The doors still don't work properly. They do not close. It happens randomly. It is usually when I drive out of the parking spot or back out so going slow. The rear passenger door opens randomly without warning. I've taken it to three dealerships but they haven't been able to replicate it while the car is there for service so they just send me back or don't even check in the car. I first complained about this the day after I bought it but still nothing

The screen showing the speed and the backup can stop working at any point leading to a crash and compliance issues. It's been several months and VW still has not come up with a solution for this recall and these cars are still on the streets, hence they are a major threat to consumer safety.

SERVICE BRAKES, POWER TRAIN
When stopping on an incline: the vehicle comes to a stop with the brake pedal. If you let up on the brakes, the vehicle will start rolling backwards because the brakes are not creating enough pressure to hold the vehicle and the electric motor has disengaged to save energy. The infotainment screen will even recognize the vehicle is rolling backwards and engage the rear-view camera even though the vehicle is still in drive (D or B). I have almost rolled into several cars and pedestrians because the vehicle was rolling backwards unexpectedly. The vehicle does have an "Auto-Hold" brake feature but it only engages when the brake pedal is depressed to a certain point, which is further than it takes to bring the vehicle to a stop. I have also rolled forward unexpectedly having thought the auto-hold feature was engaged.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I was easing slowly into a parking space, with plenty of room on both sides (no cars); there was a shopping cart at the front of the spot to my left. I was probably straightening the steering wheel back to the center. The car took over, accelerated suddenly to a very fast speed, jumped a high curb, and stopped hard in the lot's main drive. The front right wheel clipped a tree through the mulch. No safety features engaged. There was significant damage to the vehicle, and the impact badly bruised my right hand. I am very safety conscious, easy on the pedals, and cruise into stops. We have used the travel assist but not the cruise control function (which may have been set when the car was in transit). Several similar cases are reported on social media, with the leading theory being the accidental engagement of haptic steering wheel controls. A police officer took a report, but it has not been made available. I filed a report with the manufacturer and look forward to your investigation.

The contact owns a 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle independently accelerated. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle rear-ended the contact's other parked vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle crashed into the contact's residential iron fence and the fence was damaged. In addition, the vehicle crashed into the contact's home and damaged the 6ft window. The contact stated that the failure occurred while the contact was parking the vehicle in the contact's driveway. The contact stated that the front end of the vehicle was damaged. In addition, the rear end of the parked vehicle was damaged. There were no injuries sustained. No police or fire reports were filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer for a service appointment on May 30, 2024. The vehicle remained at the contact's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,800.

SERVICE BRAKES
Oct 9th 23 - My wife pulled into the office parking lot , and as she braked after parking the car. Post braking suddenly she realized the car was morning forward and it hit the car parked in front of her slot. The car being driven in the B mode , so it could recharge. The front bumper and grill were damaged incurring a loss of $ 6,972.76. Fortunately did ot cause ay bodily injury to either me or other people in the parking lot. June 6th 24 - I pulled into the grocery store parking lot, and as i braked and parked the car, i noticed the very same phenomenon , after stopping suddenly i realize that the car went over the curb of the parking lot, hit the car parked next to me and then jumped to the otherside of the road and i had to steer into the next parking lot. Again causing severe damage to my car as well as the car parked next to me. Fortunately there was nobody walking in the parking lot, or no other car that was entering the parking lot, for as the car jumped the curb it could lead to a very fatal accident.

I have an open recall on my vehicle. It is related to software defect that can affect the dashboard display that can affect the rear view camera. Currently, no remedy available. However, my main source of income comes from the ride share program. I won’t be able to earn income if my vehicle is not available. The manufacturers repeats “no remedy at this point. Need to wait.” It’s very difficult to just wait without timeframe of when it will be available for fixing it. It’s almost a month since the recall was placed. Please help in getting this resolved. Thank you

The car milage dropped Significantly, i took it to Tracy VW shop and they did not repair it , took it to Dublin VW and they did took 2 weeks replacing a battery cell then they found another defective electric cable that is on backorder with no eta for replacement , i am paying for gas and for fixing on a loaner car rather that drive my own car

I was halfway into a parking stall. There was a cement sign post at the end of the stall and a truck facing me opposite. About six feet from the post the car accelerated and glanced off the post and hit the truck slightly. It happened very fast but I am 99% sure the car accelerated on its own. We did a search afterwards and found many reports of our model doing similar things.

