POWER TRAIN
about 2 years ago (2021) both me and my wife's my nissan cvt transmission went out and needed repair. In my case the transmission overheated, losing power while driving 80mph almost leaving me and my family stranded on the highway while coming back from trip late at night. Took car to dealership where they diagnosed transmission had overheated. After contacting manufacturer Nissan they offered to repair the transmission. Now today [XXX] I took my car in again because the transmission seems to not switching gears as it should. To which After diagnostic and road tests the dealer advise I needed a new transmission which will cost at minimum $5000! This is the same dealership the transmission was supposedly "repaired" 2 years ago. After further research on my own I found out nissan vehicles has had a history of transmission issues with its cvt transmission. In both instances there could have been an accident. Why weren't nissan owners made aware of their faulty transmissions? Attached is a document I found while doing research showing they were aware of their transmission issues and chose not to make its customers aware. By paying out settlements. The document shows vehicles up to model year 2010. However me and my wife's vehicles was model year 2014. Bought the same time and had transmission issues around the same time! This is not a coincidence. Its a pattern. So I'm sure there are other later model years that may have same issues but Nissan is reluctant to admit that. Something needs to be done! STEERING:LINKAGES:TIE ROD ASSEMBLY
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while his wife was pulling out of the parking lot, the steering wheel suddenly pulled to the right and the front passenger's side tire became misaligned. The contact stated that the vehicle became undrivable. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the tie rod was bent and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, and a wheel alignment was performed; however, the steering wheel did not return to the center position. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the repair was not covered under warranty because the dealer had informed them that the failure occurred due to an impact; however, the contact stated that there was no impact. No further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 16,655.

SEATS
This is about Driver Seat making click noise under the seat whenever you break or start from a stop(accelerate from stopped position). The same click noise during driving if you break and accelerate. Its similar to noise if you click seat belt. Its something wrong going within the seat itself or seat assembly to the car's body. The seat railing itself looks good. When showed to dealer they saying some coins or objects stuck , but there are no objects stuck at railing. Found same complaints by many owners in the internet. I feel the seat may compromise on any sudden stop/break or if any accident. No other seats giving this click noise. No warning lamps on the dashboard.

POWER TRAIN
Transmission problem out of no where. Acceleration changed with a high reving/whining noise, with no power on the gas pedal while turning left, putting me and my family at risk. There were no warning lights and no warning whatsoever. There has been no recall with this type of CVT transmission as there should as it is a HIGH RISK of DANGER on the road! I can't even believe that Nissan won't even address the issue. Do not buy this vehicle! Auto parts stores do not even carry parts for this car to replace transmission or torqure converter you have to go to NISSAN dealership(That should tell you SOMETHING) and they won't address the safety the issue nor do they care. PLEASE recall this transmission issue. It is a defect all the way Very unsafe. The cost to replace the transmission through the dealer is a lot of money just to have it be defective again down the road is NOT WORTH your safety.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I was driving home from work and my car braked really hard without me touching the brake. The dash board light flashed a warning that was red and white and an alarm went off. This is available upon request. My safety was put at risk because this happened as I was accelerating through a green traffic light. There were people behind me who could have slammed into me, endangering me and them. This happened one other time last week but for a short period of time and it barely braked. It has not yet been inspected, but I plan to call my local dealership.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SEAT BELTS, VISIBILITY/WIPER
I purchased this vehicle new and started having issues with it at 3,000 miles. The screen freezes or just stops working, the HVAC system blows out 2 totally different temps even though it's "Synced" on the same temp. My blind spot warning is malfunctioning, the rear camera has stopped working and the rear tailgate fills with water, I was told I would need a whole new tailgate to fix that, I supposedly had the retractors replaced in my seatbelts and those still do not retract. The car has slammed on the brakes on the highway for no reason causing a burn on my neck, supposedly that recall was performed but I dont think it was. I have also caught Gandrud Nissan in an act of fraud once already regarding my vehicle being there for an entire week and them trying to say it was never there, and I believe they never performed these recalls or fixes, otherwise my seatbelts should work and my cameras would be working. This vehicle has given me nothing but issues since I bought it. I have video and paperwork to back this all up. When I asked to speak with the owner of Gandrud Nissan who has done all the work on my vehicle while under warranty, he refuses to call me back. I would like an investigation done to see if these parts have been replaced and the recall work was actually performed, I do not want Nissan notified until after another party has checked to see if the work was done.

