I have a 2025 Honda Passport with approximately 22,776 miles. Over the past several weeks, the vehicle has developed a progressively worsening starting problem that appears to be heat-related. After the vehicle is driven normally and reaches full operating temperature, then is shut off and allowed to sit for approximately 10 to 30 minutes, the engine will sometimes crank very slowly and sound as though the starter is laboring to turn the engine. The frequency and severity have increased over time. On two recent occasions, the engine barely turned over before starting. After the vehicle sits overnight and cools completely, it starts normally and cranks smoothly. A second related problem occurs when the Auto Idle Stop/Start system is active. Both my wife and I have experienced very slow restarts at stoplights. More recently, the engine failed to restart automatically after Auto Idle Stop shut the engine off. I had to shift the vehicle into Park and press the engine START/STOP button multiple times before the engine finally turned over and restarted. This created a safety concern because the vehicle was temporarily unable to move while stopped in traffic. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Honda dealer for three full working days. The dealer reported that the battery, alternator, starter, charging system, and starting system all tested normal, and no diagnostic trouble codes were present. However, the dealer’s written repair description does not state that the vehicle was road-tested and then allowed to sit through the 10–30 minute hot-soak period that consistently produces the problem. The dealer stated that they allowed the vehicle to idle for an extended period and performed multiple starts, but this did not reproduce the conditions under which the problem occurs. I also opened a case with American Honda. Honda advised that they would not escalate the issue to engineering until the vehicle had been returned to the dealer one or two additional times. The probl

10 speed transmission at times down shifts harshly at low speed coming to a stop. you have to feather the brake pedal to come to a smooth stop without the head jerking. At times can hear and feel the gears downshift coming to a stop and occasional jolt right before the car comes to a complete stop. I've never had to think about braking to a smooth stop ever before this 10 speed transmission. This is coming from a similar Honda SUV with 6 speed transmission (2012 pilot). Resetting the transmission's adaptive learning values did not resolve the issue. I request that Honda investigate this defect, provide a software reprogram, or issue a recall to fix the shift quality.

This is a failure of 2019-2020 Passport Pilot MOST Bus Network Recall of 2021. My Passport was serviced for 23-047 1923 FAKRA Service Cables at MOST Bus Network on October 26, 2023. The system has failed again. The Most system has popping, crackling and then goes out. Takes several minutes to recover. Presents the same safety hazard as the original recall I have video which I will show to the dealer on Thursday September 10, 2026

Re: Case #[XXX] – Outstanding Concerns Case #[XXX] 2026 Honda PASSPORT, VIN: [XXX]. As we discussed, I am requesting that American Honda Motor Co. voluntarily repurchase my 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite. March 9, 2026: During a scheduled oil change, I reported the phone echo and infotainment concerns. The dealership was unable to duplicate the issue at that time. May 27, 2026: Vehicle evaluated for recurring infotainment concerns. The issues were not resolved. June 1, 2026: Vehicle returned for continued infotainment concerns. The issues remained unresolved. June 19, 2026: The dealership replaced the entire infotainment/head unit. Unfortunately, the original defects persisted immediately following the repair. In addition, Honda released an over-the-air (OTA) software update in March 2026. That update also did not resolve the infotainment defects. Since purchasing the vehicle in late October 2025, I have experienced persistent infotainment defects, including a phone echo affecting the receiving party on every outgoing phone call. Since I began formally documenting the issues in March 2026, I have documented 21 infotainment freezes and screen blackout incidents. These issues began shortly after I purchased the vehicle in November 2025 but were not individually documented until March. The multiple issues with my infotainment system screen blacking out while driving is a significant safety concern and prohibits my ability To safely use my car for maps and GPS road conditions in the daily mountain areas I drive safely. Despite my attempt to bring this to Honda corporate on two separate occasions, they are dismissing the case. Honda engineers have admitted as of July 2, 2026 in writing that this is a known issue and they are admitted in writing, there is no fix. My Honda dealer has worked relentlessly to try to help me and Honda corporate customer service has dismissed me. I need help for my significant safety issue! I am experiencing a sudden and total failure of the front windshield-mounted camera sensor on my 2020 Honda Passport. Without warning, the vehicle's dashboard displays a cascade of simultaneous critical system errors as documented in my attachments. When this camera fails, it completely disables the entire Honda Sensing safety suite. The vehicle abruptly loses critical crash-avoidance features, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Keep Assist. Operating the vehicle with a constantly flashing dashboard while suddenly lacking the advertised safety features poses an immediate safety hazard. My local Honda dealership confirmed the front camera component is defective. However, Honda refuses to issue a safety recall or cover the full cost of the repair, offering only a partial "goodwill" assistance gesture that forces me to pay out-of-pocket for an inherently dangerous factory defect. This camera architecture mirrors the exact defect currently being litigated in active California class action lawsuits (e.g., Jones, et al. v. American Honda Motor Co. Inc.) for other Honda models. The Passport should be included in a safety recall immediately.

