- #11748718July 7, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS
The local authorized Honda service center has failed to resolve this threat. Below is the mandatory timeline and documentation regarding this defect: [Date of Incident #1 – XXX]: While driving at approximately 35 MPH on a open road with no obstructions, the vehicle abruptly engaged heavy emergency braking without warning. This nearly caused myself to get into a severe rear-end collision. [In-person Service Visit #1 -XXX– Paramus, NJ]: On this date, I brought the car to Paramus Honda, and was advised that their service department “has never heard of any vehicle made by Honda, phantom breaking”. Upon my insistence that this happened and that experiencing such made me feel unsafe and nervous to drive the vehicle. The service department advised me to ensure that both the rear and front sensors on the vehicle were free and clear of any type of debris. I did so and have ensured to always be of the sensors moving forward. [Date of Incident #2 - XXX]: While driving at approximately 25 MPH on a clear road, with no obstructions, the vehicle abruptly engaged heavy emergency braking without warning. My two children, age [XXX] & [XXX] were in the vehicle at this time & again nearly caused a severe rear-end collision. Phone contact- Service Visit #2 - XXX. – Honda of Paramus, NJ]: On this date, I called Paramus Honda, and was advised again that their service department “has never heard of any vehicle made by Honda, phantom breaking.” * [Date of Incident #3: XXX]: While driving at approximately 35 MPH on a clear road with no obstructions, the vehicle abruptly engaged heavy emergency braking without warning. This CAUSED a severe rear-end collision with the three vehicles behind me to all crash into each other- with 7 of the 9 people that were in those vehicles, get hurt and require medical attention & ambulance transport. Two of those individuals were babies & my two children, age [XXX] & [XXX] were in my vehicle at this time. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH on a highway, the steering wheel seized, resulting in a loss of steering control. The contact was able to pull the vehicle onto the shoulder and then drove off the highway to a gas station, where the vehicle was towed. The contact stated that the power steering warning light, the brake warning light, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the steering rack had failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no response was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 10,500.

This event occurred after a history of ABS system issues as well as Infotainment system issues since 10k miles. During morning commute at approximately 60 mph, all dash warnings began to chime associated with the Touring features of the sedan. TPMS, Collision Avoidance, Braking System, Lane Departure, etc. AND Electric Power Steering. The steering wheel clicked and immediately became difficult to steer. I found a safe pullover point and managed to return the car safely the short distance home.

The car suddenly started to miss fire and lose power. This puts the driver and others in dangerous situations. If it happens when pulling out into traffic and the car misfired it could cause a serious crash. Honda service diagnosed that a blown head gasket causes coolant to leak into the cylinders, leading to engine misfires and a sudden loss of motive power at highway speeds. This issue is well documented on 2016 to 2022 honda Accords. There are many documented cases of this exact premature failure. Honda is aware of this issue and has awarded some owners goodwill repair when outside of warranty. There is currently ongoing litigation because of the 10s of thousands of head gasket failures. My car has 75k miles and went out of warranty at 60k miles. My goodwill request was denied by local regional Honda Rep but I elevated the request to corporate Honda and currently waiting on their response.

I’m not sure what it’s called, but the entertainment system where the touch screen is for radio, has ghost touches when the weather gets warm. Over the winter, this never happens. But during the summer, the screen starts glitching out and if I have gps going, this is a real safety issue because the ghost touches change the screen and I don’t know where I’m going. And it’s very distracting , the ghost touches continue every couple seconds.

Touchscreen system in my 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring is now having issues registering touches or is exhibiting ghost touches. This results in unpredictable selections for diverse systems like sound, touch free phone integration, navigation, etc. These are distracting in the extreme, and seem to be common during the afternoon hours in strong sun. This issue is partially mitigated via a hard reset, but this is helping less and less as this error becomes more and more common.

On July 4th 2026, I was leaving from a restaurant that evening and within 5-10 seconds of me turning my car on, all of the lights on my dashboard turned on. I was slightly confused because there were multiple at once and my car was rumbling a bit from under the engine hood. Within a few weeks prior, I’ve been having with my digital car screen switching back and forth between tabs (from the radio, to my CarPlay, to the settings). It will be intermittent but fairly consistent. I plan to take my car to an auto parts store for a code test and battery/alternator test to see if there’s any further issues. I just purchased a new battery for this car within the 3 years of me getting it, 2 years ago and there shouldn’t be any issues. I’m not sure how to proceed and I really don’t have it in me to spend large amounts of money and time with repairs for a supposedly heavily reliable car. My current mileage is at 120,000.

