SummaryDue to a manufacturing change, the CX-70/CX-90 transmission has undergone a transmission part design change when replacing the transmission assembly. Old design originally required a coolant line running to the top of the bell housing, the new design has omitted the hole and need for the coolant line. The new/superseded design can be used in place of the old/original design and the coolant hose is no longer needed to be used.

SummaryThis Service Alert provides information for the following symptoms. Although Battery State of Charge (SOC) is full, Maximum Driving Distance Display shows 1 mile (1 km). • Although Battery SOC is full, the vehicle cannot drive using EV mode (using electric motor power only) and will use HEV mode (using both electric power and a gas engine. • This is caused by low ambient temperature and low battery temperature. EV mode is suspended until the battery warms up to protect it from degradation and the gas engine will power the vehicle. This is normal operation. If the battery pack is able to warm up, EV mode will start and the display will change to show the correct Maximum Driving Distance Display for EV mode.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit poor hands-free liftgate operation after a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch accessory installation. IMPORTANT: When a Mazda genuine trailer tow hitch is installed on a CX-90 equipped with hands-free liftgate function, the sensing area is reduced due to the mechanical structure of the hitch. The hands-free liftgate’s optimal sensing area below the rear bumper is shown in green boxes in the image below. Since the left side of the hitch has a 7-pin connector socket, the right side is the most ideal for hands-free operation. For safety, be extra careful performing the kicking motion around the hitch.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit a rattle noise from the panorama sunroof. This may be caused by: Body vibration while driving and/or outside-temperature changes creating slight gaps between the plastic grommets and the roof reinforcement cover during use. • A slight gap between the drip rail and the roof reinforcement, causing interference. • To eliminate this concern, the shape of the panorama sunroof unit will be modified. NOTE: If the rattle noise is from rear end of the sunroof (the rear glass panel), refer to TSB 09-045/24 - RATTLE NOISE FROM REAR END OF PANORAMA SUNROOF WHILE DRIVING. This TSB is NOT applicable. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

When you open the hood, after completing the hood in service mode, the stay damper might rattle because it loses internal pressure support to the hoodfender- strut system. SummarySome customers may complain about a low washer fluid level warning message even though a visual inspection of the washer fluid tank looks like it still has a fair amount of fluid in it. With the CX-90 and CX-70 introduction of the front-engine and rear-wheel-drive layout, the washer tank shape was changed from a vertical to a horizontal type. This makes it look like there is still enough liquid left if viewed from the spout when the warning light comes on.