I own a 2020 Honda Passport Elite with approximately 63,000 miles. The infotainment display intermittently goes completely black while driving. When this occurs, the rearview camera also becomes unavailable. I have also experienced crackling or electrical-type noise through the speakers during the problem. The problem is intermittent. The system may operate normally for an extended period and then suddenly fail. On several occasions, the display went black, returned to normal, and then went black again several times while driving. After the vehicle was stopped and later restarted, the system returned to normal operation. This is a safety concern because the rearview camera can become unavailable, particularly when the vehicle is being operated normally and the driver cannot predict when the failure will occur. Honda Safety Recall 23-047 was previously performed on this vehicle. I contacted American Honda Customer Service, and Honda's records show that the recall repair was completed on June 30, 2023. Honda currently shows no open recall or warranty coverage for this problem. The symptoms I am now experiencing are similar to those associated with the MOST bus/FAKRA connector problem addressed by Honda, including display problems, audio problems and intermittent or blank rearview-camera operation. The vehicle has not yet been diagnosed or repaired for this current occurrence. I am requesting that NHTSA review this complaint to determine whether this may represent a recurring safety-related defect after the previous recall repair and whether further investigation or action by Honda is warranted.

“Idle-Stop” feature stays on per factory installation. However when car is stopped and brake is released to proceed with acceleration, the feature automatically throws the transmission into “Neutral” and will not go forward, allow shifting of gears or shutting down the engine. This has happened numerous times in heavy traffic and creates a hazard. There is a button to depress to shut off the Idle-Stop but it must be done every time the car ignition is shut off then on. This is not a normal habit of long term drivers. After two inspections at the dealer and several phone calls Honda says they can not replicate the problem when serviced thus offering no solution. Searches online for assistance has revealed that this is a highly prevalent problem with Honda and Acura vehicles since 2019. As an elderly (over 75) driver with an excellent driving record it is creating a troublesome risk when driving.

Car began making loud rattling noise which proceeded to a larger grinding noise in the engine. Car sudden wouldn’t accelerate and had to be shut off. It wouldn’t restart and once it did get jumped produced an intensely loud grinding rattling noise. Car had to be towed to Honda which upon diagnosis was found to have metal shards in the oil pan and diagnosis to replace entire engine. Honda is denying recall on this engine though it is very similar engine to what they currently have recalled for their V6 engines in Pilots, Odysseys ect

This has happened several times but today it was dangerous. I was doing around 40mph and there were some changes in the concrete color and my car slammed on the breaks (again) for no reason. I was almost hit. This keeps happening in my vehicle and I am terrified to drive it. Please help get this recalled. I have a child with cancer and I bought this safer vehicle to transport her to the hospital.

I have a 2025 Honda Passport. When the start stop shuts off car it will crank very slow or not start at all and have to wait a few minutes for started to cool. After I did some testing on my own then went to the dealer with an appointment, they confirmed this is a know problem with Honda. They did some testing and assured me that my starter is bad. No light or warnings until it would not restart at the stop light. The dealer pulled information off the cars computer and showed me a graph on how low the voltage goes below the threshold.

