While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe experienced a sudden and complete loss of power without warning. This created a dangerous situation with risk of collision. The vehicle is also subject to an active recall related to high-voltage battery fire risk, which prevents safe charging and normal hybrid operation. Additionally, at approximately 12,000 miles, the vehicle developed a transmission pump failure requiring repair. Due to these combined issues, I do not feel the vehicle is safe to operate, particularly when transporting my children. This incident represents a serious safety concern involving loss of propulsion at highway speeds.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V576000 (Electrical System). The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and turned off in the driveway, she heard popping noises and saw smoke coming from underneath the vehicle near the rear passenger seat. The contact called the fire department, which responded and extinguished the fire. The firefighters cut the battery lines, removed the battery, and pushed the vehicle away from the contact's home. A hazmat team arrived and sprayed water on the battery for three hours. A fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the manufacturer's investigation unit inspected the vehicle and determined that the failure was related to the battery. The contact was informed that the battery failure was covered under warranty, which was extended. The insurance company was notified of the failure, but informed the contact that the battery was not covered by the policy. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced a loss of drive power four to six months before the failure, which she related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V576000 (Electrical System). The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and two cases were filed. The manufacturer issued a letter instructing the dealer to repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

The right PTU has failed out of nowhere causing a very loud pop and then grinding when driven. The vehicle was inspected by the jeep dealership last week to find that that was the issue. There was no warning or symptoms prior to the problem. The safety risk is evident in that it could cause an accident, the vehicle to stop completely, not Transmitting power and or not going into park. All without warning. The replacement is very costly

During a cross country trip we exited the highway and noticed a grinding sound from our new 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We then limped to a near-by Jeep dealer who diagnosed a bad transmission. We feel very lucky this did not occur on the highway as a crash may have occurred due to the manufacturer defect. The transmission has been replaced after a delay of 35 days. The mileage at the time of the incident was 3,135.

Vehicle: 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD Purchase Date: [XXX] Mileage at Purchase: ~54,900 miles Dealer: Cherry Hill Jeep Chrysler Dodge, Cherry Hill, NJ I am filing this complaint because I am currently being required to drive a vehicle with a severe wheel misalignment that is visually observable, while the selling dealership has deemed it 'drivable' and has not completed the necessary repairs. On [XXX], I was involved in an accident in which I struck a curb after sliding on black ice. The damage included a bent lower control arm and a cracked subframe. I brought the vehicle to Cherry Hill Jeep Chrysler Dodge for repairs, which took approximately three weeks. I took delivery of the repaired vehicle on March 13, 2026. Upon taking delivery, I immediately noticed a severe misalignment. The wheel misalignment is so pronounced it is visually apparent while driving. I returned the vehicle to the dealership and they acknowledged the alignment issue. They have since told me there are additional parts needed to complete the repair, and that those parts have not yet arrived. As of today, April 10, 2026, the dealership has confirmed they still do not know when the parts will arrive. Despite the unresolved alignment issue, the dealership has deemed the vehicle 'drivable' and I have been left with no choice but to continue driving it. My daily commute is approximately 60 miles per day, 6 days per week. I have driven hundreds of miles in this condition. Driving a vehicle with severe wheel misalignment poses serious safety risks, including unpredictable handling, accelerated and uneven tire wear leading to potential tire failure, and reduced ability to maintain control in emergency situations — particularly concerning given that this vehicle's incident originated on icy roads. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate the dealership's decision to return this vehicle to me in an unsafe condition and require me to continue operating it without a timeline INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA)

Vehicle battery(s) consistently fail. Batteries have already been replaced once but they persist to fail especially if the vehicle sits for 1-2 days. This causes the vehicle to either not start at all, or starts, but then fails when you attempt to restart, once at your destination, leaving you stranded. No warnings. This was reported to the dealer when it originally occurred. Apparently there is a wide spread issue with this year vehicle due to a parasitic drain on the batteries from the vehicles electronics. Original issue was 01/01/2026 and again on 04/09/2026.

Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78C), which Stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted Stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor customer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that Stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.

I am reporting a safety-related problem involving a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, VIN [XXX] . Dealership records reflect hybrid / charging-related failure, including a documented “service hybrid system message and vehicle will not charge,” repeated recall-related PHEV / high-voltage service, and later jerking during acceleration and deceleration with stored transmission-related fault code P0734. The records also document a passenger front door condition where the door would not open from the interior or exterior. These issues raise concerns relating to vehicle operation, electrical / hybrid system reliability, and occupant egress. The vehicle has required repeated service and caused loss of use. Subject: Vehicle Fire Following ABS Recall Repair – Safety Complaint I am filing a safety complaint regarding a vehicle fire that occurred shortly after a recall repair was performed. Vehicle: Jeep (Grand Cherokee/2019) Mileage at time of incident: Approximate: 58,350 Approximately four weeks ago, my vehicle underwent a recall repair related to the ABS system at Westgate Jeep located in Raleigh, NC 27617. Following that repair, I experienced brake issues due to air in the brake lines, which required a return visit to the same service provider for correction. On April 5, 2026, the vehicle caught fire while parked in my driveway. The fire originated in the front driver-side engine compartment area, where the ABS and brake components are located. The fire caused extensive damage to the engine bay, wiring, and surrounding components, rendering the vehicle inoperable. Given the timing and location of the fire, I am concerned that the recall repair or subsequent brake system work was performed improperly leading to either a brake fluid leak or an electrical malfunction or defective parts that caused the fire. This incident presents a serious safety risk, as it could have resulted in injury or loss of life. I am requesting a full investigation into: - The quality and safety of the recall repair performed - Whether improper installation, damaged components, or fluid leaks contributed to the fire - Whether other vehicles repaired under this recall may be at similar risk The vehicle has not been altered or repaired since the fire and is available for inspection. Supporting documentation (repair invoices, photos, etc.) can be provided upon request. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed urgently to prevent potential harm to other drivers.

I am reporting a systemic safety failure involving a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee sold as a "Certified Pre-Owned" (CPO) vehicle. Despite the mandatory 125-point CPO safety inspection, the vehicle was delivered with multiple safety-critical defects that should have prevented certification. Primary Safety Risks: Suspension/Stability: The vehicle exhibits vibration and instability at all speeds, resulting in a loss of steering stability and difficulty maintaining lane position at highway speed. Tire Integrity: The vehicle was sold with dry-rotted tires, indicating structural degradation that poses a high risk of catastrophic failure/blowout. Electrical/Powertrain: The Auto Start/Stop system is faulty. Additionally, the paddle shifters are non-functional, which interferes with manual gear selection and driver control over the powertrain. The selling dealership has refused to acknowledge these defects or bring the vehicle into compliance with manufacturer safety standards. Furthermore, Stellantis Corporate has failed to provide a safety compliance review. These mechanical and electrical defects existed at the time of sale and represent a failure of the CPO safety process.
