- #11759843August 26, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
The liftgate is not merely a matter of inconvenience. Its repeated failure directly interferes with my ability to enter, exit, and safely use the vehicle. I am concerned that the liftgate could also fail during an emergency or close, latch, or operate unpredictably. Right after we first bought the vehicle, we brought it in due to the hatch not opening, approx. Aug. 2024. They said to shove a screwdriver into the hatch to get it working again. It's also listed in their vehicle booklet that is given to you when you buy the SUV. That doesn't mean there is a recall but it's pretty darn close. They want me to wiggle into the back of the vehicle and jam a screwdriver into who knows where. I would love to see them do this without upper body strength and non-working legs. The vehicle has also experienced additional problems, including malfunctioning alarms, electrical issues, and other recurring defects. I have something called vehicle assist, it doesn't work. Alarms are supposed to go off if you leave your lane and pull you back into your original lane. No, you drift accross three lanes. Some problems have returned after attempted repairs. The vehicle has reportedly been presented for repair approximately three times and has been unavailable or out of service for an extraordinary amount of time, approximately 300 plus days in total. Today my caretaker was to take me to a VA and to the pharmacy to get my meds.

On August 8, 2026 at around 10:18am, while driving at a speed of approximately 40mph, my sunroof spontaneously exploded outwards without any external impact. The tempered glass suffered a sudden structural failure and burst outward while driving, without any external rock strike or road debris collision. I have photographic evidence showing the glass coned upward and outward confirming severe pressure or manufacturing anomaly. The glass debris flew to other lanes. Witnesses who checked on us after we stopped stated they saw the external explosion outward as well as the glass debris flying on other lanes.

On August 10, 2026, my 2024 INFINITI QX60 unexpectedly locked while the Intelligent Key was still inside the vehicle, trapping my two young children inside on a hot day. The Intelligent Key was inside my purse on the front passenger seat. The purse also contained my phone, house keys, and another vehicle key fob. There were no large metallic objects in the purse. I was closing the passenger-side rear door when I heard the vehicle lock. My hand may have contacted the exterior rear-door handle/lock sensor while closing the door, but I cannot be certain. I did not intentionally lock the vehicle. Because two young children were trapped inside in hot weather, a friend called 911. Firefighters responded and opened the vehicle. After returning home, we attempted to reproduce the incident, but the vehicle correctly prevented us from locking it with the Intelligent Key inside. Therefore, I am concerned about a possible intermittent failure of the Intelligent Key detection/lockout protection system. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by an INFINITI dealer. I have reported the incident to INFINITI Consumer Affairs and plan to have the vehicle inspected by an authorized INFINITI dealer. There were no warning lights or warning messages before the incident that I am aware of. The vehicle is available for inspection. This incident created a serious safety risk because two young children were trapped inside a locked vehicle in hot weather and emergency intervention by the fire department was required.

- #11755643August 8, 2026Tether, Lower Anchor (on car seat or vehicle)
While uninstalling a Chicco Fit360 ClearTex rotating convertible car seat, we discovered that the load-bearing webbing connecting the car seat base to a lower-anchor connector had completely separated. The car seat had not been involved in any crash or impact, and nothing struck or contacted the seat during removal. The separation was not visible during normal use. The seat had become loose, but we did not know that the lower-anchor webbing itself had failed. Because this webbing secured the base to the vehicle’s lower anchor, the failure severely compromised the installation while our child had been riding in the seat. In a collision, the restraint might not have remained secured to the vehicle. The car seat has been removed from use. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurer, or another party. The seat, separated webbing, photographs, and video have been preserved and are available for inspection upon request. We purchased two identical seats and are concerned that other units may experience the same safety-critical failure. We request investigation as a potential safety defect.

Wireless phone charging pad overheats phone to the point the phone turns off. Concern for possible fire hazard due to how hot the phone gets. In July 2026 the dealer was advised of issue. Dealer referred me to Infinity Consumer Affairs who said they consulted with their engineers and there is nothing they can do about this known issue.

Pulling onto 55mph road from a stop, the car began to accelerate then lagged(felt like a pause/stall in acceleration) and then overcompensated with rapid acceleration. This has happened multiple times. The vehicle has also gotten stuck in a low gear when accelerating in auto mode. Took the car to the dealership expressing safety concern of unreliable acceleration and they couldn’t replicate the issue.

