- #11736686May 8, 2026SUSPENSION, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The vehicle has experienced recurring suspension, drivability, and pulling issues associated with the 4-corner air ride leveling suspension system since early ownership. The first major incident occurred at approximately 4,600 miles when the vehicle displayed suspension warnings and would not accelerate properly past highway speeds. Since that time, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced pulling during acceleration, unstable ride behavior, suspension/leveling concerns, alignment-related issues, and drivability instability. The problem has been reproduced multiple times and documented through approximately 16 repair visits and roughly 74 cumulative days out of service. Dealership service records include repeated suspension inspections, drivability evaluations, wheel alignments, and related repair attempts. The issue remains unresolved and the vehicle is currently back in service again for the same concern. The recurring pulling and instability create safety concerns because the vehicle does not consistently track properly during acceleration and normal driving conditions. Suspension warning messages and drivability symptoms first appeared early in ownership while the vehicle was still under factory warranty. I have also found many similar owner complaints online involving the same suspension system in comparable GM full-size SUV models.

This vehicle was identified as recalled in 2025 for total engine replacement and the engine did fail in May 2025 it would stall while driving. GMC performed the engine replacement in June of 2025. The car stalled again on Friday May 1. It was taken to the dealer on May 7 and was diagnosed as needing another complete engine replacement. I was told that gmc identified a need to replace more parts after my engine was replaced but I was never informed of this. I was told my this dealership that I am the first vehicle they’ve seen that will require a second full engine replacement It is a 6.3L v8. This car stalled while I was driving with a 3yo in the vehicle.

*gas tank had become partially dislodged from the undercarriage. *Entire family was in vehicle at time of incident, including three small children. The safety of an entire family along with any others that may have been on the road, if the car would have combusted due to the gas tank which had just been filled to capacity. *vehicle has been at Mark Christopher GM dealership for over one month. *dealership service dept claims someone tried to steal gas tank. *Mercury insurance company claims mechanical failure. *No warning given from vehicle. We heard a dragging noise while we were driving, pulled over as soon as possible. Upon inspection, it was observed that fuel tank had begun to leak fuel from dragging on the freeway.

Recently my vehicle was serviced under recall N252494000 at an authorized GM dealership. Following completion of the recall remedy, which included an inspection and oil change to OW-40. As a result of this recall remedy, I have experienced the following adverse effects: •Significant increase in oil change costs from approximately $80.50 to $171.21 •Noticeable decrease in fuel economy (previously 18-20 mpg, now approximately 15-16 mpg). •Ongoing concern regarding engine reliability and safety •Diminished resale value due to the known engine defect and recall history. It is my understanding that this recall addresses a known defect involving internal engine components that may lead to catastrophic engine failure and sudden loss of propulsion. I am also aware that the NHTSA has initiated further investigation into failures occurring even after the recall remedy has been performed.

On April 12, 2026, while traveling approximately 65 mph westbound on XXX in [XXX] (just east of Exit XXX), the engine in our 2022 GMC Yukon Denali failed without any prior warning. This occurred on a four-lane highway where I was in the lane furthest from the shoulder. The engine shut off, the vehicle automatically shifted into neutral, and I had to cross multiple lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder without power steering while the vehicle was rapidly decelerating. I had my [XXX] son and [XXX] dog in the vehicle at the time, which created a significant safety risk. VDOT arrived on scene within minutes but was unable to jump-start the vehicle. I contacted Southern Buick GMC Kia in Greenbrier, VA and arranged for towing through their service. The vehicle was towed to their facility the same day. On April 14, 2026, the dealership informed me that the engine had failed and contacted GMC headquarters to order a replacement engine under the vehicle’s VIN. The vehicle remains at Southern Buick GMC Kia in Greenbrier, VA, where it is available for inspection by NHTSA. Previously, a PicoScope test was performed on October 7, 2025, under warranty code XXX. At that time, the engine was determined not to be eligible for warranty replacement; the oil was changed and a new oil cap was installed. The forward collission system continues to perform phantom braking while driving in traffic resulting in near rear end collisions. The GMC dealer refuses to fix it without charging me for more diagnostic work, which has already been done twice. What is my recourse?

We brought vehicle in while still in warranty complaining of rough running engine and dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong. 2000 miles over warranty the Engine fails with all characteristics of the L87 bearing lifter issue. Now GMC does not want to replace without charging us a ton of money.

