My 2022 Mercedes GLE450 had water intrusion from the an AC vent hose that was not 'fixed' properly by Mercedes after they issues a recall for ALL 2020 and 2021 GLE450's. It took 9 months, endless gaslighting from Mercedes that I flooded the vehicle myself, a failed state-sponsored arbitration hearing only to find out Mercedes did NOT properly diagnose the vehicle from the start. I had officially 'given up' after almost a year of fighting this was not my fault, only to drive disassembled passenger seat and floor area down to Mercedes... to see the vehicle dripping water right into where nearly $20,000 of electronics were compromised. Mercedes has since fixed the vehicle, under warranty, yet they did NOT tel lme anything until the day the vehicle was fixed that it would be covered under warranty. They keep this away from the local dealer and had a traveling technician work on the vehicle to keep it entirely under wraps. I genuinely hope Mercedes is held accountable for taking full advantage of their customers while admitting (at least locally) that the 'fix' for the previously recalled vehicles is inadequate. Water intrusion, causing shorting of electronics and potential fire is a MASSIVE safety concern and they need to not only be held responsible yet held responsible for the pain and suffering caused by gaslighting customers and KNOWINGLY committing insurance fraud by forcing their customers to file insurance claims after not properly addressing the recall.

The vehicle, while on (P)ark, will move forward on its own. The vehicle will move either millimiters at a time or up to a quarter inch in a single incident. These incidents are continuous in nature and can be duplicated by simply putting the vehicle in Park after driving it shortly after start. The vehicle has been taken in several times to the dealership, where the Service Director has claimed that they cannot replicate the issue. Mercedes Benz refuses to address the issue as the vehicle is not producing any fault codes. I have videos and photos of this issue occurring, the latest set taken the afternoon of Saturday, July 27, 2024 between 6:00 p.m. and 7 p.m. A passenger can feel and hear the vehicle move forward, but the dealership Service Department director claims that this was "normal". As to the best of my understanding and research, a vehicle on (P) should not move a single millimeter, much lech up to a quarter of an inch. It is my opinion that this poses not just a driveability issue but also a safety issue as there is no assurance that the vehicle will remain immobilize while in (P)ark.

This is a known issue with GLE 450 48v batteries over heating and causing loss of power and all function to control the vehicle. , For an unknown reason my vehicle was not part of a recent recall and probably should have been. I experienced the issue today and escaped tragedy. My battery light came on, then off, then a bright red battery light came on across the dashboard…then all of a sudden, my car lost all power with no warning. All while driving on the freeway 394! Luckily traffic was light and I was able to coast halfway up an off ramp. Then I got an overheating message. Reports show all cars were recalled, however mine wasn’t part of the recall!! I would like an investigation to include all cars in the years and models not just some of them.

The glass panel between the windshield and sunroof became detached wile driving on the highway appears to be a factory defect where that the adhesive used failed and allowed this to fall off . This narrowly missed a vehicle behind me avoiding a catastrophic accident. This should be replaced and recalled by the Dealer . Thank you

Watch this report: [XXX] There was less than 1/2 a pound of refridgerant in my vehicle. The dealership - Mercedes Benz of Boerne inspected it. They extracted the refridgerant from the vehicle and hooked up leak system and monitor the gas to see if there is a leak and picked up in the center vent and the hose that goes to the vehicle's AC evaporator. There is a leak from the evaporator. This is a recurring problem that has popped up due to a recall in 2019: "The issue stems from air-conditioner drain hoses that may have been incorrectly installed, causing water to drain into the passenger compartment. Water intrusion into the footwells may cause corrosion or short circuits to electrical components, increasing the risk of fire. Furthermore, the emergency call feature may be disabled and the doors may not unlock, increasing the risk of injury. And as a final consequence, the engine may not start or may enter a limp-home mode, increasing the risk of a crash. To fix this potentially long-reaching issue, dealers will inspect and reinstall the drain hoses, as necessary, for free. Owner notification letters will be sent May 16, but those with further questions can contact Mercedes at 800-367-6372, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236, or visit its website to check their vehicle identification number and learn more." - #11602879July 17, 2024SUSPENSION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE, VISIBILITY/WIPER
The contact owns a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE350. The contact stated while driving in a rainstorm, the front windshield wipers would not properly clear the windshield, creating a visibility hazard for the driver. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the wiper arms and wiper blades, but the failure persisted. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the Forward Collision Avoidance feature malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to abruptly even though there were no other vehicles or objects nearby, and the audible alarm erroneously activated with no other vehicles nearby. The dealer reprogrammed the Forward Collision Avoidance sensors, but the failure persisted. Additionally, while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle was shaking and vibrating abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who realigned the front suspension, but the failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 2,731.

