I had an ICCU failure. There were no warning lights . The dealership initially could not find the problem but when I brought it back again they did confirm the ICCU failed and replaced it. Failure of this causes the car to stop driving and lose power causing you to stop on the road as well as be unable to charge the car.

I was driving on the freeway steady at 72mph and the car suddenly accelerated on its own. It hit 90 within seconds and I had to step on the break for the car to slow down.

- #11703617December 8, 2025SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STEERING
My 2023 Kia EV6 experienced a sudden ICCU and 12-volt system failure while traveling approximately 50 mph. Without warning, the vehicle instantly lost propulsion and all electrical power. This included loss of steering assist, braking assist, hazard lights, shift capability (unable to shift into Park), and even the ability to lock the doors. The failure effectively “bricked” the vehicle in motion. I was only able to get the vehicle off the roadway because the road happened to slope downward into a nearby lot. Steering required significant physical effort, the brake pedal went completely hard (“dead”), and the vehicle offered no functional parking brake or Park engagement once stopped. Because I was on a hill, we had to allow the car to roll to the bottom until it met a curb to prevent movement. After power loss, the doors could not be locked at all. This type of unrecoverable electrical failure creates an extreme safety hazard for the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic. There is no pre-warning and no diagnostic indicator. The ICCU fuse appears to fail spontaneously and renders the vehicle uncontrollable in several critical respects. This is not an isolated issue. ICCU failures have been occurring across the Kia EV6 and Hyundai Ioniq 5/6 platforms for more than three years, including on brand-new 2025 models. The persistence of this defect across multiple model years indicates that the underlying design or component defect has not been resolved by the manufacturer. Given the suddenness of the failure, the total loss of vehicle control systems, and the long history of similar incidents reported by other owners, I am now hesitant to drive the vehicle due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the defect.

I am reporting suspected odometer fraud and misreported mileage/VIN/title data by Greenway Kia North (Longwood, FL) involving my 2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line (VIN: [XXX] ) and my 2017 Audi Q5 trade-in. These actions appear to violate the Federal Odometer Act (49 U.S.C. § 32705 and 327 and Florida title/odometer laws. After attempts to resolve the matter, I issued a rescission and statutory-demand notice on Nov. 8; the dealer provided no adequate response. Title/Registration Misrepresentation: My Audi Q5 (dark blue) was submitted to FLHSMV as “Monsoon Gray.” The EV6 (Aurora Black Pearl) was submitted as “Blue.” I verbally corrected both errors at signing; the dealer ignored them, and the false data was transmitted to the State and later reported through Carfax. This indicates intentional or reckless submission, not clerical error. Odometer Fraud: The dealer certified 131 miles on the Odometer Disclosure Statement, though I informed them the mileage was higher. Post-purchase evidence shows the certification was false. Documented travel from Dec 29–Jan 4 totals ~546 miles. Charging records (49.2 kWh on Dec 30; 63 kWh on Jan 2) indicate regular use inconsistent with a 131-mile vehicle. On Jan 4, the dashboard displayed 965 miles; Carfax recorded 1,206 miles. If delivery mileage were truly 131, the vehicle would show ~677 miles minimum—yet readings were 965–1,206 miles, proving the EV6 had approximately 413–660 miles at delivery. Willfulness Indicators: I verbally corrected mileage and color errors; the dealer ignored the corrections, submitted false disclosures, and provided only a thumb drive instead of paper contracts, preventing immediate verification. Carfax confirms incorrect DMV data originated from dealer submissions. Requested NHTSA Action: Investigate for violations of the Federal Odometer Act, audit the dealer’s odometer/title practices for a possible pattern, pursue civil/criminal enforcement if warranted, and refer to DOJ as appropriate. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.

Driving down local (residential) roads, the ICCU died; towed to dealership 12/3/2025. All 12 volt electrical was inoperable. So no hazard lights, no shift to neutral, no locking the doors. It was towed to the dealer. ICCU is now being ordered. The Master Warning light and 12V battery warning light illuminated. I was fortunate to be able to park in a parking lot just before all electrical died. An Internet search shows that this is a known issue; and, even after the replacement the situation can happen again. Took delivery 6/28/25. So, not even 6 months old.

In November 2024, my 2022 Kia EV6 became suddenly non-drivable due to electrical failure consistent with a repeat ICCU/12-volt system malfunction. The vehicle would not start or maintain normal electrical power and became stuck in accessory mode, creating a loss of propulsion and complete loss of transportation. This vehicle previously experienced an ICCU failure earlier in 2024 that required dealership repair and battery replacement. After that repair, the vehicle again developed electrical failure symptoms, including loss of 12-volt power and inability to operate. Due to the unsafe non-drivable condition, Kia Roadside Assistance directed and arranged a tow to a Kia dealership. Upon arrival at the dealership, new undercarriage and wheel-well damage was documented within approximately 90 minutes of drop-off. This damage was not present prior to towing and is located where tow equipment attaches. The vehicle remains in the possession of the dealership and is available for full inspection. The electrical failure created a safety risk because the vehicle became immobilized without warning and could not be safely operated. There was no advance notice or driver-caused event. The failure resulted in complete loss of vehicle function. The vehicle has been inspected by a Kia dealership, and I have been working through Kia corporate and roadside providers since the incident. The vehicle remains out of service with unresolved electrical issues and unresolved damage resulting from the manufacturer-directed tow.

