To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report a serious safety concern involving my Jeep Wagoneer. The vehicle has experienced intermittent stalling issues, creating a hazardous driving situation and leaving me stranded. The vehicle unexpectedly stalled, causing a loss of power and leaving me without reliable transportation. Given the potential safety risks associated with a vehicle stalling while in operation, I am extremely concerned about the possibility of this occurring again, particularly in traffic or at highway speeds. Adding to my frustration, after contacting the dealership for assistance, I was informed that it would be approximately eight days before the vehicle could even be inspected. A delay of this length for a vehicle experiencing a potentially dangerous drivability and safety issue is unacceptable and leaves me without confidence in the safety and reliability of the vehicle. I am requesting that this matter be investigated promptly and that appropriate action be taken to address the stalling condition. I also believe this issue warrants review for any potential broader safety concerns affecting other Jeep Wagoneer owners. Please document this complaint and advise me regarding any available assistance, escalation options, or known remedies related to this condition. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

The driver’s side sun visor at the main attach point broke when trying to move it from the stowed position. Prior to this, no looseness or other abnormal condition was known to exist. The plastic elbow which serves as the pivot point separated from the base with the electrical wires remaining attached. This results in the driver’s view directly in front of the vehicle being 80-90% restricted as the visor falls directly in front of the driver’s face. The visor will not stow. One hand must be used to hold the visor up against the headliner. This presents risks to the driver via restricted visibility, distraction and physical limitations. The risk extends as a threat to the safety of passengers and collisions with other motorists, pedestrians and/or property. The dealer will be notified for inspection and repair. Photos and video are available. One year earlier the same thing happened on the passenger’s side of the same vehicle. It was replaced by the dealer.

While driving, vehicle suddenly displayed low voltage and "power saving mode" error messages. Multiple systems shut down including AC and radio. With engine stop/start disabled, engine died while slowing to a stop, automatically engaged parking brake, and vehicle shut down. Was able to restart and limp home. Vehicle would not re-start after shutdown. Battery was completely discharged (<9V) and still hot to the touch 4 hours after turned off. Battery tested good, but was replaced out of caution. Current static battery voltage 12.3V. Charging voltage while running 13.4V. Voltage while running with heavy electrical load (AC, radio, heated seats, headlights on) 12.9V. Believe this to be related to known issues with eTorque generator

I have taken my vehicle in several times to get it checked out regarding an issue i have been having since the beginning of the year. I have a severe, recurring engine-stalling safety defect. The vehicle has been in the shop in Boerne texas several times. The engine completly dies, requiring a full manual key/button cycle to restart in/out of traffic. It cuts the power steering and forces the vehicle into park, these are safety issues since at times i sit in traffic for two hours or when i have my newborn grandson traveling with me when i have to travel out of city.

Our vehicle was purchased in December of 2025. Aprox. One month after purchase the vehicle unexpectedly turns off while driving. Fails to start. Along with multiple other issues. Its has been in the shop over the course of that time more than four months and is in the shop current day 14sept2026. We have spend roughly $10,000 to date and continue to be financially and emotionally ravaged. Sealants has been no help. The purchasing dealership also refuses to make it right.

