The driver side window motor failed and window is stuck in the closed position. The front passenger window motor has failed and that window is stuck in the down position. Last, we are unable to open the driver side rear door where my daughter sits from the inside or outside. This is not only frustrating but a major safety issue for occupants in the vehicle.

The doors are not opening. In some instanced both outside and inside the vehicle. The door handles are being pulled, but the door does not open. My wife is having the same issue with her vehicle which is the same make and model, just 1 year older model. This could represent a major danger to the occupants in an emergency if they cannot get into or out of the vehicle. After doing an online search about this manufactures defect, I have discovered that thousands of owners are having the same issue. I have also discovered that this issue was identified in Korea and corrected there. Thank you for contacting Hyundai Customer Care Center. Driving on highway 65miles an hour plus, car started making horrible knocking/banging sound. No lights or indicators had went off. I pulled off highway and car just stopped and died. From full speed. Had I not pulled off the highway or was unable to get over it would have stopped without warning and someone could have hit me. I towed the vehicle straight to Hyundai. They told me it was internal engine failure in the lower bearing system. They recommended a full engine replacement. No warning lights. Car was maintained with ALL suggested maintenance and oil changes. My particular car is not under recall however this issue in the 2013 Hyundai happens too frequently for it to be a coincidence. In a well maintained car.

The back drivers side door will not open. Can not get child out of car in an emergency situation because the door can not be unlocked or opened. This seems to be a problem for other Hyundai Tuscons. There was no warning about this issue. I went to open the door to let my child out and the door could not be opened.

I purchased this vehicle after it had been leased. I purchased it with 48K miles in December 2018. I have maintained the vehicle, per the manufacturer's guidelines. In July 2021,at 69K miles, a high-pitched whirring sound came from engine when gas was applied. The noise did not occur when vehicle is in idle. The noise came suddenly when I was accelerating getting on a highway (on ramp). I took to my trusted mechanic immediately and they haven't been able to diagnose the issue at this time. However, they found busted metal pieces in the pan and have ruled out more common issues, like serpentine belt, timing belts, and exhaust. My mechanic was so far into the engine trying to find the clearly broken part (or parts), that it will be more cost effective to just replace the engine. I contacted my local Hyundai dealership, and they ignored my emails (until this point). A safety concern is that the car could still be driven, even though there was clearly something wrong with the engine. There were no warning lights of any kind in the dash, before or after the engine sound came on. Also, a qualified mechanic could not find/replace the broken part, and Hyundai is ignoring my engine issue requests. I also contacted Hyundai USA and am waiting for a response. The vehicle's engine, if defective, is out of warranty because I am second owner. The second owner warranty only lasts to 60K miles.

On May 17th my engine locked up as I was pulling out of a driveway. Check Oil light came on a split second before the car locked up. It was not even enough time for me to safely turn off the engine. Upon my own inspection there was no oil on my oil stick even though car receives regular maintenance. Car is now at the closest dealership for TOTAL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. Problem was confirmed to be an issue with the bearings. Communication with the dealership has been poor but I believe inspection is available. They have not completed the repair as they are waiting on a back ordered part. I was about 1.5 hours away from home about to head over a very dangerous 2 lane bridge with no shoulder. I think I would have lost it if I broke down on the bridge.

Sometimes the auto hold will turn orange and the button sinks in and freezes there. I cannot release it and it does not operate at all. It has happened twice since I got the one recall fixed, once before the recall. I thought the recall would fox it and the dealership thought so also but it did not solve the issue. Since the dealership has new management I have received no assistance from them. The new management has very poor customer service since the change and are still repairing the damage to my engine they said they caused, but i believe could be something to do with a lawsuit which is why they refuse to speak with me.

The Doors are failing. Eventually, the actuator fails and cables stretch due to use. The door cannot be opened from the inside nor the outside. In an emergency situation where a door needs to be opened from the exterior even when the doors are unlocked, an emergency responder would not be able to access the vehicle. Additionally, if the vehicle had an emergency situation where the occupants of the vehicle needed to disembark the vehicle, the vehicle doors do not open even though child locks are no engaged. This is a very serious and high risk of concern and issue and must be brought forward for review and resolved as soon as possible. Bringing this vehicle to the dealership for repairs does not always guarantee proper repair. If the actuators are at fault and that is being replaced with the same Original Equipment Manufacture parts, this is going to be an ongoing issue possibly deadly.

We bought our 2017 Tucson with about 40000 miles in 2019. We have had some issues that are to be covered by the warranty. The last was the engine going. I was extremely religious about regular maintenance and always took it to the dealership to have the oil changed and other work every 3000. 2 of the last 4 oil changes cost me over $400 and $600 due to what I thought was work required to maintain the warranty, finding out later that this was false and the service people lied. In the last 4 oil changed I reported excessive oil consumption, 1 qt per 1000 miles at least. They told me this was normal and to be expected. I was 4 hours in to a 8 hour drive when the engine failed. I had checked and filled the oil before I left, in 4 hours it consumed over 3qts. It took me at least a month of dealing with the warranty company to cover as we had a lifetime powertrain warranty. They were not going to cover it due to lack of lubricant. As I told them the engine was failing before this incident. The dealer did not record my requests to find the oil consumption problem. It has now been 4 months, still making car payments and waiting for them to put a used engine in it. We were not offered a choice of whether used or rebuild. This is a known problem and have found class action suits for similar vehicles but for whatever reason earlier and later models are included, same engine and same problem as those part of the class action.

Purchased a new 2022 SUV Tucson on 5/22/21. While driving on a busy street 6/7/21 during work traffic the vehicle just cut off without warning. With horns blaring I managed to coast to the right blocking traffic leaving one lane open for moving traffic. Vehicle after a couple of tries would start but would not move when gear was placed in Drive or Reverse. Hyundai Roadside Assistance notified vehicle towed to closest Hyundai Dealership. This was dangerous vehicles were almost running into the back of my SUV while abruptly stopping. I exited the vehicle while waiting for the tow truck in fear of vehicle being hit placing myself and others at risk of an accident. Informed by Asst. Service Manager at Hyundai Dealership that no one was trained to work on the 2022 TUCSONs at the Dealership. As a Public Safety measure at least some employees at each dealership should be trained to work on all newly released vehicles before they are placed on the market. Notified on June 15, 2021 that the vehicle has a limp mode/ limp node problem. June 16, 2021 I was informed by Hyundai dealership that the 22 TUCSON has a mechanical defect, transmission fluid was leaking which now the Transmission needs to be replaced. The newly purchased vehicle currently has only around 370 miles on it. I thought vehicles go through an inspection before leaving factory and after they reach the dealership before being sold. This I consider to be another safety issue anything can happen during transport. A repurchase/buyback from Hyundai wasn't approved. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Vehicle is ready and will be picked up from the dealership requesting an invoice of the repair work completed for viewing. This vehicle could have caused a catastrophic deadly occurrence

2016 Hyundai Tucson rear passenger door is stuck closed. When door has been unlocked, door cannot be opened either from the inside or the outside of the vehicle using the door handles. The Passenger becomes trapped inside the car and should something happen, they cannot exit the car immediately if needed. Someone on the outside of the car is unable to open the door to assist any passenger trapped inside. A dealer or independent service has not yet reproduced or confirmed the problem and I will be contacting my dealer to have them address the issue. However, after researching this problem, I found numerous posts complaining that this fix is very costly and it is possible that all four doors will experience this same problem soon. At this time, no manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others have inspected the vehicle but based on the numerous complaints online, this issue should already be a recall on these vehicles. The only symptom was that the door did not open once it had been unlocked.
