Since I purchased the car on 9/14/2020 I have had to get brakes done 3 times. First bought and replaced the brakes within 30days then on 12/22/21 replaced again and on 6/24/2022 brakes rotors and calipers.

Inverter fluid light has been coming on and staying on for over a month. It impedes the view of the digital display. The dealership has no fix nor any rental vehicles to bring my vehicle in. I have had this vehicle for 14 months. No one can tell me if this consistent light is harming my vehicle nor is there an urgency to repair. Unacceptable in a 40 grand vehicle

The Engine as while driving down road locked up on me causing the vehicle to stop running. From my understanding this type of engine has had issues in past and was under a class action lawsuit that also included Hyundai. Now Kia has responded saying my vehicle vin number isn't part of the theta engine recall. Which baffles me.

Was driving and came to a red light. Then proceeded to get on the highway when all of a sudden it got 65 mph then off of a sudden lost power and rpms would go past 3000. Had to pull over and shut the SUV off and turn back on and drive 30 mph all the way home. Did I mention I almost got hit by a semi and not to mention my child was in the freaking car!!! Plz kia help

Passenger seat belt not on warning no longer works when car is running or not running. Passenger can forget to put on seatbelt and no reminder chime. Problem is continuous. No warning lamps. Has been inspected but not repaired. Headlights come on and go off intermittently. Headlights come on when vehicle is off and not running Draining the battery down. Hard to duplicate. Has not been duplicated or repaired as it's intermittent without warning.

ENGINE
I reported a complaint on 1/24/2022. I had to replace my engine. I actually had to borrow the money. I went on Kia-Consumer-Assistance-to file a claim for reimbursement. They sent me a denial letter on 6/30/22 stating I did not have the knock sensor detector. Well I would have if I received the notice. I bought my car used. The dealership didn't have any recalls and I did not receive anything until May 2022. Kia emailed me about the knock sensor detector. Although I replaced my engine I had it installed on 6/17/22. How could have known about something that I never received. I didn't even know there was a class action lawsuit until I went on line to find Kia Corporate information. I emailed several people and nit one person emailed back. I was asking for assistance but I guess they delete it but I still have it. I feel like this is an ongoing issue with Kia and they need to reimburse everyone that has had engine failures due to THEIR NEGLIGENCE. Does someone have to be driving and the car turns off and they get hit because of the engine failure. This is a sign of bad business. My reimbursement for the engine needs to be approved. Kia has more than enough money. If they would have tested the GDI engines first before releasing them to the public they probably would not have half the complaints. I think another class action lawsuit should be filed against them. Not only has this impacted me financially but it has impacted me emotionally.

Sometime Mid May 2022 I was driving back from Tri City Washington. As I was passing a semi truck I noticed my car was losing some power. I ten was able to to get in front of the semi when I seen a place to pull off. During this time I noticed my dash lights were coming on. Engine light. I was lucky enough to pull off where on a side road in Warden, Washington. My car then ceased and would not start. I had to have it towed in my home town of Moses Lake, Washington to a auto mechanic by my resident. The name is Customs Auto on Broadway. They said it needed to go to a Kia Specialist/Mechanic for repairs. So I then had it towed to Over Turf Kia Dealership in Tri City, WA. where my car has been sitting since the end of May 2022. Nathan from Over Turf said I needed to replace my engine and quoted me at $6300.00 which is what I owe my bank loan with Wells Fargo. I only had 135,000 miles on it and not sure why all of a sudden my engine ceased. Now I have filed a complaint with NTSB they gave me a complaint #11466956 on Kia and their recalls. I had a recall repair on it September 2017 and had contacted Kia out of Wenatchee, WA where the recall was done. But they are closed down because of the covid. I am lost to what to do at this point. On 06/29/2022 brand new vehicle with 775 miles had a transmission failure warning appear on the dashboard. "Transmission system error! Check transmission oil immediately!" vehicle became sluggish and had to turn on hazards to crawl it back home. Brought to local dealership and they could not see any error codes or replicate the problem and gave us back the vehicle. On 07/01/2022 with 865 miles the error message re-appeared with engine performing sluggishly - turned on hazards drove it into dealership so they can see and try to identify problem. After researching online, several Kia Sorrento's are encountering the same error and transmission failures with less than 2,000 miles. Kia is failing to identify and remedy the issue nationally.

Rear door larch fell off. This is a documented problem with this vehicle. Kia dealerships have been unhelpful to resolve this issue. I feel this is a safety item with a recall on the 2015 models. Latch is made with cheap plastic, and many kia’s have this issue. Thanks, Steve Ritchie

Engine failure at 85,500 miles an hour into a road trip. Just had an oil change on it a few days prior. No warning lights came on before the engine started to rattle at 3000 rpms. Engine still rattles while car is idling.

My vehicle has only 8,672 miles and the vehicle brake rotors are warped and shake violently from normal driving. I seen other complaints online with the same issue saying the vehicle has a undersized brake system that produces a lot of heat. Also I have had a issue where I would be coming to a stop slowly and the brake pedal feels like it grinds or makes a crunch noise, also I have had twice where I get a message on my dashboard saying “check ESC” I’ve called dealer and they told me I can drop off vehicle to get it looked at but if the warning lights or messages don’t stay on then for me to come back when they are on constantly.

Wife and I where driving on the highway when we she pointed out a tapping noise. About twenty minutes later our vehicle lost all power. Dumbfounded because no safety function signaled there was any possibility of over heating or oil pressure I pull off and inspect under the hood. When I pulled the dipstick there was absolutely no oil in it and the oil on the dipstick was burnt. I only have 74,000 miles on the thing and the engines blown. And Kia won't help with anything even knowing this is a major issue.

SERVICE BRAKES
Within the last 6 months the EPB Electronic Parking Brake system engages and will not disengage leaving me stranded 3 separate occassions having to be towed to the dealership twice. Now, the KIA dealer tells me the system needs to be replaced. The dealer originally acknowledged issues with this system and that there is no fix, or recall, at this time. Such a basic function should work on this vehicle without incident and certainly should not fail under 100,000 miles. It is dangerous and can put families at risk when the vehicle locks up and will not move from its spot. Replacement of this sytem is expensive and unreasonable. There are numerous reports that can be found online.

1.engine top end knock worn components , oil consumption , loss of power , dies at idle , it is available for inspection the issue is being inspected by an independent service center. no warning icons were present at failure or prior to failure, all fluids were at operating levels. unit had to be retrieved and towed 90 miles to repair facility. 2. brake lights intermittent bulbs have been replaced multiple times sockets are scorched unit has been to dealer multiple times for this issue without lasting resolution.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
There is a warning message stating "Refill Invertor Coolant" that keeps coming up. The coolant is already full and the car functions normally. However, the warning message can only be cleared for a few seconds before it returns. The message covers up other information on the display such as digital speed and driving warnings such as lane departure. I feel this is an unsafe condition. The dealer I talked to said they are aware of the issue and trying to resolve it on another customer's car. At this time they are unable to resolve the issue.