The engine cooling system failed while my husband and I were driving on the freeway at night: the thermostat stuck closed and cut off coolant flow to the engine, causing it to overheat and become unsafe to continue driving. This occurred at approximately 10:00 PM on XXX roughly two hours from home over a holiday weekend, with two occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed, but it took nearly four hours to get a tow truck, leaving us stranded on the freeway at night; because we were stranded so far from home, my [XXX] father had to drive two hours to reach us at 10:00 PM and then drive us two hours home, arriving around 1:00 AM, which put an elderly driver on the road late at night and created further risk. There was first a low oil pressure code and the engine was revving without the gas being pressed. Then that code went away and the engine overheating code came on along with an occasional battery code. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired by Bud's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram between XXX and XXX the dealership confirmed the stuck thermostat and coolant cut-off and replaced the thermostat. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. No manufacturer, police, or insurance inspection has taken place to date. Mileage at time of failure: approximately 78,000. VIN: [XXX]. Within less than 24 hours of picking the vehicle up from the thermostat repair on XXX6, it began shutting off on its own and losing engine RPM, including while being driven on the freeway and while stopped at a red light. It shut off completely on its own two times in the first 24 hours back in my possession, with no warning that the vehicle was about to lose power. Losing power on the freeway risks a sudden loss of motive power at highway speed and a high-speed collision, and shutting off at a red light risks being unable to move out of an intersection or accelerate away from a hazard, with a heightened risk of being struck. During these failures the vehicle displayed a battery warning code and, separately, a "service transmission" warning; both appeared and then cleared. These symptoms first appeared on XXX, within hours of the vehicle being returned from the prior repair. The failures have not yet been reproduced by a service center; the vehicle is scheduled to return to the place of purchase, Grogans Town Dodge Jeep Ram on XXX for diagnosis, and the same vehicle was in this dealership's service department of another dealership 2 hours from our home because thats where we were when the thermomstat issue occured on XXX for the separate cooling-system failure. The vehicle is available for inspection on request. Mileage: approximately 78,000. VIN: [XXX]. (For context only: I have since learned that 2024 Jeep Wagoneers have been reported to have a battery/electrical drain issue that can cause the vehicle to shut off.) Stopped veheicle at construction stop light diverting heavy traffic to one lane. Was first in line at the light and when light turned green I started thru the one lane( total length was probably 3/10 of a mile) with a couple of hundred yeards to go my engine stopped running and I was able to just barely reach the end of the one lane and pull over where the mile of traffic built up behind me could pass. Called wrecker and got towed to nearest Jeep dealer and was told the fuel pump had gone out. Been decades since I had a fuel pump go out in a car. Just glad I was not in heavy [XXX] traffic. That would have been dangerous. Repair invoice says that I reported "engine light came and lost oil preasure". Neither of those alerts came on. The eengine just stopped out of the blue. Otherwise, I am very happy with the ride, comfort and performance of this Wagoneer. Thought someone should know about this event. - #11763446September 10, 2026STRUCTURE:INTERIOR PANELS:SUN VISOR
On Monday, August 24th around 7:30am my wife was driving South in our Jeep and had just entered onto the freeway. There was heavy traffic and the early morning sunlight was impairing her vision. To remedy the sunlight issue, she pulled the visor from the plastic dock/restraint and while folding the visor down she proceeded to rotate the visor to a position to shield the light. During the folding and rotating motion, the attachment supporting the metal arm that supported the visor broken inside the roof. When my wife let go of the visor, the visor dropped down about 2 inches and "drooped" at a significant angle, swinging freely. It did not completely pull out and separate from the ceiling but was somehow still prevented from being completely removed from its housing. My wife had to grab the broken visor and restrict it from moving/swinging freely so she could see while operating the vehicle in heavy traffic and sunlight issues. I had to reach over from the passenger side of the vehicle to take the visor from her as to help her continue to drive safely. I managed to push the visor arm back into the ceiling then dock the visor. The visor then stayed in position for the rest of the trip but now she had to drive with the sunlight issue for a little while that still posed, in my opinion a safety issue. This same issue happened in 11/2024 but it was on the passenger side. I believe the support mechanism for the visor was built with either defective or substandard/cheap materials that do not meet the standard for the safe operation of the vehicle. I've come understand that my vehicle (or make/model) is not the only one affected by this. I believe this issue poses a safety risk to all vehicles with this part design or materials used in manufacturing/installation.

There were no warning signs. I was at a red light and my car completely shut off and red steering wheel with an exclamation mark showed on my screen. It would not immediately start as I tried to restart the engine. It took a min to restart. It automatically had thrown my emergency brake on. The a/c was also shut down. I started driving again and when I got to the next stop sign it did the same exact thing. I was a few streets over from my home. I only slowed down through the stop signs in order to get home so that my husband could assess it. When he walked up to my car it was making a strange sound, which eventually stopped. I shut my engine off and restarted it but the alert was still there. I had just come off the highway when this happened doing a speed of 65 then slowing to exit. This scared me. I am calling the dealership in the morning in order to have them pick it up and assess the issue.

Vehicle began to randomly shut off at low speed while moving, while stopped and also in park. Has not yet happened at high speeds. All occasions are at speeds of less than 5 mph, no MIL. Took to the dealership, diag of faulted aux battery. Battery replaced. Still very randomly will die in gear, at low to no speed, and also in park on occasion. Dealership update software of the BCM, PCM, and DCM. Returned to us with the same ongoing dying issue, returned to dealership, they did a wheel alignment, obviously didn't fix the dying issue. This vehicle carries my family, this will cause an accident as other traffic avoiding the vehicle has been the only factor in avoiding accident. No codes present. Vehicle is being refused to drive due to the uncertainty of when and where the vehicle will die randomly. This has happened numerous times over the last month, we will not accept the return of this vehicle until this problem is solved. This has so far ONLY HAPPENED AT LOW SPEED. Dealership has put many highway miles on it without replicating issue. It can be easily replicated by merely driving it from one parking spot to another or around a parking lot stopping and starting and traveling at speeds 5mph or less. This will happen at low to no throttle input. Vehicle will immediately start and run after being placed into park and hitting the start button, this is not the auto -start-stop feature working correctly. Dealership states this has only happened while pulling into a working bay at the dealership, unable to replicate results on the highway. It is currently the low speed dying that is the issue, this has been brought to the attention of the service dept on numerous occasions.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving under 5 MPH, the vehicle shut off and was rear-ended by a pickup truck. The vehicle was towed to an undisclosed location. The low battery reserve message was displayed afterwards on two occasions. The contact stated the failure was like the failure listed in NHTSA Action Number: PE24018 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM, ENGINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The Jeep manufacturer was contacted by phone on several occasions, and the contact spoke with a representative. The local dealer associated the failure with the auxiliary battery. The contact was informed that the auxiliary battery needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