On July 3, 2024 I turned right out of a parking lot onto a busy road. The car sped up on its own and started speeding. It took me a couple of seconds to realize what was happening and put on the brake. The car ran through a red light, other cars were able to avoid hitting me. The car did stop then. There were no warning signs that this was going to happen. The dealership is going to investigate tomorrow. The car seems to be running fine since.

- #11595867June 22, 2024ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: BLIND SPOT DETECTION, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
My instrument cluster has gone black twice. Meaning I have no speedometer, gas gauge, etc. My blind spot monitoring, front parking, and other safety features do not work when this happens. It stays this way for several hours and then displays again, usually overnight. Mercedes has denied the issue, despite me providing a video of the malfunction while driving. They have had my car for 25 days and provided no resolution, claiming there is no issue. MBUSA has not responded to my inquiry/complaint.

intermittent inability to shift gears which progressively gets worse wirh complete failure at some point. Inability to shift from reverse to drive has left me in many unsafe situation including failure in the middle of the road. Both manufacturer car dealership and independent mechanic verified the shift column control module needs to be replaced; however, part is not currently available from Meredeces-Bez and there is no ETA. The shift column control module is tied to the air bag system and therefore could potentially also fail. Both car dealership and independent mechanic confirmed this is a recurring issue in various models. The day my car was taken to the dealership one other car had to be towed in due to car not shifting leaving car inoperable.

- #11594112June 13, 2024FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM, STRUCTURE:BODY
In May 2023 I took my 2016 GLE 450 AMG into "Park Place Motor Cars Mercedes" (Dallas) for the (MBUSA 2023010002 and 2023010003) "Water that could Leak into the Spare Tire area, Impacting the Fuel Pump" recall. Park Place stated that they didn't locate any signs of water in the trunk area and would place a water drain plug in the spare tire area to drain water, incase water entered the area. In January 26, 2024, while driving, my GLE 450 loss propulsion without warning causing me to almost get rear ended. Unbeknownst to me, that this was related to the recall from 2023, I had the vehicle towed to a local "certified repair shop". The shop stated that i would need to replace the fuel pump units. Approximately 2 months later while my daughter was driving the GLE 450, the vehicle loss propulsion without warning once again causing my daughter to be stranded at a "Stop sign" 30 miles from home at approximately 1245 am. I had the vehicle towed to "Park Place Motorcars". Service advisor informed me that the Fuel pump unit had failed due to water entering into the trunk and they would have to determine where the water was coming from. I then asked to speak to manager and I remembered that a recall describing this situation had been conducted less than a year prior to this incident (2x). After approximately 1 month the service advisor messaged me and stated that the repair(s) wouldn't be covered under the recall warranty due to the fact that debris was found underneath the vehicle, causing the drain plug to be blocked. I am terrified to allow my family to continue driving this vehicle with the current remedy that Mercedes has chosen to use (drain plug), that did NOT fix the problem specified in the defective issue within the recall paperwork. The REMEDY should be to determine how the water is entering into the vehicle. The water has caused 2 fuel pump incidents within 1 year leading to the loss of propulsion without warning and increasing the risk of a serious crash.
