I was on the highway with my family, when we started to smell smoke,and the car began to slow down I proceeded to get off the highway to pull over to the side the of the road oil light came on and some more signal came on .so my son told me to open the hood it was dark so I could not find the latch so he bent his head down and that’s when he seen fire he told everyone to get out the car.!,,,and we got away from the car that’s when the whole car blew up.very dramatic night in which I had my grand babies,the fire fighter believes it was electric all,my insurance I missed my payment day..so I had no insurance and I have no car.

Engine lost power. Analysis indicates the catalytic converters failed and need replacement. The engine and catalytic converters were replaced June 2022. This power loss occurred on major interstate, which could have resulted in death or serious injury. Defective products still being used. Per the dealer, the replaced parts have a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles. They know these issues exist and persist, putting lives at risk. We did have an engine light come on a few moments before the engine failed.

I was driving home from work when vehicle downshifted while on the interstate. I continued to drive and tried to accelerate but again the vehicle downshifted. I was able to drive home by not going over 50 miles per hour.

Car excessively burns oil. Within 1,000 miles burned through about 4qts of oil with no type warning light. Refilled with 4 more quarts then burned within 3 weeks of average driving. Vehicle only has 90k miles wirth no sign of oil being burned or oil stains in normal parking area.

Given it's fire risk, am pleading if you can follow up to make sure this problem is rectify before people's lives are affected for "A stitch in time serves nine"

The engine showed signs of overheating and smoke emissions. The vehicle was taken to a authorized Kia dealership where the recall components: KSDS software, and one other out of the three recall components was replaced. The KSDS software failed to activate and the engine overheated several days later, the vehicle was taken to a dealership where the engine recall replacement order was refused and instead was given a cost estimate of $10,000 USD to replace.

Since I purchased my 2013 KIA SORENTO I have had at least 3 recalls. My vehicle AIR BAG LIGHT is still ON. I have been waiting since last year (2023)to get this recall item repaired and the local dealership has informed me that the part is on ORDER but never received( I have the work order from dealership stating that).. My Anti- thief system won't allow my vehicle to start upon demand I have to wait and turn the key over and let panel lights come on before it starts I have to do this 3x always. I've tried different approach's to rectify this issue, still dealing with it today( March 1, 2024). My speed control sensors had too be replaced. ABS lights would come on and stay illuminated. A lot is going on with my KIA SORENTO. I really enjoy my vehicle until all these recalls started. Now, I'm afraid to drive it as much, due too this FIRE RECALL!!!!!! I have documentation of these recalls.

Driving on freeway and car suddenly would no longer accelerate over 40mph. Pulled off the freeway and large amounts of white smoke was coming from the exhaust. Turned off engine, looked under the hood and saw engine coolant bubbling. Attempted to restart car and it would no longer start. The car was towed to a Kia dealership and diagnosed as head bolts backing out of cylinder head causing leak and pressure with coolant and oil mixture. I was told my engine would need to be replaced.

I purchased a my 2017 Sorento, it had 40,000 miles, it had a knock to it when I would first get started in the morning, took it to get check twice, told nothing was wrong, at 59,700 I took back and it needed a new transmission, then at 98,000 it needs another transmission, so after two transmission, plus changed 6 fuel injectors, all new spark plugs, now the engine is gone. I also have a 2014 Sorento that’s still rolling and never needed any major work. This car has been problems since I purchased it. It has to be a recall on this car. Something is not right. It’s sitting in the shop again and I can’t afford to fix it.

My started leaking oil prefusly one day. Started car went down the street 5 mins and came back . My drive way has puddles of oil. Leaking fast . Too it to kwik car they informed me that I have a leak in the turbocharger. It’s leaking into my exhaust. I got the oil added to the car yesterday and today my oil is already low and almost empty.

Brakes feel softer, rear brake burnt smell, replaced brakes one month ago. Headlight and taillight bulbs replaced several times in last 3 months due to blinking blowing replaced and starts over again. Screen will not turn on until car has run for 45 minutes. Cannot use back until screen turns on. Leaving car parked until I can get brake system fixed. Noticed brake light on dash and car with swerve light on dash. Too scared to drive until at least brakes are fixed. Reached out to dealership. No part available for recall which most likely is failing my brakes

My name is [XXX] Owner of KIA SORENTO 2016 V6 At the begging of this year in early January , my automobile starting showing extremely overheating conditions. My wife was taking our kids to school on a cold weather, 15 minutes from home and as she was arriving to the school parking lot she noticed the temperature indicator up to (H) mark, she then notice a loud buzzing sound coming from the engine.She parked the car immediately as she could , shutdown the engine and asked my kids to leave the car immediately . She called me very frightened and worry about my kids safety and hers. She said that she was able to shutdown the engine but the temperature indicator stayed on H mark and the buzzing sound was still on. Then, I remember receiving a latter from Kia Corporate Headquarters, extending the warranty on my car on mid December 2023. The letter states that the warranty has been extended because it's a potential overheating and coolant leaking that it has been related to the cylinder head gasket and head bolts. We reached out to a dealer right after the incident and on [XXX] we took our car for inspection and acknowledge the mechanical problem. All the sings of the fail system of the engine are present in my car. My car has been at the dealer since [XXX] and as of now Kia Corporate has fail to proceed with the approval of the repairs of my car. I have been renting cars all this time and the dealer personal said they can't approve to pay any rental until Kia Corporate Headquarters acknowledge the fail engine. Its absurd that Kia Corporate Headquarters have the knowledge of this dangerous mechanical issues in my car engine but fail to acknowledge repairs. The case it's no longer" to be determine" on their data base, its updated to repair as fallow but yet has not acknowledge that our car has to be fix under their extended warranty and my wife still driving my kids on a rental car .
