BACK OVER PREVENTION
The contact owns a 2023 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the back-over prevention camera screen went to a blue screen. The contact stated that while driving, the camera turned on and the image was shown. The camera was unavailable, and a message to contact the dealer was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera needed to be reset and the software updated. The vehicle was test-driven. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 10,668.

My vehicle failed inspection due to a failed emissions test due to the on-board diagnostic not being able to communicate. I was unaware of this issue prior to the inspection. When I brought my car to the dealership, they said the gateway module needed to be updated in order to respond to the emissions test. There is a customer satisfaction program (22N15) that I believe my car should be covered under as I am experiencing the exact same issue listed in the program. My vin is not attached as of now but wanted to make you aware of the issue I am having.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. The dealer informed the contact that DTC: P0300 (multiple cylinder misfire) and P0316 (a misfire in one or more cylinders during the initial startup phase). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 4,092.

POWER TRAIN
On [XXX] while driving north on [XXX] from Corpus Christi, TX to San Antonio, TX our 2021 Ford Escape started to become difficult to accelerate and as we pressed on the pedal to accelerate the vehicle didn't not go any faster it began to reach a slow speed of about 35-30mph on a highway with vehicles going over 70mph, with no other choice but to pull over to the side of the road to avoid crashing into on coming traffic we proceeded to steer the vehicle towards Exit 36 into the city of Mathis, TX at which point the vehicle entered a forced neutral condition and then automatically shifted into “Park”, at which point a warning light that looks like a wrench came on, along with multiple warning messages in the instrument panel cluster we heard an audible chime. After shifting back into Drive the vehicle went limp and had limited torque slowing down to speeds lower than 30mph it then came to an abrupt stop and refused to go into gear, as we noticed the vehicle's engine seems to shut off it seemed to suddenly enter into a neutral state and began to move slower than 30mph and we steered the vehicle into a nearby gas station, thankfully barely making it into the rest stop before the vehicle locked into an emergency brake position and wouldn't allow us to return it to drive or out of any gear other than neutral. In neutral it would move a few feet then return to an emergency braking position with all four tires locked and the emergency brake light coming on and refusing to go off even when we diseganged the emergency brake, rendering the vehicle immobile. We were lucky to be able to make it off the freeway without having anyone crash into us with vehicles passing us at speeds greater than 70mph and our vehicle dropping to lower than 30mph and locking into a neutral position, thankfully we were able to make it to the nearest exit and call for help. SERVICE BRAKES
I have had a problem with a loud moaning noise from the brakes when placing the car in reverse. I have reported this and had my car into the Ford dealer on the following occasions: December 28, 2022, November 24, 2023, March 5, 2024, June 6, 2024 and October 16, 2024 The dealer is Tasca Ford at 900 Central Park Ave in Yonkers, N.Y 914-377-8100. I was advised that SSM 52515 was issued by Ford but that they have no solution for this problem. I also see TSB23-2308 referenced on my service receipts. I cannot believe that Ford has no solution for this problem that they have known about for at least two years. I have escalated this to Ford Corporate on November 19, 2024 and have received no response from their main office.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that upon arriving at her destination, the vehicle failed to shift into park(P). The message "Powertrain Fault" was displayed. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The “Service Powertrain” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Manufacturer Safety Recall: 23S27. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 81,000.

Very strong smell of gas in my car , affecting me badly , got sick and threw up and took car in , and ford changed my catalyst convertor among other things , no lights lit up for anything , the smell that was there is why I took it in and they kept the car until fixed and picked up , now I don’t feel safe , I have a 2022 ford escape 34000 miles and have had multiple serious recalls and very unsure of this car !

The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact noticed a burning odor in the interior of the vehicle. The diagnostic scanner was attached and the received code was P0299. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was scheduled to be taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing within the next several days. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. Front driver side door started clicking when open/closed about a month ago. Yesterday it started a loud thumping sound when opening. Upon closer investigation, four points where the door was welded to the arm mechanism have broken. The loud thumping sound is the internal brace hitting the door.

I have had multiple issues with the powertrain warning light illuminating. The first time it was decided to be low/dirty oil. This occurred about a month after purchasing the vehicle in 2021 with about 4000 miles. The second time it occurred about 6 months later. The dealer could not find a code nor replicate the issue. We thought I had bought bad gas. A year later it came on again, Ford dealership again couldn’t replicate the issue. Finally it came on and stayed on and throttle position sensor was replaced in July 2022. Light came on again in November 2024. Auto parts store and dealership could not find a code. This time I had no coolant. Added coolant and it has not come back on again.

POWER TRAIN, FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
April 2024 - While driving to work, I stopped at a stop sign. When I went to turn, the car went into neutral. I had to turn the car off and restart before I could change the gears. I took it to the dealer who stated they could not get the vehicle to replicate what happened and to keep eye on it. November 22, 2024 on my way home as I was exiting off the highway, the vehicle starting lunging then shifted into neutral on its own. I was able to stop and put it back into drive. When I tried to drive, it went back into neutral and started lunging forward. I could not get it back into drive but was able to go in neutral 5 mph and made it home. Once in the driveway, I tried to backup and it would not reverse. I turned off the vehicle and restarted it several times and was able to back up then drove straight to the dealer. They did a diagnostic and said the transmission needed replaced. This should not happen on a 2 year old vehicle. I noticed on your website 9 recalls for 2022 Ford Escapes. The only recall I received was for the doors. I took my vehicle in to have those fixed and those have been on backorder since April. My driver's side has only 1 hinge holding it on. I pray it doesn't fall off while driving.

Powertrain malfunction/ reduce power. My safety was fine, it just gave me really bad anxiety when the the gears shift shifted on its own. The problem was finally fixed it started literally less than five days after I bought my car and I bought my car brand new it took the dealership almost 2 years to believe me on what was wrong with it then of course I try to get blamed when I showed them proof on my phone that it was popping up a different times in the last two years. Yes Yes it started 3/27/22 - 2/01/24 Now I feel like I’m having problems with my brakes sometimes I feel like I gotta press on my heart to get them to stop and then it’s like my car is delaying when it’s stopping. Yet I checked to see if my car had any new recalls and nothing’s coming up. The powertrain malfunction didn’t even come up as a recall yet I had Ford fix it.
