- #11747357June 30, 2026TRAILER HITCHES
The contact owns a 2024 Ram 3500 equipped with Weigh Safe Trailer Heavy Duty Transfer Hitch Model, Serial Number: (Unknown), also known as the Heavy-Duty Weight Distribution Hitch, True Tow Distribution Hitch Heavy Weight. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, an aluminum pin sheared off, causing the trailer hitch to disconnect from the vehicle. The contact became aware that the trailer was slightly drifting towards the right. The contact released the accelerator pedal, and the trailer slightly lowered and was dragging on the pavement. The contact stopped the vehicle, activated the hazard lights, and reconnected the trailer with a spare trailer hitch. The contact emailed the manufacturer to report the failure and provided photos of the damage. The manufacturer advised the contact to go to the website to file a warranty claim; however, the contact was unable to complete the warranty claim. The failure mileage was unavailable.

PTC heater short circuited, overheated and scorched/melted itself as well as other plastic Hvac components and sent toxic fumes into the passenger compartment via the HVAC vents. This truck has been in 2 different Dodge dealer service departments multiple times for the same failures. After repairs were performed, the same failures occurred on the way home from the dealer. The PTC heater grid sits INSIDE of the HVAC airway. I am now experiencing multiple adverse medical symptoms from these exposures.

- #11743207June 10, 2026EXTERIOR LIGHTING
This model of truck has 4 led lights that will never turn off. Using the switch in the cab does not affect them. When the headlight switch is in off, manual, or parking - these lights remain on. Additionally, there is no setting in the software that provides control over these lights. I have interacted with Stallantis Customer Service, and my local dealer -both state: "Lights are working as designed". Contrary to this, the owners manual states that the lights can be turned off using the switch. There are times, after dark, where parking lights are appropriate, but headlights are not. It seems to me a design flaw and dangerous to give the operator of the vehichle zero control over these "halo lights".

There have been a couple of instances where the running boards haven’t deployed when the door has been opened. The most recent caused my 10yr old to FALL OUT IF THE TRUCK and get injured. I believe the combination that is causing it is to get in the truck, hit acc and get I’ll all windows down. Then turn off the acc and stay seated in the truck for some time. Then open the door from inside and they don’t deploy…

- #11741870June 3, 2026TIRES
I have a 2024 Ram 3500 with 9661miles, equipped with Firestone Transforce AT LT285/60R20 Load range E tires. These tires are date coded 3123 which make them just under 3 years old as of this report. All 4 of the tires have developed spider cracking in the valley of the first set of lugs from the outside sidewalls. It is cracked consistently all around the tire(only in this area, no other cracks exist on the tire). This cracking is consistent and present on all four of the tires. The cracks continue to open up and are to the point that I am afraid to drive the truck. I have been to both the selling dealer and 2 separate Firestone Corporate Sponsored Tire stores for inspections. Everyone seems to agree that this should not happen, but no one wants to take responsibility for the warranty to correct this concern. The selling dealer indicates that they are not responsible for the tire warranty and the Firestone Stores and a district represent have communicated to me that, even though that I purchased the truck brand new, I am not the original purchaser of the tires and therefore they are not covered under warranty. Obviously, a finger pointing exercise and choice by each manufacture to place my safety at risk. I have no choice except to purchase new tires so that I can continue to operate my truck safely. I have pictures of the concerns, and the tires will be available for inspection if requested.

My ram truck will intermittently have a Christmas tree of warning lights on the instrument cluster, which occur while driving. During these periods, I do not have access to four-wheel-drive, accident avoidance, antilock brakes, etc. If I continue driving the truck for the remainder of the day, the lights will usually go off, but will be stored in the vehicles PCM. the dealership has previously evaluated this and reports that they cannot fix or evaluate the vehicle because there is not an active warning light when I bring it to the dealership. However, when these lights occur, I could be towing a heavy trailer and have no access to the truck safety systems until the lights correct itself. This has occurred more than once. I do not take photos of the lights each time. The photo included is only one of the times. The last time I believe this occurred was on 1/29/2026. Each episode are the exact same warning lights.