Twice after picking up the vehicle from the dealership for a recall or service I've stopped at the light near the dealer. On seeing green in accelerate and mid-way through the turn power will fail. I release the accelerator pedal once or twice and power returns.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2023 Volkswagen ID.4. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds and after stopping at a stop sign and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal needed to be depressed several times before the vehicle accelerated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the cause for the failure was not found. The contact stated that a technician test-drove the vehicle with him and noticed the failure however since the mechanic was unable to retrieve an error code, the vehicle could not be properly diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure; however, no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

POWER TRAIN
After coming to a stop or slowing the vehicle down to under 5 mph, the vehicle occasionally does not respond to the accelerator being pressed. When this happens, I can take my foot completely off the accelerator and press the accelerator to the floor several times before the car will begin moving. It generally starts moving again after a few seconds. There are no error messages displayed on the dash, and the car remains in the drive mode. This has happened when attempting to make unprotected left turns; I luckily have not been hit, but its led to several close calls where my car creeps across oncoming traffic instead of accelerating as I keep pressing the pedal.

I was driving my car (Vehicle 2, Volkswagen) southbound [XXX] , south of La Cumbre, in the #1 lane, at approximately 65 miles per hour at adaptive cruise control. I observed Vehicle 1 traveling in the #2 lane when Vehicle 1 veered into lane #1. Adaptive cruise control failed to recognize the object in my lane. It failed to reduced the speed, it failed to initiate automatic brake system, and it failed to warned the driver of the object. I collided with the front right side of his vehicle. Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season 255/45 R20 105T After about a month of owning my car, I noticed brown stains on my tires which made them look very old and worn and dirty. I tried washing them off and the stains kept coming back. I emailed the manufacturer and they told me that the browning on the tires was a normal reaction to extreme UV exposure or it could happen over time. I pointed this out to the dealership and they told me it was just dirt. Since this was a brand new car I did not believe the tires should look like this nor have I ever seen tires on a brand new car look this way. After doing a little more research I was convinced the tires were defective. Then in April I ended up getting a screw in one of my tires and it went completely flat and was unrepairable. The tires seemed defective right after I purchased the car and I do not feel like they are safe. The fact that this nail went through the tire when the nail wasn't even sharp indicates to me that the rubber is somehow defective. I've told this to the dealer and the manufacturer and they both tell me that this is normal and tires are supposed to be discolored and it's normal to have the brown stains on them.

Car suddenly developed a warning which read 'Warnings and information not available. Drive with greater care!'. All headlights, DRLs, and turn signals failed to illuminate. This caused a safety hazard while driving at dusk because there were no warnings regarding the lack of headlights and we didn't notice until it was too late and we were on a dark road.

The Marin Volkswagen dealer informs me that the JX4 electric drive motor, control electronics 2 and high voltage control module on my 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 all failed and need to be replaced. I am informed that a Volkswagen field representative went out to the Marin dealership and confirmed the necessity of these repairs. On [XXX], 2024, I was driving in the fast lane of [XXX] at a speed of somewhere between 65 /70 miles per hour when I heard a loud "pop" sound and a warning appeared on my dashboard indicating a system failure and warning me to immediately pull over. I had lost all motor power and had to use whatever remaining momentum I had to immediately get over to the right hand shoulder in rush hour traffic. Mine and the safety of all other drivers in the area were compromised because I could have been rear-ended at high speed if I had instead hit my brakes and lost momentum in getting over to the shoulder. I was lucky to have reacted in the manner that I did in maintaining my remaining momentum. There was a very minimal shoulder available for me to pull off on. A Marin County sheriff was able to pull up behind me with flashing lights to warn drivers in the right lane to steer clear and avoid my vehicle. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest VW dealership. I had charged the car at an Electrify America station in San Francisco about an hour prior to the incident and the car had sufficient battery power (approx. 80%). I had no prior indicators that there was any problem with the vehicle. At the time of the incident, I had previously received all software updates and had the 30K maintenance service on [XXX], 2023 at Dirito Bros. Volkswagen in Walnut Creek, CA. While driving on highway, the driver side door opened with no user input. This happened twice. Once before the handle water ingress recall, and another incidence after the first recall was fixed. Apparently, it did not address problem. The door continues to pop open while the car is moving at high speed unexpected.
