The steering system has failed and also the brake system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The Steering wheel appears to be sticky, so I personally have encountered a few near miss incidents where I end up over turning because I have to use excessive force to turn. The problem has not been confirmed by the dealer or inspected by anyone but myself. Yes, there were warning lights as stated earlier. The brake system light and a few other lights came on after the incident.

Unknown. I arrived to the grocery store and went inside to shop. About 45 minutes later I approached my vehicle and attempted to remote start it. As I approached my vehicle I saw it was on (assuming it was from my remote start). My car wouldn’t unlock. The trunk also wouldn’t unlock. My key fob was not dead as I went back into the grocery store and bought a new battery and replaced it. After that still did not work, I attempted to open my car door with the manual key included in my key fob. The manual key also wouldn’t work. At this point I realized my car was not on due to remote start. My car was actually running the entire time. I was stranded for 5 hours while I had to wait for my fiancé to leave work and travel to the part of town I was on. He was also unsuccessful with using the key. We had to resort to unlocking the door with a wire hanger by sticking it through the door. After we successfully unlocked the door, the car alarm went off and the key was working like nothing ever happened. I also want to mention we went home yo get my spare and the spare wasn’t working. How were all doors locked while the car was completely running. It burned a quarter tank of gas. I just wanted to make this report to note what happened.

A/C doesn't work. Known defect and recall/warranty for compressor and condenser but honda told me is was the evaporator. Entire a/c system bad and they won't cover the last part of the system under warranty.

I was driving on a relatively hot day around 85F and the car AC was working fine but in the course of 30 min the ac started blowing hot air on my face while I was driving on freeway. The temperature was set to 69F but it still kept blowing hot air. After a while it started giving me a headache and I had to turn it off. I got it checked by Honda dealership and there is an Evaporator leak in the car confirming why I got a headache. This is a safety risk to the passengers of the vehicle as high concentrations of the ac refrigerant can leak in the car potential poisoning or making the driver loose consciousness and loose control of the car causing an accident. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership as there is an extended warranty for the condenser due to the high pressures of the newer refrigerant causing holes in condenser and evaporator but there is NO extended warranty for the evaporator which poses a greater risk to the drivers than the condenser since the part is inside of the cabin.

I have a 2022 Civic that I bought almost 2 years ago & I have about 24k miles on it. But recently, I have had a super stiff wheel/audible feedback when steering. It first started about a week or so ago but I've been noticing it a lot more the more I drive. It used to be only at speeds above 50-60 but now it's above 20. Weirdly enough it would only be hard/stiff when steering to the left but now it's both ways. I don't drive it in the "Sport" mode, nor do I have it in lane keep assist. It's incredibly annoying and could be potentially dangerous since it won't correct itself, even my arm gets a little workout just driving it normally. My apartments have a speed bump that's kind of taller than normal, but other than that, I haven't been in a wreck or anything dramatic. I assume it has to be the steering rack & column.

Steering becomes sticky or locked while driving, most often while on a highway. It takes extra force to break the lock and steer the vehicle. Small steering corrections are difficult to make and often becomes hard not to overcorrect once the steering becomes “normal”. Overcorrection could become a severe safety hazard if quick steering changes are required. This is an ongoing issue and not an isolated incident.

The steering is slightly sticky and makes some noises at times. It doesn’t return to place normally and will stay in place where it was last turned to.

2022 Honda Civic. When driving on highway or residential roads even the steering sticks and locks up. Having to put alot of effort into correcting causing an over correction and possible accident. Called Honda and had it towed to the shop. ITS NOT SAFE. This has happened on many occasions, it just gets worse with time. Happened not just 10/18.

Steering rack is faulty. Known issue on thousands of 2016 honda civics. Honda told me my battery dying and the sticky steering wheel is from a faulty steering rack and quoted me $4000 to fix it. This car does not even have 80,000 miles on it and it 7 years old. This issue has caused multiple accidents and I have 2 children. I am scared to drive this vehicle. If this is a known faulty steering rack issue why am I subjected to pay out of pocket?

After numerous statements regarding issues with the A/C units, it appears there’s an additional item that should be added to the list of recall/extended warranty issues for Honda. The evaporator is now an additional item that is an issue amongst numerous consumers. I’ve had an issue with the evaporator and have been charged a hefty amount for labor by the dealership stating this was the issue. I was not allowed to replace my compressor/condenser, which is strange that those work just fine even with a recall, but suddenly an entirely different part was not working that’s not under warranty. I left the dealership extremely frustrated to be sold a car with faulty equipment that is being called out online and Honda does not show any proactive measures.

