the Volvo C60 (the T8 model). With a range in EV mode of 35-40 miles, 95% of driving is performed in EV mode. It is unclear If the electric motor attached to the rear axle that was added to the standard Volvo C60 engine for the front axle is engineered for that amount of use and torque. This failure could lead to sudden failure of the electric motor. The car is owned and registered under my wife's name. - #11721350March 2, 2026CHILD SEAT:HARNESS RETAINER/CHEST CLIP
The contact owns a Nuna Car Seat, Model Type: Pipa Aire RX, Manufactured Date: March 06, 2024. The car seat was installed in a 2023 Volvo XC60. The contact stated while unbuckling the child out of the car seat, the straps used to latch the harness were loose. After the initial failure, the contact inspected the car seat harnesses several times while strapping the child into the car seat; however, the failure persisted. The contact reached out to the manufacturer several times before the contact was able to reach a representative. Once the contact was able to reach a representative, the contact was advised to take a video of the failure while driving and submitting the information and the contact declined the suggestion because the vehicle was unsafe. The contact also reached out to the manufacturer through email and was given a ticket number. The contact reached out to the company where the car seat was purchased and was informed that the one-year car seat warranty had expired. The contact disputed the claim because the failure had occurred less than one year after the purchase. The car seat was not repaired or replaced. The VIN was not available.

- #11719735February 22, 2026TIRES
Tire size: 255/40 R21 The original equipment Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season VOL PNCS tires (255/40 R21 102V, DOT JXB RW582P) on my 2024 Volvo XC60 CPO developed significant tread chunking and active delamination, discovered at approximately 19,225 miles — less than 40% of the expected tire lifespan. Component: Both front tires are available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: Tread chunks are physically separating from the tire at the tread edge. Active delamination at highway speeds presents a serious blowout risk to myself, passengers, and other drivers. Prior symptoms: No warning lamps illuminated. Initial delamination was noticed earlier by a family member but was not fully examined at that time. Upon closer inspection at 19,225 miles, the extent of the tread chunking and delamination on both front tires was confirmed. The condition appears to have been progressive. Additional note: These tires are original equipment and have never been replaced. The vehicle has been driven exclusively on paved roads under normal conditions with no impacts, curb strikes, or overloading. This is consistent with a known manufacturing defect affecting Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires produced in 2021–2022 installed as OEM equipment on Volvo XC60 vehicles.

- #11718454February 17, 2026BACK OVER PREVENTION: REARVIEW SYSTEM BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
All of the audio warnings in the car suddenly stop working without any associated warning. On certain occasions (once every couple of months, unpredictably) the car's audio completely stops working. This includes any of the safety warnings such as the parking collision or rear cross traffic warnings. The audio starts working again after resetting the infotainment system by holding down the "Home" button for 30 seconds. The service department at the dealership appeared to be very familiar with this issue but did not have any proposed fixes.

- #11715541February 4, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
System/Component Malfunction: Systemic failure of the onboard computer (Infotainment/Connectivity Module) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), specifically the Collision Avoidance/Auto-Braking system, Rear-view Camera (FMVSS 111 non-compliance), and the 12V Battery management system. All components remain in the vehicle and are available for inspection. Safety Risk: The vehicle exhibits frequent "phantom braking" where the emergency collision avoidance system abruptly activates without obstacles present, creating an immediate risk of collisions. Additionally, the "hands-on steering wheel" sensor malfunctions, triggering emergency stopping procedures while driving. The backup camera intermittently fails (black screen), causing a total loss of rear visibility. These issues lead to unpredictable vehicle behavior in high-speed traffic. Confirmation & Inspection: These issues began to be reported to an authorized Volvo dealer within the first year of ownership (2022-2023). Most recently, a total vehicle failure occurred due to a drained 12V battery, which the dealer service department confirmed was caused by a known software module defect. Despite multiple "software updates" by the manufacturer, the safety-critical ADAS malfunctions (phantom braking) have recurred three times in the last week following the most recent dealer service.

My car periodically shuts down while on highway and once a week is completely dead and requires a jump or a tow. I have brought this to the dealerships attention for over 18 months and they continue to tell me that the problem is fixed. The car shut down and was completely dead again this week. No one from NA Volvo has ever called me back when I report the problem or has responded to countless inquiries.

Even after the Volvo R10320 - WAM Upgrade recall, the backup camera is STILL unavailable at times when reversing. The recall and software update did not fix the issue. I would start the car and begin to reverse and met with "Camera is temporarily unavailable". I do not know what else do to as Volvo is slow to respond or provide anytime of upgrade or timely fix. This has happened multiple times and almost five times a week.

The USB ports under the center console malfunction frequently. The main, top engine mount disintegrated and needed to be replaced under 50,000 miles. The rear seat seatbelts come loose and sag easily. They do not retract automatically. The rubber stripping, where the door jamb is, comes off. The handles to the air vent break off very easily, rendering the vents inoperable. **The software for the vehicle malfunctions constantly, displaying the incorrect readings for fuel economy, the gas gauge, and more. It is possibly affecting the catalytic converters and O2 sensors. **The vehicle turns itself on, in battery mode. **The blind spot indicators to not light up sometimes and do not make any noise indications of nearby cars.
