ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Check engine light came on, poor idling and start up. Infiniti replaced pvc hose that was cracked, electical seat warmer issue was fixed, dvd electrical issue was denied under the claim warranty, and some sensors were replaced due to codes of lean fuel, and the technician noticed a ticking noise. The dealership told us to pick the car up, drive it and put more miles on it and bring it back in to file another claim for the ticking sound. Returned to file new claim and was told the engine needed to be replaced or timing chain should be replaced due to sludge in the engine even with proper maintenance [records submitted to dealership for warranty claim which was denied]. Passanger seat warmer had also gone out since our last visit, so they're fixing that electrical issue as well. [We were denied for driver side electical window repairs, as they said components were "only loose"]. We purchased the Elite Protection Plan that should have covered all issues but they are denying the claim. Main concern is the engine as there are multiple forums and social media groups that are complaining of the engine sludge issue on new or certified Infiniti or Nissan vehicles with the same engines. Most owners are providing service/maintenance records and still being denied engine repair or replacement under warranty. These engines need to be recalled and consumers need to be compensated for their time and repairs.

POWER TRAIN
Transmission has a shudder between 15-20 MPH around 1000-1500 RPM. Mainly happens in STD mode, other modes run at higher RPMs but does still happen on occasion.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, SUSPENSION, WHEELS
The electric controlled coupling failed and as a result, the AWD failed. There is vibration when turning and driving 25 mph. The grinding noise remained after I got new brakes and I was told it’s from the coupling trying to power the AWD. I took my 2016 QX60 to the dealer and also to a foreign car auto shop and they both confirmed it needs to be replaced. When the coupling is unplugged, the noise is not present.

TIRES
255/50R20- I have done every service at the dealership except one (last one). I was told all 4 tires were worn out and they refused to rotate tires, took it to another place and was told the same. Vehicle has 27,000 and both places told me it was very unsusual. Called dealership and they directed me to bridgestone which refused to help as well claiming tires from manufacturer have no warranty. Makes no sense!

AIR BAGS
The contact owns a 2016 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while making a left turn at a low rate of speed, another vehicle attempted to drive around the contact's vehicle. As the vehicle attempted to drive around, the contact was hit by the passing vehicle. The contact stated that they could not recall the immediate events after the accident; however, they did note the side air bags did deploy while drive side air bag did not deploy. A police report was filed at the scene; however, the police report was not available due to an ongoing investigation. The contact, the contact's mother, and the contact's son and daughter were all taken to the hospital for a check-up; the contact suffered emotional distress due to the accident but no physical injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in the mechanic's possession. The dealer was notified of the failure and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V244000(Air Bags) which was linked to the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
In moderate to heavy rain, the windshield wiper pushes water onto the drivers side window. This water then streaks diagonally down across the window, blurring the view through the drivers side mirror. I experienced this in two cars, once on the test drive on [XXX] in Dublin, and once driving through the [XXX] in rainy conditions. Rain is when you need visibility to be good. The QX60, and possibly many other Infiniti models has a serious flaw in the Apple Car Play and Android Auto features. This affects my model year of 2022 but I understand from other owners it is like still an issue on model year 2023 and 2024 and likely others. The issue is there are not adequate volume adjustments for paired phones with Apple Car Play and Android Auto. If you adjust the paired audio on the car's infotainment system for a phone call, then the next call that comes in will sound a deafining ringer volume. If you turn down the volume for a normal ringer volume then the audio volume on the call is so low you can't have a conversation. This may seem like a non issue, however, when a call comes in and the volume is at its previous level for a phone call, it is so startling it causes all passengers to jump and hold their ears. At least a half a dozen times this has startled me to the point where I inadvertanlty swerved across my lane bounder quickly trying to find the volume control to adjust the ringer down or answer the call. I have spoke to Infiniti dealers and their engineering support. They unfortunatley are denying an issue exist when it is very obvious. All other cars I have owned with Apple Car Play have not acted this way. In addition, many owners on the forums are documenting similar issues and similar reactions of inadvertanly braking or swerving. I hope someone in the NTSB will test this in an Infiniti to understand how serious the issue is