- #11700251November 19, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
My 2022 Kia EV6 developed a serious electrical/MCU malfunction on 10/19/2025 at approximately 64,300 miles. While driving, the vehicle began to stutter during acceleration, all driver-assistance and safety systems disabled (LKAS, collision avoidance, lane keeping), and the vehicle could not accelerate normally (topping out around ~60 mph when fully pressing the pedal). The Kia Connect app displayed fault codes MCU P0A4100 and LKAS C164286. The malfunction recurred immediately after a dealer visit on 10/20/2025. The vehicle has since been inspected by Huffines Kia in Corinth, Texas, but no confirmed diagnosis has been provided, nor have they notified me of dropping/reconnecting the HV battery. On 11/18/2025, a new fault code appeared: MCU P0C1700. This failure affects the high-voltage electronics/MCU and causes sudden loss of acceleration capability and complete disabling of active safety systems while the vehicle is in motion, placing me and other drivers at risk. The issue is reproducible, continues to occur, and the vehicle remains at the dealership. I am requesting NHTSA review of this electrical/MCU malfunction as a safety-related defect.

The vehicle can't be changed with a message "issue with electrical system". The message blinks very fast for 3sec and disappears. I have to turn on and off the car a few time to be able to read the message. The the car lost 12V secondary battery, it only shows 5.5V when measured. car is dead.. Replaced with new battery, car can start again but the car still can't be charged. Is it related to ICCU problem? KIA doesn't show any recall to this problem.

The ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit) failed while the vehicle was charging at my home. It tripped the 60A circuit breaker for my EVSE circuit and now my EVSE is inoperable. The vehicle no longer charges via AC (Level 1 or Level 2) at any charging station. Attempting to charge the vehicle triggers a safety fault error on the EVSE indicating an electrical problem with the vehicle. Additionally, attempting to use the V2L (Vehicle to Load) adapter on the vehicle causes audible arcing sounds from the ICCU accompanied by a "Check Electrical System" message on the vehicle's display. These symptoms indicate a complete failure of the OBC (On-Board Charger) circuit inside of the ICCU. The arcing is most likely coming from a failed MOSFET. The ICCU has been recalled twice in this model, however it is clear that the software update "remedies" are not satisfactory. I had the most recent recall campaign SC327 completed during the month it was released in November 2024, yet it still failed only a year later. Reports of ICCU failures are constantly being posted online from "remedied" Kia EV6 vehicles. Software cannot fix a hardware design fault. The part should be redesigned to correct the cause of the defects and, if Kia doesn't want to replace every ICCU with new hardware, the warranty on the ICCU should be extended to unlimited miles and 15 years.

Issue Description: When parking facing downhill, I put the car in reverse but the car rolls forward. Feels like the car is either in drive or neutral. Concern is intermittent, and I confirmed each time it happens, gear selector is in reverse. When trying to re-engage reverse, the display shows "gear already selected." Safety risk: Car almost hit car in front of us while trying to reverse. Car was inspected by dealer service center. Could not duplicate, but found an error code. Dealership found multiple software updates available on the brand new car and installed.

The air bag (SRS) floor wire harness running directly under the moving front driver and passenger seats are assembled with no shielding or protection. So they are subject to being severed or damaged, and the wires are at risk of corrosion if exposed to moisture or road salt. This is clearly a preventable safety issue. However, Kia and Hyundai are not providing warranty coverage. And replacement of a damaged harness is ~$9,300+ because the harness apparently routs behind the dashboard and to the engine compartment.

When I stopped the car in a parking lot, before I could engage the parking brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and climbed over the curb adjacent to the side walk. Stopped for few seconds and again suddently started accelerating. I could not stop the car as the brake appeared to be disenaged completely and was going all the way to the floor. The car went on the side walk, and descended on the road from the side walk and crossed the road, climbed on the curb again and stopped on the grassy area. Side airbag on the driver side inflated and the drive seatbelt tightened.

- #11690621September 30, 2025VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
Prior to midnight on 9/25/2025 I stopped at a Sheetz in Stephen"s City , Va to charge my 2022 Kia EV6. Upon pulling into the charging area I discovered construction fencing around the area with the chargers removed. I then drove to the other side of the store and parked next to the building to take advantage of the lighting as I scanned my phone app for alternative chargers in the area. SUDDENLY, within the blink of an eye, my car lunged forward at MAXIMUM speed. It came to a sudden stop , prior to hitting the glass and brick wall of the building. I was stunned. My first reaction was to try to go into reverse to back away from the building and then I noticed people coming toward me. I rolled the window down and heard them ask if I was ok , if I needed help calling 911, and then they began to insist that I climb down out of the car as they feared it would catch on fire. I did not understand what they meant initially, until I realized I was LOOKING DOWN at them. With assistance, I got out of my car and realized it was impaled upon the metal barrier post located in the middle , front of the parking space. The local sheriff dept responded and after putting me through all the DUI tests/exercises realized that I , indeed , was sober and not responsible for the incident. The deputy called Clem's Garage/Towing who arrived 30-45 min latter with a standard tow truck - I tried to explain that tugging at my car from the rear would not release it from the pole ( the rear of the car pointed toward the pavement while the front pointed toward the sky) and that continuing to tug would only do more damage (I wanted to prevent my car further damage). He eventually called another company who arrived with a large crane-like vehicle that lifted my car off the pole. The top portion of the pole was missing and apparently stuck in my car . My car was then towed to Clem's holding yard.