On August 14th I brought the vehicle to Coconut Point Honda after having the vehicle stall with the auto stop feature. At that time, I also noticed that the car had trouble starting at times. After being there for four days, I was asked to come pick up the vehicle. Yesterday, on August 27th, the vehicle stalled again, this time at a busy intersection. This narrowly missed causing my wife to get hit at high speeds. The car shifted itself to neutral, the battery and warning light came on, and a message saying “shift into park” appeared on the dash. Despite several attempts, the car would not restart until it finally sat a moment and then powered back on. The car was brought back to Coconut Point Honda where I again voiced the complaint and safety concerns regarding the vehicle stalling out and shifting itself into park.

I am writing to formally request goodwill assistance regarding a significant hardware failure in my 2019 Honda Passport. My vehicle is currently experiencing diagnostic trouble code U3000-49 (Internal Electronic Failure of the Multipurpose Camera Unit), which has completely disabled my Honda Sensing suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Collision Mitigation. While my vehicle has approximately 76,000 miles and is out of the original bumper-to-bumper warranty, I am deeply concerned that this is a premature internal electronic component failure rather than normal wear and tear. Why I Am Reaching Out: Widespread Hardware Defect: The U3000-49 internal circuit board failure is a known, heavily documented issue impacting Honda Sensing-equipped vehicles (such as the closely related Honda Pilot and Odyssey models built on the same architecture). Safety Impact: This failure shuts down primary active safety features that were a core part of why I purchased a Honda. A structural component failure disabling safety features after roughly 7 years of ownership is unreasonable for a brand with Honda's reputation for longevity. Exclusion from Current Actions: I am aware of ongoing class-action litigation regarding these exact front sensor camera failures in Honda vehicles. While my specific vehicle model year/trim configuration is not currently named in the active scope of those specific lawsuits, the mechanical and electronic reality of the part is identical. Replacing this unit and performing the mandatory ADAS static calibration quotes out to over $1,500–$2,000 at local service centers—an extreme financial burden for a manufacturing-related internal circuit board failure. Given my loyalty to the brand and the safety-critical nature of these systems, I am asking Honda to step in and offer goodwill assistance to cover or heavily subsidize the replacement and calibration of this failed multipurpose camera unit. Thank you for your time, considerati

The vehicle's infotainment system displays an OTA software update error message on every startup. Honda dealerships are unable to correct this issue without further intervention and software updates from Honda corporate. Dealer has stated that this issue may interfere with reliable over-the-air software updates, including any potential safety-related updates delivered through this OTA system.

Timing belt tensioner is failing on my 2023 Honda passport. I have read this to be a common problem on many Honda passports enough where a recall would be justified. If it fails the engine will completely implode causing the car to come to a complete stop even on the highway. The problem can be easily be confirmed to be a widespread issue through searching the Internet for the same vehicle. Yes my vehicle may be inspected. No it has not been in any accidents.

I would like to register a formal complaint regarding the front seats in my 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite. The seat ventilation system creates significant discomfort around the tailbone, making it extremely difficult to tolerate drives of any meaningful length. I did not raise this concern sooner because my wife typically drives the vehicle and had accepted the discomfort as “normal.” It is not normal. I recently drove the vehicle to a store only 1.5 miles away, and by the time I arrived, the pressure and discomfort on my tailbone were already difficult to tolerate. This issue is not merely uncomfortable; it is a significant distraction for the driver and, in my opinion, a safety concern. A premium trim vehicle should not create this kind of problem. If anything, it should provide a high level of comfort. I have contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle, but their only proposed solution has been for me to trade it in for another new vehicle, which would leave me at a financial disadvantage. I believe Honda should recognize this as a design flaw and offer affected customers an appropriate remedy, such as replacement seats that resolve the issue or compensation that would allow customers to purchase aftermarket seats that do not have this problem.
