SummaryThis bulletin supersedes 26-2280. Reason for update: To add 2027 vehicle models, update the Parts list to change the tape, and revise Step 4 to change the tape and wrap an additional wiring harness. Some of the vehicles listed in the Model Statement above may exhibit a concern where the horn intermittently sounds when turning the steering wheel. This may be due to incorrect routing of a wire harness in the steering wheel, a loose strand of wire protruding from a wire harness and grounding the driver airbag, and/or a concern with one of the driver airbag mounting points.

SummarySome 2025-2026 Aviator/Explorer/Expedition/F-150/Mustang Mach-E/Nautilus/Navigator vehicles may exhibit the hands-free BlueCruise feature intermittently/consistently unavailable when BlueCruise is active and when traveling in a "Blue Zone". Speed sign recognition may also be inaccurate. If there are no active relevant diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) present and the issue persists after multiple key cycles and if the BlueCruise System Health Check passes, download and run the "TCU - Reset Telematics Control Unit (TCU) Module" application using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). If the condition is resolved, inform customers that this may be a temporary fix and engineering is currently working on a solution expected in Q4 2026. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available. For claiming, use causal 14G229 and labor operations 12651D and 12651D4. If the condition persists after a test drive, refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 419-03B for normal

SummaryFor Various Ford and Lincoln vehicles, if diagnostics lead to the replacement of the front seat cushion cover J-clips, lower-level service parts are now available. Use service part W709919-S901 if the J-clip is completely detached from the seat cover and W715386-S424 if the clip is still partially attached. It is not necessary to replace the seat cover if only the J-clip is separating from the cover. SummarySome 2021-2026 Ford/Lincoln vehicles may exhibit various symptoms including but not limited to the auto start/stop system not operating as intended with a "Check Charging System" message in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) while the charging system is operating properly with no charging related diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) stored. This may be due to someone using an aftermarket programmer to change the body control module (BCM) configuration to disable the auto start/stop system or perform other unsupported programming modifications. To correct this condition on F-150 and Bronco vehicles, download and run the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) application titled "BCM-Charging System Configuration Correction". Running this application will determine if the BCM configuration was modified by the customer and if so, provide the option to return the configuration back to factory settings. For other vehicle models exhibiting concerns related to unsupported aftermarket BCM programming, submit a Technical Support Request (TSR) requesting support to revert the BCM configuration

Summary2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with power running boards do not deploy the running boards in auto mode when the easy entry/exit setting for "Approach Detection" is toggled on. This is a change from prior models. Currently, easy entry/exit settings in the vehicle's center display screen incorrectly indicates that power running boards will deploy during approach detection in auto mode. This will be corrected in a future Digital Experience over-the-air (OTA) update which will begin deploying in mid Q3, 2026. The Workshop Manual (WSM) and Owner's Manual have been corrected to explain proper operation of power running boards.

SummarySome 2025-2026 Expedition/Navigator vehicles equipped with one-touch up/down front windows may exhibit a condition where a front window does not respond to one-touch controls, does not open all the way and/or bounces back when using the one-touch close function. Advise the customers that driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM) software updates are currently being delivered to vehicles over-the-air (OTA), which are expected to resolve these symptoms. It is important to advise the customer to select the automatic updates option in the settings menu to enable automatic updates and/or approve prompts to download or install updates if automatic updates are purposely disabled. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS) for additional information.
