Ford Recall 26S28 NHTSA Recall - 26V237 Dealership has run the update. 2 codes NOT LISTED by Ford (regarding the Lead Frame in which they have 4 listed), are not covered by Ford according to the mechanics. The Valve Body is part of the lead frame but not covered under recall?? They don’t want to replace the lead frame as required by this safety recall. They want to charge us to replace the valve body, within the lead frame. [XXX], [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My transmission hard shifts from 1st to 3rd. It really switches in 2nd gear. It also hard shifts into 5th and 8th gear. Sometimes it misses the gear almost like I’m in neutral. This happens when I’m in 7th or 8th gear. Plus, if I’m on the highway and I need to accelerate, I feel a hard clunk while changing gears. This started in May.

I was driving on the highway at about 60-70 mph and my truck shifted into first gear with my tires basically locking up and slid along the highway. I brought my truck into a ford dealership and they told me they couldn’t get it to replicate the incident so they turned me away. I personally replaced my battery terminals and it hasn’t done it again. Now I will be driving and randomly my truck will rev bomb and my gauge cluster will shut off and it shows up with an orange wrench symbol but when I turn the car off it resets. The research I’ve done it can come from a speed sensor or the lead frame. I know 2014 fords have a recall on transmissions but my truck does not have a documented one but there is something funky going on with it.

Battery alarm came on twice while running errands less than a mile from home. Parked vehicle in driveway and checked battery connections - everything perfectly tight. 3 hours later had to extinguish flames at front base of engine. DL3Z-14300-D caused electrical fire and see now the part has been discontinued.

Recall Number 25S75 issued July 08.2025 and still not fixed. That is over a year now, how long before they have to apply to the recall.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and while the vehicle was idling, the transmission suddenly disengaged. The accelerator pedal was released for a while, then the contact attempted to engage the transmission to accelerate. The vehicle failed to accelerate intermittently and then suddenly accelerated. The contact became aware that the message “Service Vehicle”, and the wrench symbol were temporarily illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V237000 (Power Train), and the powertrain control module software was updated. The contact stated that, immediately after the software was updated, the failure persisted and became more persistent. The contact stated that the warning lights became illuminated again. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, and a week later the dealer diagnosed the vehicle with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

This vehicle has been into the Ford dealer multiple times for transmission slipping type issues. From before the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty ended and after. The dealer said the only thing needed was an update and reset. Today a different Ford dealer has informed me that during the transmission flush, there are tiny specks and slivers of metal. The engine issue in regard to cam phaser repair recall/customer service bulletin has been leaking due to issues with proper sealant. The rear camera goes out and screen turns white at times.

On XXX at approximately 5pm my passenger and I were traveling west on the XXX from [XXX] to [XXX]. While driving at highway speeds with cruise control on at approximately 75/80 miles an hour, my 2018 F150 3.5ecoboost with the 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission suddenly without any input from myself, the transmission jerked out of gear causing the rear end to shudder violently. The vehicle briefly went into limp mode, after I pulled over and stopped, I turned the vehicle off and let it sit. When I turned it back on the limp mode went away but the transmission felt like it was slipping gears. My vehicle has only had light city and highway driving and never towed anything. With the known issues and on going class action lawsuits against Ford Motor Company regarding the 10R80 transmission, evidence shows my vehicle is also suffering from the known dangerous 10R80 10-speed transmission issues. The metal cables on the car seat that attach it to base, one of them is fraying. I noticed this today when I brought the car seat inside to remove the car seat cover to wash.

The computer system malfunctioned; the front panel warning was "Stop vehicle and check regen. brakes". I put my car in drive and when I hit the gas pedal the car reversed instead of going forward. I got it towed to the dealer at Piazza Hyundai in Limerick PA. The service did not provide me with an explanation about the warning and showed little concerns to the issues, I was given a month time frame for looking at my car. I consider this a safety issue as the car did not respond appropriately to D and R, I suspect a computer failure.

In my F 150 with41,000 miles on it I was traveling down a road about 45 mph and all of a sudden transmission went from 6th gear to first gear . This was a stressful situation as my dog got slammed around and I was stunned as the engine was revving high rpm and truck could only go 10mph. If i had been on a busy highway or interstate then it might’ve cost my dog and I’s lives! There was a car behind me going same speed and good thing he was paying attention or there would’ve been a bad rear end accident . I tried driving it locally at low speeds but it keeps doing it so basically an unsafe truck that I can’t use. I see numerous recalls for other years 2015i-17 and one for 2014 but none currently for my 2012. Please research and advise when you can. Thx [XXX] And just to be clear this is a dangerous safety recall need not a CSP solution. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle or while driving at various speeds, the instrument panel intermittently went blank. The contact used an OBD machine to retrieve a fault code related to the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor. The contact was informed that the OSS sensor needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

I own a 2016 Ford F-150 involved in Safety Recall 26S28. The vehicle suffered an unexpected downshift and also temporarily locked into 5th gear. The dealership confirmed the transmission lead frame failed. Ford is denying coverage because the failure registered as code P0717 (Input Sensor) instead of an Output Sensor code, even though both sensors are manufactured as a single, un-severable piece on the exact same recalled lead frame part. Beacuse my sensor that is housed within the exact same lead frame broke down, instead of other sensors, Ford is denying to cover the cost. The issue is that the lead frames are place in a location that they get very hot and can become brittle over time. Causing any wire or sensor housed within it to become under extreme stress and potentially fail. I dont understnad how Ford can say some sensors inside the lead frame are covered but others inside the very same part are not. My truck is currently in the dealership and the technician has informed me that this lead frame part is bad. I did have the wrench light illuminate in my truck and the PO717 trouble code was present. Because an abrupt downship can occur, this is a safety risk with known reported injuries already reported via the recal. Recall #26S28 Case # with Ford Motor COmpany is CXH-08688952

The engine dies out then on then out during any speed. Will not accelerate, Will not start. Dies out on the interstate and in town. Each repair by the dealer has not fixed my truck. I see Ford has recalled this model of F150’s but not mine. It needs to be.
