The 2026 Hyundai Tucson faces a significant safety recall (26V047000) concerning its instrument panel, which can fail to display crucial information. Owners should also be aware of service bulletins addressing Bluelink connectivity loss and software update suspensions.

Hyundai has issued Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 26-01-035H, also known as Service Campaign 9C0, to address instances of Bluelink connectivity loss or interruptions in various 2024-2026 models. This bulletin outlines a procedure to inspect and reset the Data Communication Unit (DCU) network…

Hyundai has temporarily halted service campaigns TDF, TDFA, TDFB, and TDFC for 2025-2026 Hyundai Tucson vehicles. This suspension is due to an ongoing investigation into Data Communication Unit (DCU) software upgrade failures, identified as GDS event #1297, which prevents successful updates.
The vehicle was in a significant crash which smashed in the front end and popped both front tires during which the airbags did not deploy. The vehicle is available until the insurance company moves it to salvage. Since the airbag did not deploy my fiance suffered a concussion from hitting the steering wheel. The problem has not been investigated by anyone other than insurance. No warnings of system problems were on prior to the failure to our knowledge.
Suspect faulty TCU or associated software: My 2026 Tucson Hybrid, purchased in February, has an intermittent “Shift-by-Wire (SBW)” fault where the car refuses to shift into gear (e.g., Reverse) and displays “The car is already in the desired gear” warning on dashboard and the Check Engine light comes On. Retrying (turn car off, wait a while and restart) generally resolves the immediate issue and the Check Engine light turns Off. However, I don’t feel safe driving the car until a definitive warranty repair can be done. So, I had it towed to the dealer. The dealer showed me screen shots of their initial scan indicating No DTC codes were found, that they could not duplicate the problem, and I could pick the car up. If the Check Engine light came on there should be a DTC code stored in non-volatile memory, right? I asked the dealer to keep the car and have a technician drive it until they duplicate and fix the problem. They agreed but I have evidence that indicates the car is not being driven. I filed a formal consumer complaint with Hyundai Corporate Customer Care and received a Case Number (43328121) but no other communication in the weeks since.

Back up camera intermittently doesn’t work. Car can have sat in driveway or been driven, either one, and the cameras will randomly not work and then work again for no apparent reason. Green screen saying that camera not available now and check again later, or words to that effect. This is not one incident, has happened many times. Each time I've tried to take it to the dealer it works when I'm there so they can't troubleshoot it. I consider this a major safety issue that needs an official recall and fix from hyundai

The "Consider Taking a Break" alert and chime comes up randomly and is a driving distraction. There is no way to turn off the alert. I feel this is a safety issue since it causes a distraction.