Car has power steering issue most noticeable at highway speeds, matching the description of the EPS defect on 2018 Civics (NHTSA ID: 18V663000 ) but my VIN was not included in the recall, despite showing the exact same problem. The steering sticks and has resistance to small adjustments, especially trying to go straight in a lane, & snapping side to side or pulling in opposite direction instead of smoothly turning, intensity varies. There is an audible "clicking" or resistance sound when turning. It's getting increasingly worse overtime, and is a safety issue. Matches testimonials of many other owners of 2018 Civics online. Ive had 3 independent engineers diagnose this issue as a power steering rack problem matching the recall - I have documentation from 2 attached below, the 3rd was an in-person recommendation, document was not provided. Honda is the only diagnostic not acknowledging the EPS problem. Please help me get this replaced so I can drive safely. The contact stated after Honda giving the runaround, they did confirm that the power steering rack is faulty and needs to be replaced . However, since the VIN was not included in the recall for the 2018 Honda Civics, they will not offer me any assistance with the $4200 repair.

I have a sticking steering wheel issue. It mostly happens over 50 MPH but has started as low as 25 MPH recently. I haven't driven the car in almost 2 weeks now. When going in a straight line and trying to make small adjustments left or right to stay in the center of the lane, the steering wheel sticks and won't easily move. I have to put more force into making the slight adjustment then I normally would on any other vehicle I've driven and when it becomes unstuck, then you jerk towards the direction you were trying to make a small adjustment. It feels extremely dangerous and happens a lot. This occurs with or without the lane assist on. It happens from 25 MPH to 50 MPH but less frequently but it's still scary when it happens. I called for an appointment on September 22nd, 2023 and took it into the Honda dealership on September 25, 2023 and they experienced the same issue I described and ordered a new EPS system. I have attached the receipt they gave me. There were no warning lights that have appeared or have ever appeared during this issue. They told me that the part would arrive a little over a week. I called back on October 6th asking when the part would arrive. They told me that they changed the order status to critical so the part would arrive faster. I was informed I would be called back on Monday morning. I called back Monday afternoon and was informed that they couldn't give me an estimated arrival time on the part. I was upset and asked for a loaner vehicle because it feels dangerous to drive and they told me they didn't have one to loan. I was then told that a sales person could possibly help, or I could trade it in. I was transferred to a sales person who listened to my issue and then informed me that I could trade in that broken civic for a new car and the EPS issue wouldn't hurt my trade value. I was extremely mad and hung up. They seem more interested in getting me into a new loan rather than fix my current car that I've spent 9000

- #11550060October 15, 2023FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My fuel injectors have failed for the second time today. The first time they failed at 54k miles and the second time they failed at 94k miles. Both times I was on the expressway driving at least 55mph when suddenly the car does not accelerate and I am forced to pull over as my car slows down. This is dangerous when I am on the expressway and suddenly I cannot maintain a safe rate of speed for this kind of road. Honda refused to replace the injectors the first time because I was past my general 36k mile warranty although I was still within my 60k powertrain warranty. Although the manufacturer of the injectors Keihin considers the injectors a powertrain component, Honda does not by definition in their warranty. I am now left with a repair bill of over $500 for the second time for fuel injectors and a fuel rail. Honda needs to be held responsible and ordered to issue a recall for this widespread issue.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Steering wheel sticking at highway speeds when on a curved road or when changing lanes. Might be a loss of power steering. Occurs once or twice in 100 highway miles. Only temporary solution is to jerk the wheel with enough force to unstick it and regain control, which is not safe or ideal. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Loss of control of the vehicle. Departing own lane without intention. Possibility of collision with an adjacent vehicle. Possibility of overcorrection and complete loss of control without ability to regain control, resulting in a single vehicle crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No, the local Honda dealer wants to charge $150.00 to inspect the issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, none.

2019 Honda Civic Si (1.5L turbo engine with 6-speed manual transmission) purchased in September 2019 at CPO with 7,000 miles — current mileage 26,638. Honda factory CPO powertrain warranty valid until 11 June 2026 or 100K miles. If the vehicle is parked in gear (either 1st or Rerverse) without applying parking brake on even the slightest grade (uphill or downhill), the vehicle will slowly creep — on a couple of occurrences, the vehicle moved more than 6 feet. This has happened on multiple occasions as I do not always remember to manually apply the parking brake. Once while waiting for a friend to pick up a prescription at a pharmacy, I actually witnessed a "ratchet" effect movement of the vehicle in the parking lot while sitting in the driver's seat. I took the vehicle to Mohawk Honda (Scotia NY) for assessment. My answer was to always set parking brake as documented in owner manual — interestingly, it states the same for vehicles with CVT (automatic) transmissions as opposed to simply putting them in Park. I have owned literally dozens of manual transmission vehicles since 1981, and I have never before experienced this. Service manager (via phone) later blamed low compression engine as incapable of holding vehicle when in gear. Call to Honda Customer Service at the time referred me back to a dealer. I decided to pursue this once again after reading of another manufacturer's recall of a car that would not hold in place while parked.
