  Some technicians may notice an oil seepage from the A/T at the thermo valve when the vehicle under covers are removed. This is caused by insufficient tightening torque of the thermo valve. To eliminate this concern, the tightening torque of the thermo valve has been modified from 52-59 ft-lbs (70-80 N·m) to 63-71 ft-lbs (86-96 N·m). Technicians seeing this concern should repair the vehicle using the following repair procedure.

  SSPD6 - SPECIAL SERVICE PROGRAM - VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (VCM) PROGRAMMING - 2024 CX-90 SSPD6 - 2024 CX-90 - Vehicle Control Module (VCM) Reprogramming: This campaign will resolve three different concerns. Unintentional warning or braking when backing up. When backing up the vehicle in a parking lot or similar area, the View Monitor Camera (VMC) may detect certain physical obstacles lower to the ground such as, the tires of an adjacent vehicle, parking lines, plants, etc. even though there are no obstacles behind the vehicle. Under this condition, the Smart Brake Support (SBS) system may determine that there is a possibility of a collision, notifying with a visual (screen display) and audible (warning sound), and the brakes possibly being applied in certain cases. Driver recognition result is not displayed (on equipped vehicles) The Driver Personalization system may not recognize the driver’s face to change the seat position settings that have been programmed. In this case the vehicle interprets the driver as a “guest” (non-personalized). The vehicle driver must be in the driver’s seat within 15 seconds of unlocking the vehicle to initiate the Driver Recognition function. Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) may reduce speed to match adjacent lane vehicle While driving on a curved road condition with the Mazda Radar Cruise Control (MRCC) activated, a vehicle in the right or left lane may be detected as a vehicle in front of the CX-90 and the MRCC will unexpectedly reduce vehicle speed to match the detected vehicle. The repair will be reprogramming the VCM with modified software via M-MDS, using MDARS. There are 28,404 vehicles in the campaign in the U.S. and U.S. Territories.

  Some customers may experience a warning message for the approaching vehicle audible system (AVAS) right after the ignition is turned on (POWER ON) while a loud noise, such as a horn, occurs close to the vehicle. Upon inspection, DTC B1A03:2B [ISB_AMP] (AVAS device circuit malfunction) is stored in memory. (AVAS Malfunction, Pedestrians May Not Hear This Vehicle Approach, Drive Safely, Have the Vehicle Inspected) This may be caused by an internal initial diagnosis in the notification and warning amplifier detecting a false malfunction under this particular situation. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the notification and warning amplifier has been modified.

  On some vehicles, an engine oil leak from the rear of the engine at the turbocharger drain back tube could be be confused as an oil leak from behind the bell housing. The bolt holes for the drain back tube to the block are drilled through to the inside of the engine and thread sealer was not properly applied to the bolts threads, causing oil to leak past the threads. NOTE: The WSM was updated to show these bolts are a to be replaced if removed. New bolts will have thread sealer already applied.

  Some customers may experience a vehicle no start (no "Ready-ON") due to the 12V battery discharged or the High Voltage (HV) battery discharged. This may be caused by: Ignition left ON when exiting the vehicle (exiting the vehicle during "Ready-On"). Door/liftgate opened multiple times without ignition "Ready-ON" or driving vehicle. Installation of aftermarket electronic devices. To minimize the battery drain concern, ensure that the vehicle shift selector is in Park when exiting and verify the ignition is turned OFF when exiting. NOTE: If multiple door/liftgate opening without "Ready-ON', drive vehicle to charge 12V battery.