While driving home from work, the vehicle's transmission stopped working, resulting in coasting out of traffic and requiring a tow home at night. My safety and the safety of others were at risk. The next morning, the vehicle was towed to the mechanic shop, which confirmed the transmission failed and needs a complete replacement. There was not any warning lights or clear symptoms. In hindsight, there were some slight performance warnings that began about 2 miles prior to failure. The vehicle had a slight hesitation (like driving a car that wasn't warmed up prior to the 1990s or using cheap gas) but it was so slight and not alarming or cause for concern. The following day I was scheduled to drive to San Fransisco, had the failure occurred on I-80, it would have been a dangerous situation. Another safety issue is the radio screen that doesn't work when the outside temperature is hot, it flashes so bright, and it is so distracting that I put a postcard in front of it to dim the strobe effect. The dealership said I need to replace the computer but it was safe to drive. This vehicle has been well maintained and has approx 121k miles. The link to the repair estimate from the mechanic stopped working after I declined the $9000 cost. So I cannot provide that. The vehicle was towed back to my home, and it is parked in my driveway until I figure out what to do.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ENGINE
I have had my car in the service center 5 times for the same reason they tell me it is fixed but the problem keeps happening. I have tried to be cooperative . the car has been in the shop on and off since the 18 of July at one point they had it almost a month. This last time they gave it back to me said it was fixed. This is why i'm writing to you I had the car a week and I was driving on interstate 65 I was in the middle lane doing 70 MPH with a tractortrailer on each side of me starting up a long hill with another truck coming up behind me, when my car dropped down to 40 MPH since I knew what was happening I put on my emergency flashers, thank God the truck driver behind me was paying attention because he was coming up behind me pretty fast because of the hill He slowed down and moved over to block the slow lane so I could get over I had my 2 granddaughters in the car with me, and things could have been very bad if the trucker behind me had not been paying attention My Granddaughters and I could have been killed. Now I am afraid to drive the car the dealership told me to Call Nissan hot line and tell them what happened Nissan said they had something else to fix and my car would be fine, well now I'm afraid to drive the car and Nissan said they didn't have to do anything else to help me. I put 20,000.00 down on this car so I could keep my payments down. and now I'm stuck with a car I'm afraid to drive. am a [XXX] Grandmother trying to take care of my 3 Grandchildren on a fixed income I have 1 in collage 1 who works but doesn't drive and 1 in high school . I have to have a car I can depend on .I'm sorry to go on and on but please tell me if there is anything I can do. STEERING
Tue 10/17/23...power steering assist failed...steering locked up while exiting my driveway. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan 8125 E. Colonial Dr. Orl FL 32817. They repaired vehicle and I picked it up Fri 10/20/23. They claimed this was an anomaly and would never happen again. Thu 10/26/23 steering kept locking up and releasing...steering light on dashboard kept going on/off. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. They claimed they found nothing wrong and returned vehicle to me. Tue 10/31/23 felt steering acting when parking...drove around building complex and parked several times...felt nothing. Thu 11/2/23 after making a left turn while driving steering locked up causing me to lose control and end up diagonally across middle of road narrowly missing another vehicle. driver of other vehicle came to my assistance and thought I had a medical episode and wanted to call 911. I had to fight the steering to get it out of the middle of the road. She then thought I was under the "influence". I had to have her check the steering to convince I was not. She then remarked that I should not be driving a "defective" vehicle on the road which can easily cause an accident resulting in serious injury or even death to myself and /or other motorists. Had vehicle towed to Sutherlin Nissan. Fri 11/3/23 went to Sutherlin and told them I would not be driving the said vehicle again and like to turn it in under the "Lemon Law"......they refused.....I am here wondering what should be my next course of action. I still owe the Bank and am responsible for the payments/balance.... they have possession of the vehicle.. and I am without transportation. I am suspecting that the vehicle might have some history of steering problems with a previous owner and asked them to show me the previous service history...but they refused.