The infotainment screen has ghost/phantom touches. So the touchscreen registers taps I didn't make. This occurs while I’m driving, make it impossible to have my GPS navigation, or my Apple car play. It even freezes the screen. I’ve replaced my infotainment screen and the same error occurred a year later. I had to pay out of pocket for an error than is occurring in the other vehicles with the same make and model. This shouldn’t be something customers need to pay for, it should be a recall.

When driving on highway the car displayed multiple warning messages on dashboard including electronic power system light, lane keeping assist system problem, TPMS system problem, etc. Mileage was 22380miles. I bought the car May 2026. I drove it for around 1000miles. The next day the warnings disapeared.

Before the collision, while turning left from a complete stop, the steering wheel suddenly became extremely stiff and would not turn normally. There were no dashboard warning lights (no EPS, brake, or hybrid warnings). The steering problem occurred before impact and contributed to the head-on collision.

My 2022 Honda Accord Sport screen / navigation is malfunctioning / failing and it is available for inspection. This is a MAJOR SAFETY issue because unless the screen is in Anti-Theft mode (after a reset) which locks all functions, the screen will start glitching / ghost-tapping to where the screen nonstop beeps and flashes from feature to feature without any ability to stop it or even tap the screen to try to fix it. While driving this is a major safety issue that inherently draws the driver's attention away from the road to trying to fix the screen (which is obviously a safety problem while driving. This is a common issue among Honda Accords and I do not know how this has not been addressed yet. My car is currently in the dealership shop and they are saying because it in outside 3 years, it will cost over $1000 to fix for A SAFETY ISSUE that can't be worked around besides turning off the whole system. There were no problems with the car or the screen prior to this randomly starting to happen about a week ago on a hot summer's day. Please help with this, this is a huge safety issue and someone will get hurt someday because they aren't focusing on the road and instead trying to get the non-stop beeping fixed.

Component/System: Integrated Control Module (ICM) CPU — software defect identified under NHTSA Recall 25V-785 (Honda Recall TN2). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: While driving on a California highway, I attempted to accelerate to pass another vehicle and the car failed to accelerate normally — it did not respond with expected drive power. This is consistent with the recall defect, which states the ICM CPU can reset while the vehicle is in operation, causing the vehicle to lose drive power and increasing the risk of a crash. This occurred at highway speed with other vehicles present, creating an immediate danger. Dealer Confirmation: I have visited an authorized Honda dealership twice regarding this recall — once upon receiving the recall notification in November 2025, and again in January 2026 during a scheduled oil change. On both occasions, the dealer confirmed the recall was on file for my vehicle but stated they did not have the software or equipment available to perform the remedy. The repair has not been completed as of the date of this complaint, June 26, 2026 — more than seven months after the recall was issued. Inspections by Other Parties: The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other outside parties in connection with this issue. Warning Lamps or Prior Symptoms: No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared prior to or during the acceleration failure incident. The recall defect relates to an internal software condition that does not appear to trigger a visible warning before the power loss occurs. The highway incident described above is the only symptom I have personally observed that may be connected to this defect.

This is just a copy of what I sent to Honda. navigation cannot even be used because of this problem. this does create a safety issue when I'm in areas I'm not familiar with and the fact that I cannot use the maps function and have to look at my phone for directions. not to mention the constant distraction. Is Honda ever going to do anything about this trash? This is not okay and IS A SAFETY issue! This needs to be rectified. IM SICK OF IT and the lack of care from Honda is astonishing. I have my own videos but these are links of issues that others are having. mine is doing the exact same thing. read the comments for the amount of people dealing with this. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. My family was out of town, when the fire occurred. However, the neighbors were home and their home also sustained some damage. My home was a total loss. On June 16, 2026 I received a call while out of town that my home was on fire and it was a total loss. Statements from the neighbors and fire marshal were that the garage was on fire and then spread to the rest of the home. The only thing in the garage that could have started the fire was my Hybrid vehicle.

My husband was driving our 2022 Honda Accord home eastbound on [XXX] on Friday, [XXX] from Oswego to Saratoga Springs from a funeral. It was extremely hot that day. It started to rain and he was going the speed limit and the steering locked up. He ended up doing at least one 360 possible two and then hit the guardrail. We never had a recall on our steering but a lot of issues while driving on the lane controls. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My infotainment system is not working properly. It switches between screens, radio stations, etc., and sometimes turns off. It is very dangerous when I am driving using my map and the map either moves, stops working, or switches to a different screen. I have had to pull over in the middle of nowhere while traveling because the map quit working properly. It also cuts me off in the middle of phone conversations. I just put a random date below because this has been going on for almost a year now.