- #11750059July 13, 2026VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD
The vehicle exhibits active optical manufacturing defects causing continuous visual distortion across the front windshield. The distortion warps horizontal and vertical straight lines while driving. This visual warping severely impacts depth perception, causes eye strain, and induces motion sickness, resulting in physical disorientation during vehicle operation.

This vehicle has been to the dealership five times for the car alarm will randomly go off. This issue is hard to replicate. In the final time that I took it to the dealer, I had a rental car and what we found is that when the car is parked and it’s locked and you pull in next to it. The car alarm will go off the car was never touched. It just goes off. does it go off in that situation every single time no. So it’s at the point where if the alarm goes off, it doesn’t mean anything to me. There is no concern. It’s like the boy who cried wolf this car just the alarm will just go off anytime it’s locked and in a parking lot or just sitting by itself I have asked Infinity corporate to get involved and they said that they have done everything to help and they are unable to fix the problem

The car locked with the keys inside. This has happened multiple times. My young children were strapped into their car seats outside in the summer heat when the door locked with the keys inside. We had to have firemen/police come help. Thankfully we were able to locate the second set of keys within 15 minutes and the children were wet from swimming and stayed cool because we were parked in the shade and the sun was setting.

- #11724412March 15, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE
After going through a touchless car wash with undercarriage spray and clean, the vehicle stalled 5-10 minutes later. This occurred after the wash was completed and driving away. Suddenly the engine began to lose power, stumbled, and then died while driving. If I had to guess this was a sensor or some electrical component that may have been affected by the water spray from underneath. There were no check engine or other warning lights when this occurred. Attempted to restart the engine. After a few seconds longer than normal it started and appeared to run fine. Drove it home afterward. If the water caused the issue there are serious implications for driving in rain, through puddles, or snow as that water can migrate up into the engine compartment during driving (would be especially dangerous at highway speeds). If it makes any difference, the vehicle did idle fine for a few minutes after leaving and stopping outside the touchless car wash. Only after a walkaround, removing trash from the vehicle, and then driving away did the stall occur.

- #11723735March 11, 2026ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
On February 27th, 2026, around 2:00 PM, while driving my 2024 Infinity QX60 on Hwy. 459 in Birmingham, AL, at approximately 70 mph in heavy traffic, the engine suddenly shut down completely and shifted into neutral without any prior warning lights, noises, or symptoms. I had great difficulty figuring out what had happened, and struggled to avoid being hit while crossing over three lanes to coast to the shoulder. I attempted to put the car back into drive without success and was absolutely terrified as I barely missed being hit by an 18-wheeler traveling behind me at a high rate of speed. The car was shuddering, but I managed to drive a short distance to the Birmingham Nissan dealer. After an inspection, they stated it was due to an improperly installed air filter that interfered with the MAF, and I was told I had to pay $1,000 for repairs. The Forward Collision warning sensor went out after the MAF was repaired, but the car was released to us. We had to take it right back to the dealer and leave it again.

- #11715746February 5, 2026UNKNOWN OR OTHER
On February 28, 2025, at approximately 8:43 a.m., while driving on Highway 3 in Alvin, TX, the panoramic sunroof glass on my vehicle suddenly and violently exploded/shattered without any warning. At the time of the incident, no other vehicles were around me, and there was no impact from debris, rocks, or any external object. Thank god my kids had just been dropped off at school or this would be a whole different situation. The explosion was extremely loud and occurred spontaneously while the vehicle was in motion. My husband was a passenger in the vehicle at the time. The sudden failure created an immediate safety hazard due to the risk of flying glass, distraction, and potential loss of vehicle control. My husband immediately looked around to note if someone threw something or if construction vehicles were around. It was a very slow quiet morning! Nothing was inside the car where the hole in sunroof appeared! There was no prior damage, no weather-related event, and no indication of stress or cracking before the glass failure occurred. After the incident, I researched this issue and discovered multiple reports from other Infiniti QX60 owners describing nearly identical panoramic sunroof glass failures, often referred to as the glass “exploding” or shattering outward while driving, and frequently without any impact or external cause. These reports include vehicles from 2022 and nearby model years, suggesting a recurring and known issue. Although there is currently no recall issued for this defect, the number and consistency of complaints indicate a potential manufacturing, material, or installation defect in the panoramic sunroof glass. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the incident and request that NHTSA investigate this serious safety concern, as spontaneous sunroof glass failure poses a clear risk to vehicle occupants. I am still a week later working with insurance to get this fixed. Costing me money and a vehicle I can’t drive!
