- #11599554July 6, 2024UNKNOWN OR OTHER, POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
I am writing to express my concerns and frustrations regarding the recurring issues with my vehicle despite multiple service appointments at Classic GMC Arlington. Despite numerous attempts to address these problems, I continue to experience issues with Continuity of service and performance Fueling system and coolant system problems (twice in six months) Stabilizer link light illumination during startup RPM acceleration while slowing down or stopping Ticking sound from the engine. Each time I bring my vehicle in for service, I am told that there are no issues with the performance, idle, or spark plugs, despite having recently received a full service tune-up. I suspect that there may be intentional damage or tampering with my vehicle, which is causing these persistent problems.I have not had any prior issues or service lights illuminated before, and there were no incidents reported by the previous owners. I believe there may be fraudulent activity involving the manufacturer and service providers. schedule a thorough inspection and diagnosis to address these recurring issues.

- #11599180July 5, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
On 4-5 occasions since purchasing a new 2021 GMC Yukon Denali the automatic breaking function has engaged for no reason, with no obstruction in the roadway. It has occurred at low speed (after disengaging break and starting to drive). Obviously, this is a major safety issue.

I was stopped at a red light in the left hand turning lane and when the light turned green I proceeded to accelerate and the engine would rev but the car would not move forward so I continued to push on the gas when the car jolted forward Violently. I am lucky no one was in front of me because this would have cause a car accident. Turns out the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced which is a common issue for GM however they never owned up to it and refused to pay to for the cost of the replacement and I paid several thousands out of pocket. This is a major safety concern and could be potentially life threatening. GM should recognize this as a recall and take ownership of a failed transmission with less than 100,000 miles.

Problem Synopsis: Camera Issues in 2023 Yukon Denali Vehicle Information: Model: 2023 Yukon Denali Issue Description: The vehicle's camera system exhibits malfunctioning behavior after the vehicle gets wet, such as following intense rain. Problem Details: Initial Trigger: The problem begins when the vehicle is put into reverse after being exposed to water, particularly following heavy rainfall. Observed Malfunctions: The driver's side camera ceases to function immediately upon engaging reverse. Abrupt braking while in reverse leads to additional failures: The passenger side and forward-facing cameras also go black. Temporary Recovery: The cameras intermittently resume operation based on the vehicle's movement: Stepping on the brakes causes all cameras to go black. The cameras come back online one by one when the car rocks back, likely indicating water displacement around electrical connectors or modules. Hypothesis: The issues are likely caused by water affecting the electrical connections or modules associated with the camera system. This hypothesis is supported by the cameras' behavior correlating with changes in the vehicle's position and the presence of water. Recommendation: A thorough inspection of the camera system's connectors and modules is recommended, with particular attention to waterproofing and potential areas where water might collect and impact electrical components. Attached Evidence: The attached document contains pictures illustrating the camera issues as observed during the malfunction. These images were taken immediately after the intense rain when the vehicle was put into reverse and during the subsequent camera failures. - #11597729June 29, 2024ENGINE
Possible cam shaft or lifter failure. The engines power greatly reduced speed and sputtered which significantly slowed the vehicle down and could have caused and accident. It has been inspected by a certified GMC service shop. There was a check engine light on and it was supposed to be all fuel injectors, that didn't solve the problem the shop kept on digging and digging and said that they don't know if it is the cam or lifter. It is my understanding that this is a very common issue amongst these vehicles and puts alot of people upside down and out of a vehicle due to this issues. The service shop said that a new engine would cost up to $20k and it could take 4 weeks to 4 months to get the new engine in. They are back ordered because so many people are going through this issue. The service shop also said that they didn't know exactly when the engine would come in.

While I’m parked or even driving I keep getting a alert on my speedometer ( Trailer Break System ) and it’s not a 1 time alert the whole time I’m driving it’s constantly alerting me yet I don’t even use my Trailer system at all, it’s concerning due to the distraction of trying to clear the screen constantly while I’m on the high way.

- #11596378June 25, 2024AIR BAGS
There are apparently a couple of faults affecting the SRS and leading to a periodic airbag light and "Service SRS" warning. GM has issued/revised a few Service Bulletins related to this warning. Some are related to software, some are related to overhead wiring, some are related to the clock spring in the steering wheel, and some are related to the driver's side airbag module. My understanding is that when the SRS warning appears, all airbags are disabled and GM says we drive our vehicles at our own risk. To my knowledge this has affected several models of approximately 2021-2023 GMC (Yukon and Sierra) and Chevrolet (Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado) SUVs and trucks.

Tail lights went out. Lifters have been replaced TWICE! While stopped at red light, at take off the vehicles lunges forward. At low speed the vehicle will down shift on it’s own. 80k miles Recently while headed to work, the torque converter went out. 126k This is suppose to be a luxury vehicle and cost entirely to much to be a POS. I honestly thought I had a lemon but it seems to be a reoccurring issue in the entire fleet.

- #11594319June 14, 2024SERVICE BRAKES
During standard braking operations the vehicle (not a hard emergency situation) on dry ground the vehicle seems to activate the abs system or something similar which makes the braking effort non standard and increases stopping distance. The issue has occurred occasionally for over a year but is becoming more frequent. It has occurred at both highway speeds of 55 mph and almost stopped during parking activities of 2mph.

While driving the car, the glass sunroof spontaneously exploded. It was NOT associated with a rock strike, no other cars were nearby, and the vehicle was not under an overpass. The noise was extremely loud, similar to a gunshot. The sun shade was closed, otherwise broken glass would have showered down on the passengers.

- #11591460May 30, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, SUSPENSION, ENGINE
1.)Rear Brakes are not functioning properly. They still have pads but when you press down to pump the brake it fails. I was told by a mechanic that they other GMC vehicles have had recalls on this, but mine is not showing one. 2.)The suspension on this vehicle has never worked properly. It rides extremely rough. It has some special suspension in it from a shock perspective, but it feels as if it often fails. 3.) I had to replace the torque converter in this vehicle last year, and the fluid that runs through it. Apparently this is a known issue with no recall. 4.) the transmission slips when the vehicle shifts gears. It shifts hard. Also a known issue with no recall.