On [XXX] took the car into the Infiniti dealership for the routine oil change with potential issue with timing chain noise on cold startup. The dealership explained that the warranty will not cover drivetrain. After the oil change and driving the car back home, the “check engine” light came on. I contacted infiniti regarding the drivetrain problems that consumers are seeing with this engine and CVT. The chain noise I hear and the video I shared during our appointment. Many are reporting the timing chain noise, sludge and CVT problems, starting at 85k miles. I wasn’t happy with Infiniti response on life of a drivetrain. Why would anyone pay $60k on a car if you its design to run only 100k miles, I would have purchased a $20k car instead. In fact, I have a Acura RDX with 200k miles with no drivetrain issues. Hello Dennis, Per our conversation regarding the powertrain warranty and my concern regarding industrial standard of a premium luxury vehicle design and life. I don’t agree with Infiniti position that at 135K miles is a full life of an engine and the problems with powertrain ( P0017 and 17F1CVT) is a common issue. No other vehicle will have engine failure and transmission failure at 135K miles. I have other vehicle that drive beyond 250K miles ( (Nissan Maxima and Acura RDX at 200k miles), that had routine maintenance and repair, but never engine or transmission problem. I perform regular maintenance on all my cars since age 16. It’s a shame that a high end vehicle customer has to face these major repair. I believe the 2017 infinti Qx60 with CVT is a faulty design. It is a design related issue, which Infiniti should recall and correct. Many of the Infiniti consumer forums that I have read on this subject, suggest a similar performance and potential disaster at 90-120K miles. POWER TRAIN
The whole vehicle experiences strong vibrations when accelerating to 30 miles per hour and higher. It also gives strong judder or kicks when turning. Hard to control the vehicle at high speeds. No warning light is on. Took the vehicle to a local dealer (Houston Southwest Infiniti) and found that the problem was caused by a defective rear differential coupler.

The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving approximately 20-25 MPH, the steering wheel locked on six occasions while driving straight or while turning. There was a green EPS warning light that turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a claim. The manufacturer scheduled an appointment for an inspection of the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 38,400.

POWER TRAIN
2016 Infiniti QX60 93,000 miles The battery light was on. I have noticed that my CVT transmission goes into limp mode. This has happened several times with no help from infiniti. I can only go 10MPH and it revs only 1000 RPM, then it'll be fine after I turn off and on again. Had battery and alternator checked and they're 100% good. This is very dangerous when it happenes in traffic and infiniti won't do anything.

Car is slipping and have had CV joints checked, fluids replaced. Was told it was the differential coupling. Looked it up and many, many others are having the same issue. This is a safety concern because the transmission is slipping on these cars when they get to 50,000+ miles.

SUSPENSION, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, the front passenger’s side wheel detached from the axle and was lodged inside the wheel well. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a parking lot and then had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the rear coupler and the front passenger side tire needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that while driving off the dealer lot the vehicle was hesitating and jerking into gear and was bouncing. The contact stopped and turned the vehicle off and observed smoke coming from under the hood. The contact was informed by the dealer that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The contact had the vehicle towed from the dealer to the residence. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 99,536.

The car intermittently will not accelerate after being idle at stop signs etc. this has occurred on 3-5 instances in the last 4 months. All but one time when getting the vehicle later it didn't have any issues. The battery has been tested and is good, I cleaned the terminals and still had it occur. Upon reading an Infiniti forum it sounds like it is an intermittent alternator issue or electric module. This put my daughter in a stalled vehicle in an intersection several times after trying to troubleshoot issues to resolve it.

Vehicle has a CVT transmission and it failed around 87,000 miles. Both catalytic converters had to be replaced at this same time. When using assisted cruise control, the vehicle slams on the brake causing all passengers to jolt forward and vehicles behind to have to swerve not to hit me from behind. False automatic braking when passing a large vehicle. Engine constantly having issues and codes causing poor acceleration and jerking at low speeds. MAF sensor has failed twice in 5 months. Overall worst manufactured vehicle and very unsafe for driver and citizens.
