SummaryDue to a manufacturing change, the CX-70/CX-90 transmission has undergone a transmission part design change when replacing the transmission assembly. Old design originally required a coolant line running to the top of the bell housing, the new design has omitted the hole and need for the coolant line. The new/superseded design can be used in place of the old/original design, and the coolant hose with fitting is no longer needed.

SummaryThis may be caused by the door-side surface of the cushion trim being folded and compressed when exiting the vehicle and by the surface of the cushion bolster being rubbed and stretched when entering the vehicle. Repeated occurrences of these conditions may result in a crack forming in the surface of the seat cushion trim. To eliminate this concern, the material of the door-side surface of the front seat cushion trim has been modified to improve tear strength and scratch resistance. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

Summary7325C - EMISSION RECALL - 2024-2025 CX-90 AND 2025 CX-70 PHEV ONLY - HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT MAY TURN ON. Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct an Emission Recall on certain 2024-2025 CX-90 and 2025 CX-70 PHEV vehicles. Please see the description, model, year, and VIN range below for all vehicles in this campaign. There are 38,812 vehicles affected by this concern in the U.S. and U.S. Territories. Vehicles produced and sold by Mazda Canada Inc. are also included in this campaign and should be repaired if presented to your dealership following Mazda Warranty policy 3.30.STOP DELIVERY OF AFFECTED VEHICLES: MAZDA SALES AND SERVICE TEAMS - ACTION ITEM: There are approximately 5,197 vehicles in stock at U.S. Mazda dealers which must be repaired prior to delivery. All Mazda dealers must quarantine any affected new, used or CPO in-stock vehicles until the repair is completed. The affected dealer inventory list was provided to each District Service Manager with the notification of this dealer email. Once completed, the car can be delivered, and the Warranty claim can be submitted later without penalty since the car has been repaired. To All Mazda Dealers: Failure to properly perform any recall repair is a direct violation of Paragraph 14(F) of the Dealer Agreement and can cause one or more of the following: Mechanical breakdown or failure, crash or injury, Dealership penalties/fines by Mazda and CARB/EPA, increased liability risk for the dealership, Missed Recall penalties, loss of customer trust and a poor Customer Experience. Concern Outline: All vehicles can be repaired immediately upon receipt of this Mazda Dealer announcement by following the repair and warranty claiming procedures housed in Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS). On certain subject vehicles, during normal driving, a temporary decrease in insulation resistance may be detected, which could be mistakenly judged as an electric leakage, causing the hybrid system warning light to turn on and the leakage detection message to be displayed. The DTC P0AA6:00 may be stored in memory. In such a condition, once the vehicle power is switched off, it may become impossible to restart the vehicle due to fail-safe mode activation. Repair Outline: Reprogram the PCM with the Mazda Modular Diagnostic System (M-MDS), using Mazda Diagnostic and Repair Software (MDARS). The DTC code that may appear is P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance. The software update will re-calibrate electrical leakage detection criteria and allow vehicle re-start. Legitimate electrical leakage faults can still be detected and store DTC P0AA6:00. If DTC P0AA6:00 - High voltage insulation malfunction: Decrease in vehicle insulation resistance is still present after repair of the 7325C Recall, please diagnose the issue using the Workshop Manual or search for a current Technical Service Bulletin.

SummarySome vehicles equipped with the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) may exhibit the exterior light warning light/exterior light warning indication on while driving or when the ignition is turned on and DTC B10A3:86 (Error signal received from swivel actuator (LH)) stored in memory. NOTE: The combination light with AFS can be distinguished if it is equipped with the parking light/daytime running light (DRL) that illuminates while the ignition is turned on. This may be caused by the AFS Control Module detecting a false headlight malfunction. This concern will likely occur when the light returns to the center position after swiveling. To eliminate this concern, the control software of the AFS control module has been further modified. Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit a clicking, squeaking or rubbing noise when opening/closing the front door(s) of the vehicle. A clicking noise may be caused from the door connector sliding right and left, repeatedly connecting/half-connecting the connector tab, resulting in the stick-slip noise in the door side panel when opening/closing the front door. A squeaking or rubbing noise may be caused by the door harness interfering with the bottom edge of the door harness grommet when opening/closing the front door(s). To eliminate these concerns, a mass production change is under study.

SummaryImportant Note: This Service alert is intended as an early notification for upcoming software releases. Please refer to the latest dealer communications and MGSS for updated information. CX-90 MHEV Battery: Mazda is currently experiencing many backorders on MHEV Batteries (K6Y8-67-ZBXD). The issue causing most of the concerns is a cell imbalance inside the MHEV battery, which sets DTC P0DAB. The repair solution for this concern is to perform the software reflash and replace the battery as required. The cell balancing issue is resolved with a software reflash starting in November of 2023 production and this software update is part of recall 7024J - SAFETY RECALL - MULTIPLE ECU'S REPROGRAMMING. Ensure this recall is completed on every CX-90 that comes into your dealer to prevent possible MHEV cell imbalance. As a reminder, the MHEV battery is warrantied 8 years/80,000 miles to support our customers through the life of their vehicle. In terms of the MHEV Battery back-order status, as a result of significant efforts, including air-shipping hundreds of replacement batteries, we are projecting all current backorders will be filled by the last week of March 2025. CX-90 and CX-70 PHEV Electrical Leakage: Some customers have experienced an “electrical leakage fault” with DTC P0AA6 resulting in a no start condition after one key-cycle. Mazda has identified a PCM software programming issue that causes this DTC occurrence. Under current PCM logic, when P0AA6 detection occurs, the vehicle is prevented from restarting. The new software will be available in late March to reflash vehicles. This allows vehicles to be restarted if the fault is detected. Should the DTC persist, perform normal MGSS service procedures for electrical leakage diagnosis.

SummarySome customers may complain about a rattle or vibration noise coming from front map light surroundings when driving on a rough road. This may be caused by the bracket for the map light. Due to heat or vibrations, the fastener fixing the front map light to the bracket may deform, making the joint loose. In such case, when the vehicle bounces, the bracket may oscillate and produce a rattling noise. To eliminate that concern, non-woven fabric will be attached to the headliner.

When the rear sunshade is fully pulled up and then hooked up, the front hook's position may be lower, causing sagging on the front side of the rear sunshade.
