POWER TRAIN
CVT transmission on a 2016 Nissan Rogue SL with 43,800 miles. Its available foe inspection. The vehicle transmission jerks, it hesitates, there is revving, and shudders. The problems was reproduced by a Nissan Dealer and inspected with a diagnosis of a bad transmission needing replacement. No warning or lamps before the 1st incident on April 8, 2024.

SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Hello: We bought the vehicle in 2021. After a few months, we noticed that the vehicle braked itself: meaning it auto-braked while driving at 25mph on the road. We took the vehicle to the dealer for repair. They said, "the vehicle was absolutely fine and perhaps something in the way of the vehicle triggered braking". I, the driver replied, I didn't have any vehicles either in front of or behind me. And besides, I understand the "safety features" and functionalities. Yet, they gave me the vehicle without repair. After a few months, same thing happened: the vehicle auto-braked or braked itself without me the driver putting my foot on the brakes. This time I also called the company's consumer affairs who said they'd help. The consumer affairs worked with the dealer. The dealer now said, "yes the vehicle indeed had auto-braking issues and it could be fixed, and that they'll fix it". So, I, now assured that the vehicle was a 100% fine when it came to auto-braking had been driving the vehicle until today April 16th, 2024, when while driving out on the city in 25mph the vehicle auto-braked again! I emailed the dealer and also called the company's consumer affairs (at their headquarters) to keep them in the loop today, and expect to hear back from them. In this instance, (3rd in 2-3 years), I'm not sure whether the dealer will brush aside the problem as "nothing" as in the first instance, or purport to "fix the issue" without actually fixing it, as in the second instance. At any rate, it came down to a "matter of principle": meaning since I'm not sure if the vehicle's intrinsic defect will be "resolved completely ever", I have to report it to "governing authorities". I hope you will take it from here and do the needful. Thank you in advance for your support.

The driver's side door does not open consistently. It started happening around November 2023. It seems to be at random times. Sometimes the door will not open when I need to get in and other times when I need to get out. It will not unlock with the key fob or by unlocking it from the inside manually. I have to climb across the passenger seat and use that door.

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on multiple occasions while in reverse, the rear-view camera display was black. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was corrosion in the plug and the rear-view camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and two weeks later the failure reoccurred twice. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 22V772000 (Back Over Prevention) and 22V527000 (Back Over Prevention, Equipment). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

I purchased a 2022 Nissan Rogue in October 2022. Almost immediately I started noticing a smell of gasoline not only while I was driving but more so after I pulled the car in the garage and turned it off. The smell was very strong. I called the dealership and made a service appointment (they should have the service records). They checked it out, said they couldn't find anything leaking, etc. but that it was a known issue, Nissan knew about it, but there wasn't a fix in place yet. I also received a recall notice to have a part on the fuel pump replaced and that was completed. It did not fix the problem. I still smell fuel when I park my car in the garage. I'm very worried about the fumes and the problem that's causing them. I am also very concerned about oil dilution and the damage that is doing to my car's engine and the cost of repairs I may have in the future. PLEASE help us with this. This is a huge problem and if you Google it, it's affecting so many people. PLEASE hold Nissan accountable and help us get resolution. As individuals we're getting no where and it's costing us as far as our health and those that ride in the car with us as well as costing us in repairs or replacement of engine systems due to oil dilution. PLEASE act quickly and help with this known problem. Car was purchased from and serviced by Marshall Motors in Salina, Kansas. Thank you!

Transmission revs and won't shift. At the time I was bringing my husband from VA Hospital. I pulled over and waitedfor a few minutes. I drove to my mechanic and he checked it out and said I need a new transmission. I have had this issue before over the years but this time engine light stayed on.

SUSPENSION, WHEELS, STEERING
At March 23rd, 2024, we have oil change on the car. The service sales came back to tell us that the front lower control arms' bushing is torn and needed repair immediately. Without repairing them, the wheels may disengage from the car. So we have them replaced, since losing the wheels during driving will cost our lives. This is for our safety. What can we do???!!! On conversation with the sales, he said this is a common phenomenon. Our problem on this is that, all the cars that we have owned, we never had the issue. This is the first time. Is this a common occurrence? We are not sure. And we simply can not understand why eight months ago during another oil change, this issue was not detected?! Could this be a faulty component installed on the car, we questioned? We also contacted Nissan consumer affairs. Their specialist insisted our car is out of warranty. There is nothing they can do. Is this a responsible car manufacturer's response? At least, they should look in the issue and gave us a satisfying answer, we believed. Anyway, please look into this. On the parts that were replaced, dealership has them. We don't have them in our hand.Sorry about this. All and all, please look into the issue. We just want other Rogue owners spared of the issue! The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, there was an abnormal fuel odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the local service center which diagnosed that the mass air flow sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The mass air flow sensor was replaced, and the acceleration failure was corrected; however, the fuel odor remained inside the cabin of the vehicle. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 124,000.

AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS
I was traveling east bound and trash collection truck was parked on the shoulder facing east. I could not see the truck because of the position of the sun, and when I did see the parked trash truck, I swerved to miss it but struck the left rear of the parked trash truck with the right front of my vehicle going 35mph. Air bags did not deploy nor did the seat belt lock. I was tranferred to the hospital and sustained 4 broken ribs and an abrasion on my right elbow. Police department and EMS did see that air bags did not deploy. Police report shows code for the air bag and seat belt malfunctions. No warning messages etc of any kind showed up.

Was driving on [XXX] from Sioux Falls, SD to Rapid City, SD on [XXX]. Just east of the [XXX], SD exit, we hit black ice driving approximately 75mph. We lost control, and the car went head first into a metal cable guard rail. The front end is destroyed, and the front doors and roof also received significant damage. I do believe that insurance is going to consider it a total loss based upon my observation and the response of the body shop it is currently at. None of the airbags deployed, even given the speed we were driving and the direct head on impact. The Trooper originally said that he was not going to ticket me for anything as I was driving under the speed limit and not overdriving, however, came back later and said that he would have to ticket me because the DOT would throw a fit if he didn't because they would have to fix the guard rail. The panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded while on the highway. The noise was highly disturbing and almost made us crash because it was so unexpected. A glass company and insurance adjuster have looked at it and determined the whole system will have to be removed. There were no prior warnings.

On [XXX], I bought a 2023 Nissan Rogue Platinum from Car Max, East Haven, CT with 15,500 miles on it, original tires. We noticed the Dunlap GrandTrek PT20 235/55R19 101V treads were warn for only 15,500 miles. Took the car on [XXX] to Town Fair Tire, Milford, CT to measure treads and they agreed that they were too warn for 15,500 miles. Their report showed remaining tread life FL-1, FR-1, RL-1, RR-1 and suggested I had one month left. I then took it to Paul Miller Nissan, Black Rock, CT [XXX] where their report showed "May require future attention" LF 5, RF 5, LR 4, RR 4 and said I WILL need tires before winter. Contacted Good Year claim number [XXX] and had the tires inspected by Jordan of Modern Tires, Shelton, CT who contacted Good Year after inspection. He got a response of tires not covered, too bad for you from Good Year. I'm [XXX] now because how can a 1 year old car with 15,500 miles need new tires? WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IN CERTAIN EXIT OF HWY THE CAR GIVES ME THE SIGN TO EXIT OUT AND SUDDENLY SHUTS THE GAS OFF AND SLOWS THE CAR ABOUT 20 TO 30 MILES IN 2 SECONDS , AFTER I PAST THE EXIT I REGAIN THE CONTROL OF THE GAS ACCELERATION , TOOK IT TO DEALER FOR REPAIR 3 TIMES MANAGER DROVE THE CAR AND WITNESS THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME WE HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CONTACTED NISSAN AND I HAVE Case # [XXX] AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND THIS IS A VERY BAD SAFETY CONCERN AND THE CAR IS STILL ALMOST BRAND NEW PURCHASED ON [XXX] AND I HAVE ALL THE RECORDS FOR ALL THE ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR IT AND ITS UNDER WARRANTY AND I HAVE NO RESULTS AT ALL I THINK NISSAN IS AWARE BY THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND THEY ARE TRYING TO DENY IT UNTIL SO MANY PEOPLE WILL GET KILLED FROM THIS BAD PROBLEM . Was at a complete stop at a red light, was struck from behind in which the car was going approximately 50 miles an hour, and no airbags deployed. The police report stated that they did but in fact they did not. I provided pictures of the inside of the car after the accident showing that they did not deploy. Daughter in back seat suffered fractured vertebrae. She was sitting in center seat. There was an occupant in driver seat as well as front passenger. Driver may have hit chin on driver’s wheel causing bruising but no broken bones. Driver continues to have sore upper back as of April 2, 2024, but no broken bones. Pictures of police report also provided.