Hello, I am formally documenting a serious safety incident involving my recently purchased 2026 Dodge Ram 3500 Tradesman 6.7L dually, purchased from Towbin Dodge in [XXX] , on May 9, 2026. On May 13, 2026—only five days after purchase—we were operating the truck for our dumpster business while towing a GN trailer loaded with approximately 5 tons. We were traveling down Mount Charleston after a pickup when a critical brake failure occurred. While descending the mountain grade, the truck’s braking system failed to respond. A warning light appeared on the dashboard indicating an issue with the electric brake system. We had tow/haul mode and exhaust braking engaged, but neither system functioned properly. When my father pressed the brake pedal, the vehicle did not slow down. With a steep descent ahead and no effective braking response, my father was forced to steer the vehicle off the road into a ditch to avoid a direct impact with the mountain, which could have resulted in a fatal collision. After stopping, we noticed signs of extreme brake overheating, and the system appeared to be close to catching fire. I have video and other documentation of the incident. The vehicle is currently in the dealer’s possession. This is a major safety failure occurring within days of purchase, and I am requesting a full investigation into the brake system and all related components, including any recalls, defects, or electronic braking malfunctions. I do not want the truck anymore! Given the severity and risk to life involved, I am requesting immediate action and a full resolution regarding this vehicle. The truck had about 7400 miles on it. It gave a warning that the DPF was near full and take it to dealer, about 20 minutes late it said DPF full power reduced. Two days later it cleared that code and began flashing the turn signal intermittently and giving warnings that the trailer brakes were not working, then that the tailgate was down. Shortly after that the instrument cluster went completely blank. I was driving it to the dealer when it ran out of fuel and forced me to stop on the highway. The vehicle has been at the dealer for almost 4 months now. When they replaced the dash cluster it would take too long to start. They replaced multiple modules and I believe three dash clusters before declaring it repaired. I picked it up for a test drive and the frontal collision warning came on intermittently along with a warning that automatic wipers would not work. I took it back. While at the dealership they reported to me that it developed additional issues and would not shift into gear. It is still at the dealership in Pine Bluff AR.

- #11736214May 7, 2026FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
Vehicle sends cluster warnings about Auto Emergency Braking unavailable/inoperable, Electronic Stability Control needs service, Antilock Brake System needs service, Parksense Unavailable, and ultimately the Check Engine indicator illuminates after restarting the vehicle. An error code also is present in the computer, U1412. This has happened twice now in a two week period. These systems are critical to safe operation of he vehicle, especially in emergency braking conditions, and could affect both the operator and the general public if they indeed failed. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, yet, and is scheduled for 5/8/2026

- #11735999May 6, 2026FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL
The contact owns a 2021 RAM 3500. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the entire fuel system needed to be replaced due to the high-pressure fuel pump exploding after metal shavings were found throughout the entire system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 77,000.

While driving with a trailer after leaving a jobsite in [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure while in motion. The instrument cluster/speedometer screen went completely black and the vehicle lights stopped functioning properly while driving at night. During the incident, we lost the speedometer display and visibility from the vehicle lighting system, creating a serious safety hazard while towing a trailer on public roads. Because of the electrical failure, we were forced to pull off on the side of the road to avoid a potentially dangerous situation. After shutting the truck down and waiting approximately one hour, the vehicle was restarted and the systems eventually began functioning again. This vehicle is used regularly for commercial towing and jobsite operations. A sudden loss of instrument display, lighting systems, and electrical functionality while towing creates a major safety concern for both the occupants of the vehicle and surrounding traffic. The failure appeared intermittent because the vehicle resumed operation after sitting for a period of time. However, the incident involved complete loss of critical vehicle display and lighting systems while driving. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