- #11761526September 2, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, EXTERIOR LIGHTING
I purchased my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer new in March 2023. The vehicle has experienced multiple electrical/electronic safety-related failures. Beginning around Oct. 2024, the digital instrument cluster intermittently failed to load after startup, leaving me without critical information including vehicle speed and fuel level. I photographed this occurring numerous times and repeatedly reported it to the dealer. The cluster was eventually replaced in April 2026. The vehicle has also unexpectedly shut off more than once while slowing or coming to a stop at a stop sign or traffic light. In July 2026, the entire right-front exterior lighting system failed. The right headlight, daytime/running light, front turn signal and cornering light are all inoperative while the left side operates normally. The dealer replaced the complete right headlamp assembly in Aug. 2026, but this did not correct the problem. All right-front lighting remains inoperative. The odometer is also continuously flashing. The dealer has not determined the cause and says further diagnosis and Stellantis STAR technical assistance are required. As of Sept. 2026, the lighting failure has persisted for more than a month despite a repair attempt. I am concerned about the safety risks from loss of required exterior lighting/turn-signal function, prior loss of instrument-cluster information, and unexpected vehicle shutoffs. I do not know whether these conditions share the same underlying cause.

- #11760754August 30, 2026UNKNOWN OR OTHER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Vehicle Information: 2022 Jeep Wagoneer (5.7L V8 eTorque Mild-Hybrid System)Component Affected: Electrical System / Hybrid Propulsion System Defect: My 2022 Jeep Wagoneer continuously experiences sudden engine stalling and unexpected shutdowns while operating in Auto Start-Stop mode. When the vehicle comes to a complete stop at a red light or intersection, the engine shuts off normally to save fuel. However, when I release the brake pedal to accelerate, the vehicle fails to restart automatically. Instead, the vehicle suffers a total loss of power, drops the transmission directly into Park (P), and abruptly engages the emergency parking brake. This creates an immediate, severe safety hazard as it leaves me completely stranded in active traffic and at busy intersections. To get moving again, I am forced to completely cycle the push-button ignition manually. Additionally, the vehicle regularly fails to remote-start, turning itself off immediately due to the electrical fault. A diagnostic scan reveals DTC P0B42 (Hybrid/EV Battery Voltage Sense "B" Circuit Low). This dangerous stalling pattern directly matches the active federal probe under NHTSA Investigation PE24018 regarding 2022 Jeep Wagoneer 48-volt electrical and power distribution failures.

The vehicle has not started, on 2 separate occasions. It will not start, let you open the door and, the APP won't work. It is just dead. After a period of time, it will start and work fine. Then it won't start again. I have read there are several instances on your web site of this type of failure. The dealer can't find anything "wrong".

Battery light came on and showed low voltage while driving down the highway along with a loud sound. Also the icon with a red A and a circle around it came on, the lights and icons starting signaling. The steering wheel instantly became difficult to turn and control. I started to pull off the road the best I could and the parking break engaged before I could come to a complete stop. I wasn’t even off the road before the vehicle came to a stop.

On multiple occasions, when starting the vehicle, the screen on the dashboard remains with the power button and instructions to depress the brake and push button to start. The car starts, but no gauges appear on the dashboard. Turning the car off and back on does not resolve the issue. The car is on and running and will let me shift into gear and drive the car, as demonstrated in multiple videos. Driving the car while a message on how to start the car is concerning as I cannot see/view the speedometer or any other gauges. Additionally, the indicator that the driver’s door is open is on when the door is shut. Turning the vehicle off, exiting and locking does not resolve the issue and the screen remains illuminated with the same message. These issues have been reported to the dealer and each time I have been told they cannot reproduce the issue-most recently in May 2026 when the vehicle was inspected, even when showing them photos and videos.
