  The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board have determined that Volkswagen vehicles equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder TDI engine do not comply with applicable emissions regulations. The emissions control systems on the vehicles will not control emissions under off-cycle conditions as effectively as during the federal test procedure. The extent of the emissions increase under off-cycle conditions depends upon how the vehicles are driven.

  Update to MIB2 information to include 2015 and 2017 model year. On cars with a single USB port, the Apple authentication chip is in the USB port. On cars with 2 USB ports (one front and one rear), the authentication chip is in the USB hub. CarPlay will not work from a rear USB port. For static connection issues with no faults, no cable issues and no debris in the phone’s cable port, swapping the USB port or hub with a known good part should be the first step in diagnosis.

Replacement intake manifolds for CCTA engines have an improved intake manifold flap valve -N316.The new -N316- valve has 3 hose ports rather than 2 (See Figure 1), requiring a fresh air line be installed during intake manifold replacement. This fresh air line will prevent dirt and debris from contaminating the -N316- solenoid.
