SummaryAfter an HV inverter replacement, there is no instruction in the WSM to perform Initial Learning of the Electric Motor Speed Sensor. This is required after replacing the inverter or electric motor. As a result, when attempting to start the vehicle, the Internal combustion (ICE) engine will start and then stop with DTC P0C17 stored. If this DTC is set, refer to P0C17:00 [SGC2/DMCM (e-SKYACTIV PHEV)] in the troubleshooting manual. NOTE: When attempting to complete the Learn of Electric Motor Speed Sensor with MDARS, it will be unsuccessful until the vehicle is shut off and left undisturbed for 1-2 hours. Make sure the 12V battery is fully charged and the EV battery is charged, then connect the battery and wait a minimum of 1-2 hrs with the ignition OFF before proceeding directly to the relearn procedure. DO NOT start the engine until directed to do so in the relearn procedure.

IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a CX-90 equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch.

With the CX-90 and CX-70 introduction of the front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout, the washer tank shape was changed from a vertical to a horizontal type. This makes it look like there is still enough liquid left if viewed from the spout when the warning light comes on.

SummarySome customers may complain that the 2 mph rear BCM power liftgate (PLG) warning beep is too low, making it difficult to notice that the PLG is not closed properly with the front instrument panel warning lights. As the vehicle speeds up to above 6 mph, the front BCM warning beep will activate to notify the driver that the PLG may not be properly closed due to interference from rear cargo items. This is caused by the warning beep volume on the rear BCM being set too low. To eliminate this concern, the PLG control module has been modified.