- Automatic Emergency Brake Malfunction. Was driving when suddenly without warning the vehicle started braking - flashing lights on dashboard. It all happened so fast and brief I did not see what the warning said. - At the time I did not know if it was the vehicle braking or a transmission issue, but after the event everything was back to normal. - My mechanic scanned the vehicle next morning and said there was an AEB incident recorded. - I have since turned the AEB feature off upon starting the car each time, but a warning will always pop up while driving - System Malfunction.

As part of NHTSA Campaign Number 23V093000, Nissan provided an interim remedy by inserting a fastener into the key slot of the jackknife key on July 21, 2023. After this interim remedy, key blade could not be folded back into the key fob. Another notice was received from Nissan recently which stated that they have a permanent remedy for this which is to insert a spacer into the key slot. As with the interim remedy, the permanent remedy will also prevent the key blade from being folded back into the key fob. In addition, the letter from Nissan states that any keys that are not repaired will be deactivated. Carrying a key with an open key blade in the pant pocket is causing skin irritation and there is a possibility of injury as well. If I decide to get the keys repaired as required by Nissan, then it I have to deal with the skin irritation and possibility of injury. If I decide to not get the keys repaired, then Nissan will deactivate my keys effectively locking me out of own car that is fully paid off.

August 2022 Passenger Vehicle Seat Belt system light came on, concern was if the seat belt would work when occupied. Vehicle was taken to Baytown Nissan for Passenger seat belt light malfunction, was advised to replace the Occupant Control Unit and Occupant Pressure Sensor with Callibration 3.0. The light eventually corrected itself. August 2023 The Passenger Airbag Light stayed on and says the Airbag is turned off when someone is seated in the vehicle, concern is occupant safety. Took vehicle to Baytown Nissan for diagnostic, code is b00a0 module malfunction, again advised to replace OCS Control and Callibrate. I have seen previous recalls on air bag malfunctions and would like to know why this is not a safety recall. This is my fourth Nissan vehicle and never had this problem and the other vehicles were older.

The driver side heat blows cold air and won't defrost properly not to mention I am old and can't survive the winters without heat. I live in upstate NY where we get tons of snow, white out conditions etc etc. Our first snowfall was 11/1/23 yesterday and I was wiping my window because I couldn't see anything and had an emergency that I had to go to and went in the other lane because I couldn't see. Thankfully I realized at the last second by looking out my drivers side window. I looked this up and there was another complaint about the same thing and the reported cost was $3300.00 which I don't have because we live paycheck to paycheck. I love my Nissan Rogue and was going to continue buying Nissan vehicles until this happened and now I'm scared to death to even drive it. I will not purchase another one if this can't be fixed. I will probably end up trading it in. I can't afford to fix it or drive it since I don't want to crash.

There is a strong smell of gas/exhaust fumes in the vehicle when it's running. The smell is absolutely nauseating. I've been told that at this point Nissan is aware of the issue and there is no fix as of yet. Now I'm stuck driving a brand new car that is making me and my family ill.

POWER TRAIN, ENGINE, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While driving home from work, my wife was attempting to merge onto the on-ramp to the highway, and the vehicle jerked violently and RPM's skyrocketed but the speed was barely climbing. The speed didn't rise above 20mph until RPM's reached 4k. We had to creep all the way home with the engine whining and juddering and couldn't go above 45mph. This is extremely dangerous and the mechanics are saying there's nothing they can do other than buy an entirely new transmission because the CVT is complete trash, ,there was all kinds of debris in the bottom of the pan and Nissan is acting like they have no idea what we are talking about. I'm at a complete lost as to why there aren't any recalls for the 2016 Nissan Rogue CVT transmissions!!!!!! This is unsafe and I will never purchase anything affiliated with Nissan!

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The Electronic A/C system for no reason will when I have the blower selected to defrost or head and feet it changes the blower things that control air flow to someplace in between. Nothing blows out if vents but fan is running. Kind of dangerous when you can’t defrost windows. I brought it yo dealer twice and of course it decided to start working again. I noticed that when it does that if i shut car off completely and wait a minute or so it works properly again. It has done this about a dozen times. Its like the airflow for blower heat/defrost goes into a halfway position and then i don’t get any airflow. This first happened in 2015 and is intermittent.
