The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 MPH and driving over a bump in the road, the steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably. The vehicle had experienced a death wobble. The contact decelerated and regained control of the vehicle, and the shaking of the steering wheel ceased. The contact stated that the failure occurred at 50 MPH or speeds exceeding 50 MPH. There were no warning lights illuminated. The failure became a persistent failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front axle and front-end failure were caused by a defective steering damper. The dealer expressed that there was no remedy for the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and stated parts could not be ordered unless the vehicle was already at the dealer or if the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. I purchased this vehicle new and the second day I drove it when I hit an expansion joint on the highway the steering wheel started to shake back and forth and the car shook badly. I took it back to the dealer, they said that there was a recall for the problem(which I found out is not true) they worked on it and it was fine until recently. I noticed the problem again with the same conditions. I have just over 36,000 miles on the vehicle now. I took it to a Jeep dealer near me since I have moved. The service manager called it a Death Wobble, which seems to be correct. They told me there was no recall, but seems to be a familiar problem with the Jeeps. They installed a new steering damper, balanced and rotated the tires, and checked the front end alignment. I seldom drive the Jeep, but last month I was going to take a trip and while driving on the interstate at approx. 72mph I crossed an expansion joint and it started to wobble so bad that I crossed into the passing lane. It didn't stop until I slowed down to around 50mph. I immediately turned around and coming back it happened again when I was only going 65mph and it through me into the passing lane again. Had to slow down to about 45mph and pull off the road. I have only put about 130 miles on it since it was fixed. I'm waiting for an appointment for the dealer to get it in and check it out. I got underneath the Jeep and checked to make sure the new part didn't come loose or was leaking oil and it seems fine. I don't understand that if this is such a common knowledge problem with the Jeeps and has been for years from my understanding, why hasn't anything been done to address it?

- Auto stop / start "feature" failed at restarting the engine. - At an intersection, waiting to turn left and for a gap in oncoming traffic, the auto stop feature engaged. Upon an opportunity to proceed, the vehicle did not restart and left me stranded with traffic on coming. Luckily, the approaching vehicle was able to stop - else I would of been t-boned, hitting the passenger side with my wife in the seat. - The only warning was barely noticeable - just to "SHIFT TO PARK" - As a result, I will be purchasing an after market component to override this "feature" I will never be stranded or put in harms way for political reasons again.

This is the second time this jeep stalls out on us. This most recent time we were traveling on the freeway going about 70mph when all the sudden the jeep’s motor shuts off and is unresponsive. We are literally coasting in the middle of nowhere hoping the vehicle has enough momentum to get out of the way. Something was blinking on the dash but i couldnt pay attention to that as I was trying to pull over safely. Jeep did not start back up until 2 hours of of waiting on freeway. There are a ton of recalls for this vehicle and as it sits right now the plug in for EV port is not working at all. It makes a ton a strange noises. And to top it off this is a rental car that shouldnt be on the streets earning revenue. This jeep needs to be appropriately recalled before someone gets injured.

Must coast down to a varying speed, sometimes down to 65-45mph for the wobble to cease. Happened multiple times, pre- and post-warranty.

Water pump failure during cold weather event down to 20F, told by dealership that plastic hose adapter integral to the pump had cracked. Resulted in catastrophic loss of coolant while driving. Coolant reservoir is opaque and pressurized so level could not be verified while hot. Replaced under warranty.

My Jeep has been sitting in a parking lot at Bald Hill Jeep in Warwick, RI since 12/14, because of two issues, a transmission issue, for which parts have been on back order, and for a a safety recall of the battery, for which there is no solution for repair. This is a safety hazard to myself, others and property in general. The battery may catch fire whether it’s on of off. I will not put safety of myself, others, or property, at risk. I want a full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle so that I can buy a vehicle that is safe to drive. Even if they fix the transmission issue, the vehicle is unsafe to drive. I have been without a vehicle due to both issues since 12/14/23. I expect Jeep to pay for a rental vehicle until I get my full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle. Also, I found out about the recall when I went to the dealership after my car engine light went on and my vehicle stalled twice. I only received an official notice of the recall AFTER, as if Jeep is trying to hide the unsafe recall. I scanned the QR code to request a refund, however, there are many technical issues with the form that will not allow me to proceed with the submission. Another issue is that I have tried to contact Jeep via FCA online email form, such also does not work. It appears they want to avoid being contacted. Since new in December 2023 this vehicle has excessive wander while driving straight. This requires constant correction of the steering wheel just to go straight. Anything less than 100% attention can result in loss of control. The wander is related to excessive free play of the steering wheel which allows approximately 2” in each direction from center before the tires move. Three visits to two Jeep dealers resulted in “functioning normally” diagnosis summaries. This is a safety issue in my opinion and Jeep at least needs a documented procedure for dealerships to measure the steering free play.

Received the FCA recall B9a/NHTSA 23V-787 which states that a defect exists, the High Voltage (HV) battery on the vehicle may fail internally. the root cause is still being investigated and there is no fix at this time. It then states to refrain from recharging these vehicles and not to park them inside of buildings or Structures or near other vehicles. I have followed up with FCA and Jeep Care and have not heard back from them. ITs been several weeks. This should be a lemon and bought back as it can not be used as intended.

"Jeep Death Wobble" - Onset Dec 2022/Jan 2023 Dealership services: - Jan 13 2023 - July 7 2023 - October 26 2023 - December 6 2023 Presented to the dealership with the same wobble for all 4 of these visits to my recollection multiple times a stabilizer bar has been replaced, shocks been replaced, alignment fixed. Issue has again recurred starting January 2, 2024.

On 12/28/2023, my wife was traveling on the highway at normal operating speed when she encountered the front end of our 2022 Jeep Wrangler begin violently shaking. I looked over the jeep to inspecting for any visual cues, but could see none. I thought maybe it was something in the road, so I drove it on the highway, all seemed well until I began to travel over a bridge and I thought the front end of the jeep was going to come apart (literally). I limped the jeep back home and immediately contacted the jeep dealer I bought it from. The dealership said it's a known problem, I was so furious that a product could be sold with a known problem like that. I left it with the dealership to repair and was told there is no grantee this will fix the problem permanently. My wife said she won't drive it any longer for fear that it may happen again. What can I do as a consumer?

My gas gauge read 37 miles till empty and then died in the middle of a main rd. Had to get it towed $320 for the tow and $200 diagnostic fee. Just to find out that the gas gauge is incorrect and not to trust it.
