Brakes will randomly stop working. When the brakes are pressed you have to press all the way down and then vehicle still won’t stop and the only way for the vehicle to come to a complete stop is to press the parking brake. Brakes and rotors have been replaced already and it still happens

The right side break light works intermittently. It is out more than on. I was informed that there is a shortage in it and the entire assembly has to be replaced. I see countless GMC Yukons with the same light out. This is a huge safety issue.

While driving I made a right hand turn. As soon as the turn was made, the powering steering completely went out. The power steering is found to fail upon cold starts, then return to normal after operating. The vehicle has been taken to gmc numerous times with no explanation as to why or how it has happened. When asked to replace the steering rack. They stated vehicle is working as expected. It is unsafe. GMC has had recalls on the steering for many years now.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the service stabili-trak and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact then stated that an independent mechanic had previously replaced the brake sensor, fuses, solenoids, and several other unknown parts; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 230,000.

Transmission failed while driving down the road. Trasmission reved up while driving and would not go faster then the car started slowing down. Thank goodness this was not on an interstate or it could have caused an accident. Check engine light came on as I was getting to the shoulder of the road.

OUR VEHICLE IS 2017 AND WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIR CONDITIONING CONDENSER. I'VE READ THAT THIS A ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND IT IS VERY EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. THIS PROBLEM. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL IN PLACE. WE AS CONSUMERS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE NEGLECT OF GMC NOT PROPERLY BUILDING THIS VEHICLE.

Transmission shifting gears sporadically between 49-57 mph and 19-24mph. If I’m driving at 53 mph, I take my foot off the gas and slow down to 50 mph, when I start to slowly accelerate again, it jerks and makes a loud noise as if the transmission has trouble shifting. Took it to the dealer 3 times now. First time they said they can’t find anything wrong. Second time they replaced a valve body that supposedly would fix it. It didn’t. Third time they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. I don’t feel safe driving around my 3 kids all the time.

- #11518685April 24, 2023ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
This is a very common problem with GM vehicles produced from 2015 to 2019 and is occurring in 5.3L and 6.2L gas engines. The engine coolant temperature sensor is failing and defaulting to a fail safe that turns the electric cooling fans on to full speed because it thinks the vehicle is overheating. When this sensor fails, the engine temperature gauge will not work. When the vehicle is turned off the fans will stay on for 15 minutes at full speed and will deplete the battery. The sensors are being replaced multiple times with different manufacturers and the problem returns in a matter of days or weeks. You can disconnect the battery negative post and reconnect and the problem corrects until it is tripped again at later date. GM has no solution for this. This issue will leave a driver stranded and will cause engine or transmission issues if driven while the vehicle is doing this. There is no check engine light or code tripped while this occurs either.

- #11517020April 14, 2023FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Travelling on an FM road, going 55 when Yukon began accelerating on its own, even when I took foot off the accelerator. tapped brakes, thinking cruise control had engaged. Vehicle swerved violently. Speed kept increasing. Saw I was traveling 75mph! Braked hard! Felt as if acceleration was fighting against the brakes. Then spun out in the middle of the highway, spinning around 1 1/2 times while fully braking. Finally I slowed enough to throw it into park, regardless of what it might do to my transmission, I had to stop the vehicle. I came to rest straddling the lane I had been in and the oncoming lane, facing the direction from which I came. Traffic behind me had seen my struggles in time to stop back far enough that they weren’t endangered and there was no oncoming traffic at that moment. The fuel propulsion system (throttle?) seems to be at fault. There was no warning on the dash about any issue prior to this. The issue was real, a danger to myself and others. A mechanic examined the vehicle and discovered accumulation of debris on top of connector under the hood. He believed just enough water caused the conductivity needed to trigger the acceleration. State that these vehicles allow more intrusion from wheel well area than most. He thoroughly cleaned all connectors and no further issues have happened (yet!) Further research uncovered a report on ‘Sudden Unintended Acceleration’. The link follows: https://www.gmfullsize.com/threads/sudden-unintended-acceleration-gm-full-size-trucks.327479/ I also have a report quoting all the GM document #'s if need be.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that she had initially received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V050000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the recall repair was performed. The contact stated that a year after the repair, a vertical crack began to form over the passenger’s side air bag where the recall repair was performed. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 113,600.