Purchase this Vehicle November 1st 2025 as a GM certified used vehicle. Had several issues with the camera system including the backup camera. Would go offline and not be usable for days. Vehicle went back to shop several times for this with no resolution. Now February 18th 2026 at approximately 630PM EST (after sunset) on the way into work traveling on the highway the engine lost power and engine shutdown. Vehicle shifted into neutral with the indication to press the start button in order to shift into Drive. This cause all of the lights to shutdown when it tried to start the engine. I was barely able to pull this over to the shoulder before I lost forward motion. Narrow shoulder. Tried to restart again with the same results. Call towing company. They attempted to jump start vehicle. Same results. All power shutdown. Truck was loaded onto flatbed and towed to dealership. Dealership states bad battery. Got authorization to replace battery from the dealer in which I purchased the truck. hey attempted to start and then it burned out the main fuse. They determined that the engine had seized and they were going to replace the engine. I looked up to find that GM had performed the engine oil replacement procedure in June of 2025. This vehicle is listed in the "recall" for defective L87 engines. Clearly changing the oil had no effect to remedy the issue. I have no faith that the new engine will not fail the same way this one did.

Our 2021 GMC Yukon XL with the 6.2L engine suffered a catastrophic failure requiring the engine to be replaced. The diagnosis was very similar to the GMC 6.2L engines that have been recalled for safety and failure reasons however our vehicle was not included in the recall. The engine only had 75,924 miles and was maintained to the manufacturer's maintenance schedule. The cost to replace the engine was $11,309.87.

Without any warning, the V8 L87 6.2 liter engine suddenly seized up, began shaking with significant reduced power. I was fortunate that I could drive slowly to safety and was not on the expressway. In my research, I understand this is related to a design/manufacturing issue with the connecting rods and crankshafts in this type of engine. As I investigated the issue, I found that 600,000 vehicles were recalled with the recall either completely replacing the engine or upgrading the oil type from standard to a thicker, higher-viscosity 0W-40 full synthetic to provide better protection under high stress, along with a new oil cap and filter. In our case, we were directed to change the oil and even with that change, we experienced this dangerous engine failure which cost us $12K ! For that cost of repair, we elected to have the engine replaced for about $1K more to get a 100K mile warranty on the engine. However, our additional concern with the replacement engine is they gave us a remanufactured version of the L87 and we have not found confirmation that they have adequately addressed the design/manufacturing flaws so may be vulnerable to the same seizing issue. We appreciate your attention to this widespread GM issue.

My 2023 GMC Yukon Denali is currently at the dealership due to a manufacturer recall involving the engine. The engine issue occurred while I was driving with my children in the vehicle, which required me to pull over and have the vehicle towed to the dealership After inspection, I was told the vehicle requires a full engine replacement. The dealership has stated there is no estimated time of arrival for the replacement engine due to backorder, and that other customers have been waiting for extended periods. I am currently without my vehicle and have been provided a temporary replacement that is not comparable. The extended delay and lack of timeline are causing significant loss of use.

we have had no issues with this vehicle at all. then one day notice a ticking in the area of the valve covers. Sounded to be more on drivers side. Thought maybe just the oil was low which has never happened before. Oil level was fine. I always change oil on regular intervals and there were no check engine lights and engine continued to run fine with no loss of power or ticking changing. It was our only vehicle so we had to continue to drive that day. Wife was driving and said vehicle shuddered and started sounding funny and check engine light came on she was able to drive back home. Now ticking is worse with a clucking rattling sound now coming from oil pan. After some internet searching it very much sounds like issues many others are having with the 6.2l GM engine.

- #11734243April 28, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
At 70 mph the adaptive cruise control system applied the brakes hard enough to engage the abs system even though my lane of travel was clear. There was a car on the exit ramp to the right applying their brakes not in my path that I believe my vehicle picked up. There were several vehicles behind me and it almost caused an accident. There needs to be a way to disable the adaptive cruse on this vehicle for safety concerns. This has happened to me on multiple occasions and I reported it to the General Motors hotline with absolutely no feedback on the issue.

Engine failure with the 6.2 engine. My engine failed the Pico test in July of 2025 with 66k miles. The entire engine was replaced and I was told this would “fix” the engine issue. On April 25, 2026, my engine failed while I was driving at highway speeds. The engine was knocking and I pulled over as I could not accelerate it. I had it towed and was told by the dealership that the rod bearings failed and I would need an entire new engine. 9 months and 10k miles after a brand new engine was installed. This will be the third engine in this vehicle since I’ve owned it. GM’s “fix” for the 6.2 recall is not a fix. It’s pushing the problem down the road, risking lives by putting people in vehicles with known engine failures and no true fix.

- #11734291April 28, 2026POWER TRAIN, ENGINE, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
On 3/14/26, on I-75 in Troy, Michigan at 70mph the vehicle, with 4000k miles on the odometer completely shut off. I pushed to restart the engine and it would not restart. My whole family was in the car and we were on a curve. I was able to coast to a flat shoulder. The vehicle would not restart or shift out of park. OnStar took seven hours to tow the vehicle. The dealer is installing a new L87 6.2L engine. I do not have the vehicle back yet. I received an economy car as a loaner. The dealer says GM will not extend the factory warranty despite the engine replacement. My family could have been easily killed.
